Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on October 3, 2024October 3, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 MOBY DICK couldn’t have been more impressive in a similar race first up and looks even better suited stepping up to 1200m. WOLFY chased well behind Moby Dick and will also appreciate the slight rise in distance. No surprise to see SCHEELITE back up quickly after going to the line untested last week and he can improve on his first up effort behind Moby Dick. PRINZERRO had a confidence booster last start and handles the straight well. TITAN OF CHOICE may need further but was doing his best work late being a talented mare last time. Selections: 5,10,7,8 Suggested Bet: Moby Dick to win Race 2 Obviously plenty to learn with a field of two year old debutants. RUMBLE TOWN has looked good at the jumpouts and seemed to travel well being held together down the straight in latest hit out. PRICE TAG has also been jumping out nicely and appeared to handle the straight well in preparation for her debut. SISSTAINABLE looks a natural runner and also looked comfortable down the straight. TREMONTI and GAMBLER have trialled together in Sydney, with Gambler showing plenty of early dash and Tremonti finishing off strongly when asked for an effort. Selections: 2,7,9,4 Suggested Bet: Happy to look and learn Race 3 SCARY has appreciated stepping up in distance at his last two and gives the impression he’ll relish 1800m on a big track. KEENELAND is also progressing well, he just kept getting stronger last time and seems like he will also be suited at this track and trip. SERGEANT MAJOR was below expectations last start but his luckless previous run would make him hard to beat. TRUTH OR DARE looks a real staying type who will keep grinding away. LAVALIER (blinkers on) and GIDDY UP WARRIOR come through the same race and have had the benefit of a run at this trip. Selections: 5,6,2,7 Suggested Bet: Scary each way Race 4 DECLICHY BOULEVARD looks hard to beat stepping up to 1600m on a spacious track after chasing well over 1400m at Caulfield second up. TOO DARN DISCREET got thigs back on track last start and has shown enough talent to be competitive at this grade. WINGS OF DESIRE, a half sister to Winx, overcame early trouble to go down narrowly last start and looks progressive. COMANCHE MISS is still a maiden but has measured up well at stakes level and should appreciate 1600m. Selections: 4,7,5,6 Suggested Bet: Declichy Boulevard to win Same Race Multi: Declichy Boulevard (Top 2) + Too Darn Discreet (Top 4) Race 5 BODYGUARD won the Maribyrnong Trial Stakes down the straight this day last year and measured up well against the best of his age group as a two year old. He’s trialled in great style to resume. FIRST SETTLER’s only defeat to date came at the hands of Growing Empire las start with that galloper subsequently running a narrow second at Group 1 WFA. The inside draw could be some query. RESERVE BANK has impressed winning in easier company and gives the impression he can measure up. BITTERCREEK has been jumping out well to resume and the Broadsiding/Growing Empire form is obviously strong. LOFTY ARCH looked good winning on debut and gets blinkers but takes a quantum leap in grade. Selections: 2,4,7,1 Suggested Bet: Bodyguard each way Race 6 ROYAL CHAMPION brings some strong international form lines and has jumped out impressively to kick off his Australian career. ARRAN BAY brings a strong second up record, he’s best with clear air and may settle in a forward position stalking the speed. JIGSAW is yet to prove himself at 1400m but he’s been jumping out well and could prove hard to run down. VON HAUKE ran ok first up and will appreciate the rise in distance. PLENTY OF AMMO has some upside and has trialled ok to resume. Selections: 1,5,8,3 Suggested Bet: Royal Champion each way Race 7 BERKSHIRE BREEZE chased well behind POINT KING last start and can settle closer from a low draw. Both looks leading chances again MOSTLY CLOUDY was closing of well just behind the placegetters in that race has obvious claims. POSITIVITY has retuned in good form, she got the right run to score last start but should be even better suited stepping up to this trip. SAINT GEORGE appeared to have his chance behind Positivity but will strip fitter and gets a tongue tie. Selections: 16,6,9,10 Suggested Bet: Berkshire Breeze each way Race 8 Deep race with plenty of angles. ATISHU will be close to peak fitness, she loves it here and probably found it too wet last start. BUCKAROO has found winning form in Australia and should relish the step up to 2000m following his impressive Underwood victory. VIA SISTINA may have been a bit flat second up and/or found the track too wet last time and obviously has the talent to bounce back. YOUNG WERTHER races well here and should get a good run from the draw. WARMONGER did more than enough first up and loos suited stepping up to 2000m. ELIYASS faces his toughest test in Australia but is unbeaten at 2000m and seems to handle all track conditions. Selections: 7,3,4,10 Suggested Bet: Atishu each way Race 9 RIGHT TO PARTY is most effective down the straight and should appreciate firmer ground than last start. JOHNNY ROCKER had excuses at Group 1 WFA level last week and will strip fitter third up. MAGIC TIME is a proven Group 1 performer, she’s has jumped out well I but the inside draw may not be ideal. I AM UNSTOPPABLE has performed well down the straight and has trialled nicely for the new stable. ARKANSAW KID and SGHIRRIPA are among the other winning hopes in another deep race. Selections: 14,12,4,10 Suggested Bet: Right To Party each way Race 10 REVOLUTIONARY MISS ran well first up and looks suited stepping up to 1400m from a favourable draw. SKYBIRD has to overcome the wide draw but she caught the eye resuming and is unbeaten second up. MISS ARIA was the beneficiary of an amazing ride to win last time, she also has a wide draw to overcome but will strip fitter for her last start victory. POIFECT justified her heavy support to score in a slightly easier race first up and will strip fitter. Selections: 6,4,9,8 Suggested Bet: Revolutionary Miss each way Market Market
