Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Caulfield Preview Posted on May 6, 2025May 6, 2025 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 STREET LARK should relish the step up to 1500m after two encouraging runs to date. JILLAROO has been jumping out to kick off her local career at a suitable trip. If JUVIANCE can bring her trial/jumpout form to race day then she’ll be right in it. MINI ANGEL has form that ties in with Street Lark and has obvious claims. PERFECT TEN closed off strongly on debut and will appreciate the rise in trip. Selections: 8,1,2,4 Suggested Bet: Street Lark to win Race 2 Plenty to learn and potentially a strong race. PRINCE TYCOON has impressed winning two recent jumpouts and looks ready to got for his debut. FROSTNIP has also been jumping out impressively and looks a strong winning hope. WITHSHIRE SQUARE has been competitive against some of our better two year olds and has jumped out well to resume, as has NEVERENOUGHLEGO. Selections: 6,8,14,4 Suggested Bet: Prince Tycoon each way Race 3 CATAHOULA looks hard to beat. She’ll strip fitter for a solid return and should get a good run on her preferred dry ground. INEXORABLE has been jumping out ok, he always runs well and his only win to date came first up. TANGO JEWEL won well last time and can make her own luck. THUNDER AWARD looks the other main hope. Selections: 7,4,3,6 Suggested Bet: Catahoula to win Race 4 MUPPET is racing in career best form, she dodged the rain affected ground at Warrnambool and strikes a suitable race. CORONA LAD won well last time and doesn’t appear badly rated from a good draw with a claim. DILLINGER is another in career best form and should get every chance from the inside draw with a claim. CALLMEANICON should be close to peak fitness and will be strong late. RITZYTWENTIES will be part of what looks a reasonable tempo and can give a sight. Selections: 10,2,1,8 Suggested Bet: Muppet each way Race 5 CHANGING COLOURS is building a solid profile, she may settle closer from a favourable draw and looks hard to beat third up. SUANCES had a few things against her stepping up from maiden grade last start and her effort was ok under the circumstances. JUST GLAMOUROUS looks the leader and could prove hard to run down. NEW YORK SCANDAL will be strong late. Selections: 2,10,5,9 Suggested Bet: Changing Colours to win Race 6 Good race with plenty of chances. QUEEN KATRINA came through her encouraging debut to have a confidence boosting win last time and can measure up to this stronger company LEGACY BAY has been jumping out well to resume and there’s plenty of depth to the form around her. MISS SWIFT looked good winning last start and maps for another good run with the benefit of a claim. There was plenty of merit in ATTACHMENTS’ win last time and no surprise to see her measure up. ANGEL OF THE SEA looked good in her first prep and has been jumping out well. Selections: 6,5,2,10 Suggested Bet: Queen Katrina each way Race 7 Another good race. CLOSE TO MIDNIGHT has returned in good form, he has a race fitness edge on a few and gets a tongue tie on. BIANCELLI has looked good winning her two runs to date and has jumped out in good style for her return. FITZPATRICK gets blinkers back on for his return and has also been jumping out well. EXPRESS YO’SELF has jumped out in good style for her return and should be strong late. Selections: 4,3,2,9 Suggested Bet: Close to Midnight each way Race 8 GRAND LARCENY is a winner here and has jumped out in great style to resume from a good draw with Shinn aboard. BIFROST was ok in the leader dominated Discovery at Echuca and will appreciate the drop in grade. LIGHT WISH has plenty of upside and has jumped out well to resume. APPOINTED settled better last time from the inside draw and hopefully Zahra can switch from the wide draw here. Selections: 5,3,18,15 Suggested Bet: Grand Larceny each way Market Market
