Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Flemington Preview Posted on December 31, 2024December 31, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Competitive start. REGAL SECRET didn’t have the best of luck at Ballarat and that form held up, albeit in a messy race, at Moonee Valley last Saturday. GARNACHO had no favours but still won impressively first up and looks progressive. DOM displayed good talent in this first prep, he can make his own luck and has jumped out well. STORMY GROVE, XARPO and SEINDEEL have claims. Selections: 6,4,1,2 Suggested Bet: Regal Secret each way Race 2 ENXUTO ran well first up behind a horse that has won again and is suited by the rise in distance. DREAM ALL DAY has a habit of being slowly away but Shinn takes over and there’s no doubting her talent. THE NEGOTIATOR has had excuses at his last couple and may settle closer from a low draw. WASCALY has been freshened and drops in grade. Selections: 3,6,4,2 Suggested Bet: Enxuto each way Race 3 REDOUTE’S NIGHT ran well without the best of luck first up and his only straight run to date was good. APPARATUS hit the line strongly second up and gets winkers on. TRAPEZE WARRIOR covered some ground last start and his only straight run was good on the last day of the Spring Carnival. STREET ELITE gets down in the weights after the claim. CAPPER THIRTYNINE and PYROIS have a case. Selections: 5,4,3,7 Suggested Bet: Redoute’s Night each way Race 4 THE OPEN is flying and can measure up to this stronger company. RUNNING BY was a bit slowly away last time but seemed to have her chance behind MODOWN, who meets her better at the weights. MUNHAMEK will strip fitter for his run at Pakenham and ROLL ON HIGH gave an indication of a return to form in the same race. WINDSTORM didn’t have much luck in that race and will also strip fitter. Selections: 4,7,2,5 Suggested Bet: The Open to win Race 5 STEAL THE SUN hit the line strongly in a leader dominated race last start and should relish 1700m on a spacious track MISS TARZY comes through the same race as Steal The Sun, she will also appreciate this trip but has plenty of weight. BOTH SIDES NOW controlled her last start to win in good style, she looks drawn for a similar run and could prove hard to run down. That form ties in ZAMBEZI KHAN will appreciate a slight rise in distance. MATRON BULLWINKEL is going well for the new stable and will strip fitter third up. Selections: 5,6,3,2 Suggested Bet: Steal The Sun each way Race 6 NEWFOUNDLAND has been kept up to the mark with a trial between runs and stays down in the weights. GOLDMAN was back to something like his best at Pakenham and will give a sight. MURAMASA hit a flat spot but chased well behind Goldman and should appreciate 2800m. INTERPRETATION has been freshened since the Melbourne Cup, his run at Geelong reads well for this. GRAND PIERRO was placed in this race last year and is arguably in career best form now. Selections: 7,2,1,3 Suggested Bet: Newfoundland each way Race 7 ET TU BRUTE won well last start and gives the impression he’ll be suited stepping up to 1800m.BLAZING REBEL is going well for the new stable and appears suited staying around this distance range. CYCLONE HARMONY has been matching motors with Blazing Rebel and is right in the game. THE WESTERN FRONT has impressed at his last two. He defeated COTTON TREE last time, with that horse likely to be significantly improved second up. MOVEFORLEX endured a torrid run last start and can improve with better luck. Selections: 8,7,4,9 Suggested Bet: Et Tu Brute each way Race 8 BIG ME looked unlucky last time and has performed well down the straight. GRAND LARCENY has had the right runs at his last two but is going too well to overlook. MR MAGNUS hit the line strongly first behind a talented mare and will strip fitter. LAYERUPONLAYER has upside and has trialled well between runs. LINKS will be strong late in a race where there appears to be an abundance of speed. Selections: 4,7,13,9 Suggested Bet: Big Me to win Market Market
