Warren Huntly’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on November 28, 2024November 28, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Rain forecast during the day could see that track in the soft/heavy range. HIYAAM PROUD is racing in great form and maps for a good run. NEARING LIBERTY is also having a terrific prep and coming back to 1800m looks suitable. AUTUMN SLIDE is racing through the grades in impressive fashion and gives the impression she’ll relish 1800m. SABAN had excuses and pulled up lame last start. Selections: 6,8,10,5 Suggested Bet: Hiyaam Proud to win Race 2 Plenty to learn. TYCOON STAR looked good winning on debut and has that race experience advantage over the rest of the field. PALM ANGEL, ROSANGELO and USAIN BOSS have all looked good at the jumpouts but virtually all have shown something and it’s hard to have a firm opinion. Selections: 1,7,9,5 Suggested Bet: Happy to look and learn Race 3 ALMA RISE impressed at Flemington and looks a promising stayer but doubt she wants it too wet. DIVUS ROMULUS FLAMIN’ ROMANS was no match but chased well behind Alma Rise at Flemington and gets a weight swing in his favour. MATHEW backs up from an even run at Cranbourne and any rain would enhance his chances. PESTO hasn’t had much luck of late. KADAVAR brings solid Sydney form. Selections: 12,9,15,6 Suggested Bet: Alma rise to win (if soft 5 or better) Race 4 SHE’S GOT PIZZAZZ looked unlucky in a key lead up race and gives the impression 1400m will be ok. GRINZINGER POD and ON DISPLAY both ran well in the same race and look suited at this trip. PHENOM was luckless last start in Sydney and may push forward from the wide draw. SUPERCILIOUS may be better suited coming back to 1400m. Selections: 2,5,12,3 Suggested Bet: She’s Got Pizzazz to win Race 5 GARZA BLANCA found trouble down the straight first up and brings a strong second up record. FANCIFY comes back to 1200m but is still likely to roll forward and give a sight. RED HOT NICC was below his best last time but will strip fitter third up and his first up run was encouraging. I AM UNSTOPPABLE drops in grade and gets blinkers first time but look short in early markets. IT’SOURTIME has run well here without winning and is generally competitive tis grade. Selections: 8,3,6,1 Suggested Bet: Garza Blanca each way Race 6 PISCES seems to have improved since being gelded and prepared to overlook his previous attempt at 1600m prior to that gear change. BITTERCREEK has form that ties in with Pisces, he stuck on well at G1 level last start and beat all but Broadsiding at his only attempt at 1600m. SNITZANOVA was brave winning at Spring Stakes at Newcastle over this trip after covering ground. FRENCH RULER ran second in that race after a more economical run than the winner. Selections: 2,1,10,5 Suggested Bet: Pisces to win Race 7 NEW ENERGY will be suited dropping back from G1 WFA company and stuck on well behind Mr Brightside last start. SIRILEO MISS improved nicely to almost pinch the Matriarch Stakes third up and should give another great sight AIN’TNODEELDUN and POISON CHALICE come through the same race and both looks suited stepping up to 1800m. APULIA and CHARTERHOUSE have claims. Selections: 2,7,3,12 Suggested Bet: New Energy each way Same Race Multi: New Energy (Top 2) + Sirileo Miss (Top 4) Race 8 ARAPAHO looks well placed stepping up to this trip after staying on well behind Via Sistina at Flemington. KINGSWOOD isn’t well suited by the WFA conditions but is flying since joining the Bedggood stable and had excuses in Sydney. BERKELEY SQUARE continues to race well an may be better suited coming back to 2400m. ITTLE MIX should be at peak fitness and will appreciate stepping up to this trip. Selections: 3,14,6,15 Suggested Bet: Arapaho each way Race 9 TUVALU looks hard to beat under the WFA scale after his good return in the G1 Sir Rupert Clarke. BUFFALO RIVER had excuses in the same race and his previous run was an indication of a return to form. TAMERLANE did enough first up and should get a good run stalking the speed. ARKANSAW KID is some query at 1400m but didn’t get clear at Cranbourne last week and his form since being gelded warrants another attempt at this trip. Selections: 1,3,4,2 Suggested Bet: Tuvalu to win Race 10 REGAL VOW takes another rise in grade and is on the up and has always indicated the ability to progress to this level. RUNNING BY probably doesn’t want it too wet but races well here and ticked the 1600m box last start. ELECTRIC IMPULSE has been running well on dry ground and her chances would be further enhanced on a wet track. SO GLAMOROUS chased well behind Running By last start and has claims in a deep race. MOLLYNICKERS and SERARSANA are also in the game. Selections: 11,5,7,13 Suggested Bet: Regal Vow each way Market Market
