Warren Huntly’s Thursday Flemington Preview Posted on November 6, 2024November 6, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 CHANGING COLOURS appeared to be beaten on her merits as an odds on fav by BON MISTRESS last start. Both will strip fitter and the ear muffs come off Changing Colours. CALLMEANICON is a winner at 1700m. She’s retuned in great form and been freshened coming into this. MAKENA has jumped out well since arriving at Flemington. Selections: 7,5,2,4 Suggested Bet: Changing Colours to win Race 2 KALLOS was luckless last start, has a great record here and has jumped out in great style since his last run. OSCAR’S FORTUNE has changed stables since his below par run at Moonee Valley and his previous run ties in with Kallos. RECOMMENDATION comes through the same race as Kallos and Oscar’s Fortune and has a case. SPACEWALK was below his best on Saturday but his previous straight form gives him a chance. Selections: 1,2,3,4 Suggested Bet: Kallos to win Race 3 ALMA RISE is building a handy record and may be better on firmer ground than her last start victory. AUTUMN STORM has retuned in great form as a gelding and looks capable of taking another step in grade. FLAMIN’ ROMANS is fit and racing well. BULAWAYO chased well behind Alma Rise two starts back and should appreciate stepping back in in distance.. HAALAND is in the game should he make the field. Selections: 13,16,1,14 Suggested Bet: Alma Rise each way Race 4 MOLLYNICKERS looks suited stepping up to 1600m and swaps a nose roll for blinkers. RUNNING BY was disadvantaged by a wet track last start and shapes as a big improver with a tongue tie going on. POIFECT has jumped out well between run and is another that will appreciate firmer ground. SO GLAMOROUS closed off well in a key lead up race and looks suited stepping up in distance. Selections: 7,5,4,8 Suggested Bet: Mollynickers each way Race 5 SABAN may have been a bit flat second up and should appreciate getting back to Flemington. HE’LL RIP has form that ties in with Saban and gives the impression 1800m will be ok. VERDAD is fit, consistent and may be looking for this trip now. MAKTOOB should be suited at 1800m on a spacious track third up. Selections: 13,14,8,3 Suggested Bet: Saban each way Race 6 OH TOO GOOD has the wide draw to contend with but has plenty of upside and tactical versatility. MAGARTEN is most consistent and appears best suited around 1600m. TORRANZINO has been kept fresh for this series, his form ties in with Magarten and he’ll be strong late. HIYAAM PROUD is another drawn wide but chased well behind Oh Too Good and gets a weight swing. HOOAH HAVANA improved with blinkers on last start and maps well. Selections: 5,4,12,14 Suggested Bet: Oh Too Good to win Race 7 VESTAS sprinted impressively to win on debut and has jumped out well down the straight leading into this. I FOUND YOU has straight track experience and trialled well to kick off her second prep. BRIDAL WALTZ may have drawn the right part of the track and will appreciate an extra 100m. BOLD BASTILLE has been freshened and will give them something to chase. ZOUBABY and SEASCAPE have claims. Selections: 16,11,14,3 Suggested Bet: Vestas each way Race 8 TREASURETHE MOMENT has drawn wide but won the Wakeful in dominant fashion and gives the impression 2500m will be ok. HARLEM QUEEN stuck on well in the Spring Champion and gets B.Shinn from a good draw. POWERS OF OPAL seemed to have her chance in the Wakeful but is likely to have been prepared to peak here. TOO DARN DISCREET has returned in outstanding form and is drawn to get every chance to run 2500m. Selections: 1,3,5,2 Suggested Bet: Treasurethe Moment to win Race 9 POISON CHALICE looked unlucky at Moonee Valley and is suited dropping back to handicap conditions. LIGHT INFANTRY MAN was also luckless in the same race at Moonee Valley. AIN’TNODEELDUN has jumped out in great style since his first up run and is a likely improver. GLOBE will also strip fitter for a good return. Selections: 11,2,4,9 Suggested Bet: Poison Chalice to win Market Market
