Warren Huntly’s Friday Moonee Valley Preview Posted on September 26, 2024September 26, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 A number of these have also accepted for Sandown Saturday, so deductions could be significant. GALLANT SON impressed riding the speed when winning on debut and has jumped out well to resume. STOLLI BOLLI has a fitness edge, he’s measured up well at his last two and was forced to cover ground last start. STANLEY EXPRESS is another with upside, he won the Showdown on debut and has been jumping out well. THAMES, STAY FOCUSED (blinkers on) and ALDOLFITO are in the game. Selections: 8,6,3,7 Suggested Bet: Gallant Son to win Race 2 WAR MACHINE came a long way last prep. He has the wide draw to overcome but has tactical speed and has been jumping out well. PEACE TREATY has a fitness edge, she was a dominant winner at her only start here and may control the tempo again. GUMDROPS is a multiple stakes winner here at her only two starts and has jumped out quite well. MISS ICELANDIC has jumped out nicely between runs. BARAQEIL will strip fitter for a solid run down the straight. BEL AIR has been trialling/jumping out well. Selections: 10,14,7,9 Suggested Bet: War Machine to win Race 3 As you’d expect for a 955m race, there appears to be a strong tempo. HOLY RACKET will appreciate that solid tempo and has trialled well. MARBLE NINE is fit, racing well and may find a spot behind the speed. CELUI has jumped out in great style and flies first up. FRILLED is unbeaten here and has trialled well. Selections: 9,2,4,8 Suggested Bet: Holy Racket each way Race 4 Great race despite the small field. PRIDE OF JENNI bounced back to close to her best second up and with further improvement should be even harder to run down. MR BRIGHTSIDE will obviously be chasing her hard late. He had ANTINO as an ally last time and if Antino begins cleanly, he may provide another cart along to Mr Brightside. ATTRITION has jumped out well between runs. Selections: 4,1,2,3 Suggested Bet: Pride Of Jenni to win Race 5 Deep race. TOBEORNOTTOBE raced in inferior ground down the straight first up and will strip fitter. GEEGEES MISTRUTH measured right up at Caulfield and has trialled well back in Tassie since. MATISSE and BENAGIL have both trialled/jumped out well to resume. BELLATRIX STAR impressed winning down the straight second up and should strip even fitter. BOLD BASTILLE is some query at 1200m but stuck on ok behind Bellatrix Star. ENEEZA has jumped out ok and is among the winning hopes. Selections: 5,4,6,11 Suggested Bet: Tobeornottobe each way Race 6 EVAPORATE is having a great prep and gets around this track well. He may take a sit behind DAWN SERVICE here, who shapes another strong winning hope. RUE DE ROYALE was competitive at the elite level as a two year old. He had a confidence booster at Bendigo and the form from that race is holding up well. DETROIT CITY finished alongside DAGGERS behind Dawn Service and I’m inclined o think Detroit City will take more improvement from that run. Selections: 2,3,1,5 Suggested Bet: Evaporate each way Race 7 Another great race. HAYASUGI may settle a bit closer from the low draw and will need some luck if she does but she’ll relish the rise to 1200m and it’s hard to overlook her first up run. I WISH I WIN was terrific in the same race and will be charging late stepping up to 1200m. GROWING EMPIRE takes on older horses for the first time but looks highly promising and gets the weight relief. ESTRIELLA is a class mare that will strip fitter and should appreciate 1200m. Selections: 13,1,12,8 Suggested Bet: Hayasugi each way Race 8 GRINZINGER BELLE impressed winning first up at Flemington and looks to get control again. She had excuses second up last prep after a similar first up win. JENNILALA has trialled well since an encouraging return behind the promising Wil John. LADY JONES and ALSEPHINA were safely held by Grinzinger Belle last start but both will strip fitter and be suited on firmer ground. MATRIARCH ROSE has had excuses at her two runs this prep and backs up quickly. Selections: 1,7,6,5 Suggested Bet: Grinzinger Belle to win Market Market
