Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on May 14, 2024May 14, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Plenty to learn with a number of the debutants showing plenty at the trials/jumpouts. HUSK has race experience and has trialled in great style in Sydney. CHARCOALS has jumped out particularly well for his debut. SIMPLY LUSCIOUS was given a solid hit out and responded well when winning a recent jumpout. MISS ALTAR, EXUMA and CORA LYNN have all jumped out well enough to respect. Selections: 6,3,8,7 Suggested Bet: Happy to look and learn Race 2 BIG JIMMA hit the line strongly first up and will appreciate the extra on a spacious track. GINGER SWEET comes through a strong race two starts back and was only grabbed on the line last start. ONEDAYON stuck on well on debut and appears suited stepping up in distance. ROSE OF ENGLAND also stuck on ok last start and gives the impression she’ll appreciate rising in trip. Selections: 1,9,5,10 Suggested Bet: Big Jimma each way Race 3 HARD TO CROSS ran well behind a subsequent stakes winner first up and looks well placed stepping up in distance with a claim. MATRIARCH ROSE had a confidence booster last start and stays down in the weight after the claim. JAYKAYANN will be better over further but has jumped out well alongside Hard To Cross and could pull out a run on first up. LOCO has obvious upside and has been jumping out well to resume at a suitable trip. ZAMBORGHINI comes through the same race as Hard To Cross and is in the mix. Selections: 8,11,4,3 Suggested Bet: Hard To Cross each way Race 4 Terrific race with a few fillies that look destined to rise well above this grade. GRACIE’S TURF created a big impression on debut and has jumped out well alongside I Wish I Win to resume. HERECOMESTHESTAR is race fit and may appreciate getting away from the Flemington straight. STOKKE had jumped out impressively prior to her dominant debut victory at Mount Gambier. This is obviously tougher but she looks well above average. MRS SUPERGRASS is another with plenty of upside, she controlled the race before quickening impressively to win last start. HEART OF GLASS and WRITTEN BLIGH have bright futures. Selections: 5,1,9,8 Suggested Bet: Gracie’s Rain each way Race 5 CELESTIAL STORM is racing well and seems to appreciate being kept fresh for sprint trips. LITTLE MISS KUBI will strip fitter third up, she was only grabbed on the line last start and is a winner over this course and distance. FLYING ON A LIMB pulled up with a slow recovery and has also won here over this trip. EXCESS is fit, racing well and can make her own luck. Selections: 3,2,6,8 Suggested Bet: Celestial Storm each way Race 6 SCISSOR STEP gets winkers on, he’s trialled well between runs and had excuses last start. RAIN LORD has been jumping out in good style and should be suited by what should be a solid tempo. INUNDATION has been jumping out well, he has obvious talent but has pulled up with physical issues on more than one occasion. RATTLE AND BANG will be part of the speed and has jumped out in typically sharp fashion. Selections: 1,9,2,3 Suggested Bet: Scissor Step each way Race 7 Competitive race. ARIZONA ACTIVIST won an easier race in good style first up should get a good run from the draw. ETINCELLE gets blinkers and a tongue tie, he chased well in a leader dominated race last start and that form held up well at Caulfield on Saturday. NATION STATE can make his own luck and looks well placed dropping in grade with a claim. NUTS ‘N’ BOLTS has the wide draw to overcome but impressed winning an easier race first up. RIVERINA POWER, HERE THE CROWD and LINKS are among the other chances. Selections: 5,6,2,3 Suggested Bet: Arizona Activist each way Race 8 ELOUYOU is building a handy record, he’ll strip fitter second up and should get a good run on speed. THE OPEN may stalk the speed from the inside draw, he’s another building a handy record and shapes as the main danger. TRUFFLE FINDER has had excuses at his last two runs and is in the mix if he secures a start. ALWAYS HAPI will drift back and be charging late. HE’LL RIP has jumped out well between runs and gets a raft of gear changes. Selections: 5,9,16,1 Suggested Bet: Elouyou to win Market Market
