Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on June 13, 2023June 13, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 COEUR VOLANTE had jumped out well leading into her debut, she struck interference in the home straight and still finished alongside last Saturday’s winner Links. LADY IN PINK is fit and in form, she had the right run last time, but won in good style and 1300m looks suitable. CLAVADATSCH quickened nicely after controlling the speed to win on debut and looks progressive. MEG’S MAGIC hit the line strongly first up and will appreciate the rise in distance. Selections: 3,1,2,5 Suggested Bet: Coeur Volante to win Race 2 MIDNIGHT LADY, MY BROTHERS KEEPER and RESERVOIR DOG come through a solidly run 2000m race and looks suited at 2400m. Leaning Midnight Lady over My Brothers Keeper from that race. WHAKAMANA made a wide sweeping run last start, she drops in grade on that run and her form lines up well with My Brothers Keeper from three runs back. PANNIER gives the impression that this trip will suit and has been kept up to the mark with a solid jumpout over 1400m between runs. Selections: 7,1,4,3 Suggested Bet: Midnight Lady to win Race 3 A number of these come through the same race at Mornington that was run at a slow tempo and developed into a dash home. FERLAZZO started favourite in that race, chased as well as possible at that tempo and gets blinkers first time. PERFECT ENDING raced three wide on the slow tempo in the same race, she was able to win the sprint home and looks competitive again. BORN HUSTLER and REGAL VOW closed off as well as they could from back in the field in that race. FRANKLY ELEGANT recorded some good late sectionals winning first up. Selections: 3,1,2,5 Suggested Bet: Ferlazzo to win Race 4 COTEL had plenty of excuses first up but still managed to close off strongly. STARLEA and SMOKIN’ HOLLY come through the same race with Starlea proving too strong on that occasion, while Smokin’ Holly may have ended up in inferior ground after being slowly away. JUNGLE SENSATION, MISS BALVENIE, PINNACE and SHE’S BOOMING have claims. Selections: 1,8,10,2 Suggested Bet: Cotel each way Race 5 HELL HOUND looked to lose her position mid-race last start, she gets blinkers on and should appreciate getting back to 1400m. CUBAN LINK closed of well behind Party for One in a strong race last time. ANAHITA proved she can run a strong 1400m last start. GALGANI might be ready to improve dropping in grade with a claim. ELSIE MAY is a query runner, she had no luck in NZ at her latest run and has been trialling ok. PASSIONE is another that didn’t have much luck last start. Selections: 11,5,14,1 Suggested Bet: Hell Hound each way Race 6 SCANTOON was responsible for an eye-catching run first up and has drawn to settle closer in the run. RIVERPLATE has trialled impressively to resume, he races well here and looks well placed this grade with the claim. MR MOJO RISIN’ ran well in the same race as Scantoon and appears a key winning hope. ICE PICK NICK is fit and consistent, he didn’t have the clearest passage over the concluding stages last time. Selections: 1,2,12,3 Suggested Bet: Scantoon each way Race 7 TASMAN PARK resumed with an encouraging performance, he looks suited stepping up in distance and gets a claim form an in-form apprentice. CHATELAINE appeared to go well when given a quiet time in a recent trial and resumes a a suitable trip. VASMEE resumed in the same race as Tasman Park, he’ll strip fitter and is likely to roll more forward with the rise in trip and the inside draw. EL ROCKO is race fit and drops in grade with a claim. Selections: 5,3,1,2 Suggested Bet: Tasman Park to win Race 8 Typically competitive finish. MAYFAIR SPIRIT has been luckless of late and should appreciate what appears to be a solid tempo. THE CUNNING FOX will strip fitter, he’s trialled well between runs and firmer ground than last start will be a positive. MONARCHS BRAE gets blinkers first time and is another that will appreciate a strong tempo. HARD SQUEEZE races well here and has trialled nicely between runs. Plenty of others with a hope including CLAIHDEAMH MOR, FEUERMOND, FATIGUES and SIR ROCKFORD. Selections: 2,4,14,16 Suggested Bet: Mayfair Spirit each way Market Market
