Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on February 4, 2025February 4, 2025 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 HIGHLAND BLAZE impressed last time after a luckless run previously and should justify his short quote. TAVABEEL is racing well in easier races and 300m should be ok. MAKE US PROUD had excuses last start and his previous form is solid. HIGHNESS was safely held in a stronger race on Saturday but backs up quickly and the trip could suit. Selections: 1,4,2,5 Suggested Bet: Highland Blaze to win Race 2 CLIMB THE LADDER closed off well in a key lead up race on debut and should appreciate the rise in distance. RHIA comes through the same race and also looks suited by the rise in trip. MENZAH ONE appreciated the step up to 1400m in a strong maiden. TAUNG and ALERO have some claims. Selections: 2,9,4,6 Suggested Bet: Climb The Ladder to win Race 3 HEAVENLY CONQUEST had jumped out well leading into her debut and struck interference at a crucial stage in that race. BERMONDSEY stuck on strongly on debut and looks suited stepping up to 1200m. EDEN ROSE has shown talent and finished ahead of Heavenly Conquest first up, she gets blinkers on, so must have a case. TOM, GLIDING LIGHTENING and CANNYWORTH come through the same race and are in the game. Selections: 11,2,9,8 Suggested Bet: Heavenly Conquest each way Race 4 Competitive race with a few up and comers. SUMMER FLAME impressed winning on speed on debut and we get a guide on the strength of that form in race two. SPIRIT OF JO will strip fitter for her return in a stronger race. ENRIGHT is fit, in-form and can roll forward from the draw. MISS COTOLETTA can miss the start but has jumped out cleanly between runs. HEAVING is building a handy record and is another that will be part of the speed. AREZZO looked a good raw talent winning on debut and has jumped out well since. Selections: 6,8,1,5 Suggested Bet: Summer Flame to win Race 5 GRID GIRL closed of well over 1200m first up, she ‘s suited by the rise in distance and can settle closer from a favourable draw. TRUFFLE FINDER also closed off well last time, he’ll strip fitter third up and looks a strong winning chance. VIENNA VIXEN is fit and consistent. ZOUPURRING was plain last time but his first up run was good and he gets winkers on. TREASUREFLIGHT broke the maiden impressively last start but did have that track pattern in his favour. Selections: 5,6,7,4 Suggested Bet: Grid Girl each way Race 6 TARVUE displayed good strength to win second up, she gives the impression she’ll appreciate this trip and should strip even fitter. LOVE SPARKLES lost momentum at a crucial stage last time and her NZ form reads ok for this. PACIFIC CROSS is unknown beyond 1600m but chased bravely behind Tarvue and gets a weight advantage. MORISSETTE and LARSEN BAY have claims. Selections: 4,2,7,6 Suggested Bet: Tarvue to win Race 7 Another competitive race. ENXUTO was well ridden from a low draw to win well last week. The wide draw makes things more complicated but there’s a decent run to the first bend. CALL HIM IGGY was held up at a vital stage last time when he appeared to have plenty to offer. STEPCHILD should be at peak fitness and gets down in the weights after the claim. ACTIVE DUTY is racing in good form and looks suited coming back in distance. ERSA will be at peak fitness and could take a sit just behind the speed from the low draw. TOMBA was plain last time following some good NSW runs but gets blinkers on. Selections: 2,1,7,3 Suggested Bet: Enxuto to win Race 8 Even finish. MISS WINSLET was luckless in a key lead up race and will be strong late. WRITTEN BLIGH is most consistent and will prove hard to get past again. CHEERSTOTHAT ha been kept to slightly shorter trips to date but looks talented and gives he impression she’ll relish 1200m. REGAL SECRET will likely roll forward from the draw and give a sight. LINKS will strip fitter third up and may appreciate getting away from the straight course. ARALETTA and ELBA have some claims. Selections: 10,5,6,9 Suggested Bet: Miss Winslet each way Market Market
