Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Warrnambool Preview Posted on January 31, 2023February 1, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Plenty to learn. HERCULES MORSE resumes gelded with blinkers on, his jumpouts without blinkers have been encouraging. STRATEGIC CHARGE looked good racing on speed in a recent jumpout and is drawn to advantage. CAT EMPIRE travelled strongly in her recent jumpout and looked to have plenty to offer. ARCTIC BREEZE has worked home strongly in her jumpouts but has the outside draw. Selections: 3,5,8,7 Suggested Bet: Hercules Morse each way Race 2 Plenty to learn with a number of debutantes but QUEEN AIR brings some strong form lines for a maiden and has jumped out well to resume. CREDIBLE ANALYSES has also jumped out well and looks suited at this trip first up. TEQUILA’N’SUNRISE will give a sight on speed and has a fitness edge on many. VAN SCOTIA is another to jump out nicely to resume. THREE DOG NIGHT and ROCKET SCIENTIST both debut with blinkers on and have jumped out in good style. Selections: 10,1,5,12 Suggested Bet: Queen Air to win Race 3 LION CITY has been well in the market at his two runs to date, he chased a smart one (that goes around in R8) first up and his effort after travelling wide was full of merit. HUSSY PIE comes through the same race and also chased well. LIKELY SUSPECT has jumped out quite well to resume at what appears a suitable trip. FRENCH COMET and MARAVICH look place hopes. Selections: 5,11,4, 6 Suggested Bet: Lion City to win Race 4 ZIPPITY ZOUSTAR stuck on well to be narrowly beaten by the short priced favourite last start, they spaced the others. ALBANIAN BAY is hard fit and racing well but may need some luck from the draw. CROSSHILL is an interesting runner, his UK form is solid and he has jumped out quite well. SIR CUTHBERT hit the line strongly on debut and looks suited by the rise in distance. GLASS MOUNTAIN gets blinkers and a nose roll and has jumped out well between runs. Selections: 3,4,2,7 Suggested Bet: Zippity Zoustar to win Race 5 HEARTS AND MINDS and GOLDEN VITRINE come through the same race and both were held up at crucial stages in the home straight. FEUERMOND has jumped out well to resume and appears suited first up at 1700m. WESTBROOK PARK travelled wide last start, he’s drawn for a better run and drops in grade with a claim. RIOTOUS MISCHIEF also drops in grade with a claim and is in the mix. Selections: 2,5,4,3 Suggested Bet: Hearts and Minds each way Race 6 WAGON WHEEL looked a handy stayer in the making in NZ, he worked home well at his first Australian start and seems suited by the rise in distance and the drop in grade. VENTING and SUNDAY BUZZ may control the speed and both performed well at their latest starts. SET US FREE will be strong late. JUGAN won her maiden in good style last time. Selections: 1,4,6,3 Suggested Bet: Wagon Wheel each way Race 7 MRS CHRISSIE has her first run for the Maher and Eustace stable and has been jumping out well. She looked very good winning on debut and her subsequent two runs in stronger grade had merit. It’s even outside her. FRANCINE will make her own luck, she’s racing in good form and loves the short course here. RICH PARIS won her maiden in good style last start. STABLER dops in grade. TORI’S DEE is a previous first up winner. PROPHET’S CHOICE is racing well and gets down in the weights after the claim. Selections: 5,8,1,4 Suggested Bet: Mrs Chrissie to win Race 8 A few with a bit of upside here. SABAR covered ground and won well when heavily supported first up. (Lion City gives a guide on that form in R3). HARPER RAE is another to break her maiden in good style last start and that form has already held up well. BEAULICA will strip fitter for his fresh run here. PRIDE OF GALWAY looks the other key hope and has changed stable since his last run. Selections: 1,10,2,4 Suggested Bet: Sabar to win Market Market
