Warren Huntly’s Saturday Sandown Preview Posted on June 14, 2024June 14, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 HUSK has been kept fresh since quickening nicely to win over this course and distance first up and looks hard to beat again. BLUE RENEGADE and INTEREST POINT are both having great first preps and matched motors last time. There’s a weight swing in favour of Blue Renegade but doubt there’s much between them. CORA LYNN chased bravely behind Husk on debut and has jumped out well since. Selections: 4,2,1,5 Suggested Bet: Husk each way Race 2 ENNA’S DREAM may need some luck from the draw but she got keen second up rising to 1400m and may settle better with that run under her belt. LA FRACAS impressed winning his maiden on debut, he looks progressive and is open to improvement. Any give in the ground will be a positive for RIPROAR who is race fit and going ok. TEN DEEP is another that rises from maiden grade but she justified her short quote at last time and should get a good run on speed. Selections: 6,7,2,10 Suggested Bet: Enna’s Dream Each way Race 3 EL ROCKO struck his preferred rain-affected ground to bounce back to form last start and conditions should be in his favour again. RUSSIAN METEOR will need some luck from the draw but has some upside and has jumped out in great style between runs. TRUFFLE FINDER is fit, in form and the form around his is holding up. OUTTA COMPTON is another fit, in form galloper and he maps for a good run. Selections: 4,11,15,5 Suggested Bet: El Rocko each way Race 4 BATRANA was an eye catcher first up, she appears well placed dropping in grade and stepping up to 1300m from a decent draw. HEARCOMESTHESTAR is racing well and giving the impression she could be suited stepping up to this trip. PARADISE CITY was solid running second and beating home Batrana last time, so must have a case. SOCIALLY SASSY won her maiden in impressive fashion first up looks capable of measuring up. DONEGAL gave an indication of a return to her early promising form last start. Selections: 5,4,1,15 Suggested Bet: Batrana to win Race 5 ARQANA has been racing well without much luck and should appreciate stepping up to 1600m. BLUE MOON will strip fitter for two encouraging runs this campaign and gets a valuable claim for an in-form apprentice. GREAT TASTE is racing in good form without winning this prep and beat Blue Moon home last start. MISS TARZY has been jumping out ok to kick off at a suitable trip. BINDING showed good fight to win at her first Victorian start and can give a sight again. Selections: 14,5,10,4 Suggested Bet: Arqana each way Race 6 Any give in the ground is a bonus for JABBAWOCKEEZ, who ran well after covering ground on a good track last time. HARD TO CROSS had the right run to score last start but he’s fit, in form and loves racing here. CRACKERJACK PRINCE will strip fitter third up and may have peaked on his run second up. FALCON OF MALTA displayed good fight to score last start and can roll forward and give a sight again. The imported CONCORD has jumped out well and is unbeaten on soft ground. CHARTRES, HE’S BEST and BIG BREW have claims. Selections: 13,1,7,9 Suggested Bet: Jabbawockeez each way Race 7 Competitive race. MRS CHRISSIE is fit, racing well and is best suited kept to sprint trips. ETIENNE is a previous first up winner and has been jumping out in typically good style. WONDEREACH was ridden positively to defeat Mrs Chrisse and others last time, so must have a case. RATTLE AND BANG will strip fitter third up and appreciate getting his toe in he ground. PORT ALBERT and MAGIC MAX are among the other winning hopes. Selections: 13,12,18,10 Suggested Bet: Mrs Chrissie each way Race 8 WINDSTORM is sure to be improved by his fresh run behind NICOLINI VITO and the form from that race should hold up. IS IT ME looks ready for the step back up to 1400m and is more likely to find the clear galloping room he likes here as opposed to last time. SHOWMANSHIP ran well against the pattern in the Wangoom and has been kept fresh for this. SO RISQUE is fit, consistent and comes through the Nicolini Vito/Windstorm race. Selections: 8,4,16,2 Suggested Bet: Windstorm each way Race 9 JIMMY THE BEAR is racing well, he should be at his peak now and is likely to appreciate the Hillside circuit. SMOKIN’ ROMANS has returned in good form, he may be looking for further but doesn’t looks too badly treated after the claim. CADMUS has been freshened after covering ground last time and gets some weight relief in this grade. DASHING fought hard when challenged last time and will give a sight again. PUDDING has a weight swing in his favour on Jimmy The Bear from their meeting in Adelaide but is likely to get more pressure than last start. Selections: 4,1,16,7 Suggested Bet: Jimmy The Bear each way Same Race Multi: Jimmy The Bear (Top 2) + Smokin’ Romans (Top 4) Market Market
