Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on July 5, 2024July 5, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 I FOUND YOU impressed winning on debut on heavy ground appears to have plenty of upside. EARTH GOD also impressed last start and will make his own luck. ALDOLFITO has trialled well and gives the impression he will be strong late. GOLDEN WARRIOR has got his career off to a good start and will also make his own luck despite the drop back to 1200m. Selections: 3,2,4,1 Suggested Bet: I Found You to win Race 2 BERKSHIRE BREEZE looks a justified short-priced favourite based on his dominant win here last time. TARAMANSOUR endured a wide run when grabbed late by BORN A KING last start and that form is likely to represent the main challenge. ABERFELDIE BOY was below his best in that race and is capable of better. Selections: 3,4,1,2 Suggested Bet: Berkshire Breeze to win Race 3 CRAIG wasn’t as dominant as most expected last start but he may be more explosive ridden a touch quieter. RISE AT DAWN is one all with Craig in his last two starts, he’ll push forward and give another great sight. LE FRACAS will appreciate 1600m. MY ROCA FELLA won his maiden by ten lengths last start and the second, third and fourth horses have broke their maidens at their next starts. Selections: 2,1,8,10 Suggested Bet: Playing multiples around 2,1 & 8 Race 4 SNEAKY SUNRISE will need some luck from the outside draw and is getting up in the wights but she’s developing a good winning culture and gives the impression she’ll relish 1600m. PISCES chased bravely behind Sneaky Sunrise last start, he may roll more forward and looks an obvious danger. JENNI’S MEADOW comes through the same race and gives the impression she’ll appreciate the extra 200m. WHATELEY is sure to have derived benefit from his encouraging debut in the same race. Selections: 2,1,3,7 Suggested Bet: Sneaky Sunrise to win Race 5 Competitive race. BRAZEN LADY won a key lead up race here last time and should secure another good run behind the speed. IN HER STRIDE finished ahead of Brazen Lady at her last start and maps well. ELECTRIC IMPULSE lost some momentum at a crucial stage behind Brazen Lady at her latest run. STARLIGHT SCOPE led up that race and may be better suited with the rail back in the true position. FEARLESS WRITER and BELLE SAVOIR are in the game. Selections: 6,8,7,2 Suggested Bet: Brazen Lady each way Race 6 STEEL RUN is racing well and gives the impression he’ll be suited getting out to 2500m. AZTEC STATE is up in the weights for his recent wins but has been given a solid grounding to be tested at this trip. ELUID finished behind Aztec State last start but was predominantly on speed in his NZ runs and may adopt a more positive role. CROWN OF CATHERINE was disadvantaged by a slow tempo last time and shapes as a genuine stayer. Selections: 4,1,2,11 Suggested Bet: Steel Run to win Race 7 PRESS DOWN is racing in a rich vein of form and his dominant win in the Gold Topaz at Swan Hill reads well for this. VELOCE CARRO is most effective down the straight and his clash with CROSSHAVEN last start could represent the main threat to Press Down. WHO DARES and RANTING come through that race and have some claims. Selections: 7,11,3,4 Suggested Bet: Press Down to win Race 8 DUKE DE SESSA has trialled in great style to resume and he wasn’t disgraced at Group 1 level last spring. MUNHAMEK has proved to be somewhat of an iron horse and doesn’t looks badly treated under the weight scale. WINDSTORM and KING MAGNUS were close up behind Munhamek last start and have obvious claims. POUNDING may be suited coming back to 1600m on reasonably form ground. Selections: 2,1,7,3 Suggested Bet: Duke De Sessa each way Same Race Multi: Duke De Sessa (Top 2) + Munhamek (Top 4) Race 9 PHARARI has been most impressive this preparation and looks the one to beat with her upside on the minimum weight. RIGHT TO PARTY was well ridden to win a key lead up race and is sure to appreciate the extra 100m. FLEETWOOD was enormous after conceding so much ground at the start last week. BOSSY NIC backs up from a strong win last week. She’s getting up in the weights but has earned it in this grade. WALLENDA didn’t have the best of luck last start. Selections: 12,9,2,1 Suggested Bet: Pharari to win Market Market
