Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Geelong Preview Posted on October 22, 2024October 22, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 FOLLOWING SEA has returned in great form and can make his own luck. MUKTAMIL is holding his form well and wont lack anything in fitness coming back from 3000m. CHEROKEE BRAVE should be ready third up from a good draw and will appreciate firmer ground than last start. REBADGE and BELLAKAI have claims. Selections: 4,5,10,7 Suggested Bet: Following Sea each way Race 2 ROMANI ITE DOMUM has been good in both starts to date and should get a nice run near the speed. AKICITA has trialled well to resume from a bleeding attack and looked highly promising at his first two starts. THAMES is racing well and will be strong late. UNDER AND OVER and TIFFANY VALENTINE have both jumped out well to resume. Selections: 10,5,11,7 Suggested Bet: Romani Ite Domum each way Race 3 ZASZOU has returned in great form and maps for a good run close to the speed. ELPHINSTONE has trialled well and is effective first up. DUAL PRESSURE will strip fitter for an encouraging return. DE BERGERAC had the pattern to suit last time and will be strong late again. GREAT GUST impressed winning an easier race first up and may settle in a closer position from the inside draw. Selections: 8,5,4,6 Suggested Bet: Zaszou each way Race 4 Tough race. DANGEROUS LIAISONS did enough first up and can hold a more forward spot from the draw. ACTAEON has trialled well to resume and should be suited by a relatively firm surface. WALK OF FAME is racing well and didn’t have the clearest of passages last start. NIGHT PEOPLE has jumped out in good style to resume and should race in a forward position. INTREPID EAGLE and WALKINASTIGHTLINE are among the other winning hopes. Selections: 12,2,14,6 Suggested Bet: Dangerous Liaisons each way Race 5 OXFORD BLUE looks hard to beat and should appreciate 2200m. He impressed winning his maiden at his second start and the Too Darn Discreet form reads well from his debut. HOT TOO GO has been solid at all his runs to date and gives the impression this trip will suit LAVALIER is racing consistently and has been given a good grounding to step up to this distance. HOT MAJESTY was no match for Oxford Blue last start but is another that appears suited stepping up in distance. Selections: 3,4,1,7 Suggested Bet: Oxford Blue to win Race 6 AUTUMN STORM has returned well. He maps for a good run and looks capable of measuring following hid maiden win. HE’LL RIP will strip fitter third up and may push forward to offset the wide draw. TESER is fit, consistent and drawn for a soft run. VERIFIER and MIDNIGHT GLOW will both be strong late. Selections: 11,4,6,2 Suggested Bet: Autumn Storm each way Race 7 UNUSUAL LEGACY didn’t have the best of luck in the Metrop and that form held up ok in the Caulfield Cup. MURAMASA was scratched from the Caulfield Cup due to the wet ground and should find these conditions more suitable. BIRDMAN is the query runner and the early support indicates he’s forward enough to run well. HERMAN HESSE is in great form and maps for another soft run. FRANCESO GUARDI will probably have to go back from the draw but has a powerful finish Selections: 9,3,14,5 Suggested Bet: Unusual Legacy each way Race 8 MOBY DICK was a touch disappointing second up but should be suited by the likely strong tempo. TALBRAGAR has jumped out well to resume and brings an impressive first up record. SCHEELITE crossed the line with Moby Dick last start, so must have a case. YELLOW SAM will strip fitter for a good return and can settle closer from a low draw. ROBRICK has jumped out ok to resume. Selections: 11,7,14,5 Suggested Bet: Moby Dick to win Race 9 OH TOO GOOD is building a handy record, she’s had a number of jumpouts to resume at 1500m and appears to be going great. BELTHIL is most effective first up and has been trialling well. MODOWN should strip fitter third up and has had the race shape against him this prep. BOLTSAVER proved he’s not just a wet tracker last start and is another building a handy record. Selections: 7,2,6,11 Suggested Bet: Oh Too Good each way Market Market
