Warren Huntly’s Saturday Moonee Valley Preview Posted on August 23, 2024August 23, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 DASHING DUCHESS is building a good staying record and looks hard to beat dropping to the minimum weight. LORDSHIP chased strongly in a similar race at Flemington and will strip fitter third up. BRILLIANT VENTURE is going well for the new stable but meets Dashing Duchess worse at the weights for his last start second placing. THINK ‘N’ FLY can give a sight rising the speed. WYCLIF has had excuses at his last couple. Selections: 4,3,8,5 Suggested Bet: Dashing Duchess to win Race 2 DAGGERS impressed winning on debut, quickening in the manner of a horse that can race through the grades. POLYGLOT has got his career off to a great start, the form around his is holding up and he’s jumped out nicely between runs. RUE DE ROYALE resumes without a jumpout or trial. He’s still a maiden but was competitive against some of our best two year olds. LAST DRUID just missed last start and is in the game if he settles well enough to run 1200m strongly. STOLI BOLLI won his maiden well on debut and has claims. Selections: 6,8,2,3 Suggested Bet: Daggers to win Race 3 TRUNK will push forward and may control the race from either lead or outside lead. EVAPORATE broke the maiden well last time and may roll across with Trunk and stalk the speed. DOM was beaten by a smart one last start following his impressive debut. He looks likely to control the speed with Trunk. SAMAAN CITY was disappointing last start but his run behind Dom first up gives him some hope. LEVALIER has trialled ok in Sydney following his maiden win and should appreciate this trip. Have to respect COSMIC COCO if the stable back him up so quickly. Selections: 2,5,1,6 Suggested Bet: Trunk each way Race 4 IMMORTAL STAR was a touch unlucky after being slowly away first up and will appreciate stepping up to 1200m. MANOLO BLING won well on debut and has jumped out in good style since that victory. PHOTOGRAPH has retuned in great form and will be strong late coming back slightly in distance. TOO DARN DISCREET created a good impression in her first prep. She may need further but should be charging home. Selections: 2,1,3,8 Suggested Bet: Immortal Star each way Race 5 LINCOLN ROCKS is creating a good impression since arriving in Australia won a slightly easier race here in good style last start. STAR VEGA coped well with the step up to 2000m in a high pressure race last start holding off RISE TO IT and both have strong claims. PESTO is the query runner for the new stable that has an outstanding record with tried horses. Selections: 7,11,16,5 Suggested Bet: Playing multiples around 7,11,16 & 5 Race 6 Even race. REGAL ZEUS is racing in great form and will make his own luck. TROSETTEE is also in good form. he’ll be strong late and any rain during the day would be a bonus . GOOD OIL will be better over further but has jumped out well could pull out a good fresh run at decent odds. NAILS MURPHY, AIMING and STEP ASIDE have a case. Selections: 8,7,2,13 Suggested Bet: Regal Zeus each way Same Race Multi: Regal Zeus (Top 2) + Trosettee (Top 4) Race 7 SEA WHAT I SEE was a revelation last prep, concede she was well placed but that appears to be the case again getting in on the minimum weight. She’s jumped out well to resume. HOLYMANZ was luckless first up, he’ll strip fitter and maps well. JENNILALA brings a strong first up record and has jumped out nicely behind Pride of Jenni. RHAPSODY CHIC is fit, flying and would be advantaged by any rain. RHEINBERG is fit, consistent and can make his own luck. Selections: 9,2,3,7 Suggested Bet: Sea What I See to win Race 8 MORNINGTON GLORY was dominant here on a soft 6 rated track in an easier race last time and with any luck from the outside draw looks hard to beat again. SANS DOUTE has been explosive since being ridden off the speed and will be charging late. BOLD BASTILLE showed good speed during impressive two year old season and has jumped out in typically sharp fashion to resume. ASHFORD STREET has some claims on his best form. Selections: 5,7,9,4 Suggested Bet: Mornington Glory to win Race 9 EXTRATWO will strip fitter for an encouraging return and may be drawn to advantage by this time of the day. RAIKOKE was given a solid hit out to win a recent jumpout and has a touch of class. SUPARAZI has jumped out in great style but the inside draw could be problematic by this stage. SHOVE OVER will strip fitter and maps for a soft run if the inside is still ok. PROWLING and HOME RULE are among the other winning hopes. Selections: 8,4,1,10 Suggested Bet: Extratwo each way Market Market
