Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 30, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 DONTSTOPBELIEVIN (5) has impressed at her last two starts after facing the breeze and running in the placings against stronger fields. She can be driven aggressively here and looks the one to beat. MILEYS DESIRE (2) is racing fairly and should be a big improver from this draw. AMERICAN TOUR (9) was a good all-the-way winner here two starts back and must be considered despite the draw. PARISIAN PARTYGIRL (7) drops in class tonight but is better suited when she can race on the pegs. Tips: 5 2 9 7 Suggested Bet: DONTSTOPBELIEVIN (5) to win. Race 2 REACHER (3) led throughout last start and looks suited by the sprint trip if he can find the front against this moderate line-up. MAJOR SHARD (1) was crossed from this barrier last start but went on to record a strong victory and looks a major player here. ITSNOTOVA (7) ran on strongly to finish 4th at his first run back from a spell and will be suited by the small field. ALLWOOD GLOW (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and looks a good place chance. Tips: 3 1 7 10 Suggested Bet: REACHER (3) to win. Race 3 SAY IT NOW (1) is racing fairly but will give plenty of cheek if he can hold up at the start over this distance. OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (5) is racing well but always finds one better and is better suited over a longer trip. CAPTAIN MANNERING (10) has a had a short break since disappointing at his last start but would be right in this if anywhere near his best. ANGEL IN WHITE (2) has reasonable NSW form and is drawn to play a part at her first start in WA. Tips: 1 5 10 2 Suggested Bet: CAPTAIN MANNERING (10) each way. Race 4 TOUCH OF SUCCESS (1) is first-up after a 10-month break and hasn’t trialled but would lead and be very hard to catch if anywhere near his top. ATHABASCAN (6) raced well in the Nights Of Thunder series and will appreciate the drop in class. MISTER BUSHIDO (8) raced in stronger company last time in and warmed up for this assignment with an impressive Pinjarra trial victory. BLACK JACK ZAC (2) was placed in the Nights Of Thunder final last week and is drawn to get a nice run close to the speed. Tips: 1 6 8 2 Suggested Bet: TOUCH OF SUCCESS (1) to win. Race 5 HANDSANDWHEELS (1) started from the backline and charged home to finish a close-up 4th in the WA Cup. He looks the leader and should prove very hard to catch. GALACTIC STAR (3) was held up for a run at crucial stages in both Cups but is drawn to be prominent and make his own luck tonight. IDEAL LINER (2) wasn’t suited when caught in the breeze behind a runaway leader last week but can bounce back from this draw. EL JACKO (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be dangerous late. Tips: 1 3 2 10 Suggested Bet: HANDSANDWHEELS (1) to win. Race 6 IM SOXY (2) has a losing sequence of 19 but performed well when 3rd in a stronger field here last week and gets his chance to bounce back into the winners’ circle tonight. MIGHTY SANTANA (6) won a heat of the Nights Of Thunder before running a strong 2nd here last week and looks the obvious danger. MON LILLIES (4) has led throughout to win two of her last three starts and will give some cheek if she crosses at the start. MCARDLES GEM (1) should get a lovely run on the pegs and won’t be far away. Tips: 2 6 4 1 Suggested Bet: IM SOXY (2) to win. Race 7 BRAEVIEW BONDI (1) led throughout from this draw two starts back and then was a brave 2nd to Mighty Santana. He should hold up at the start and looks the winner here. MAJOR SPOILT (4) is racing consistently and should be in the money if he enjoys an economical trip close to the speed. ONEONTHEWOOD (7) has been placed at 10 of his last 13 starts and will be running on strongly again. SOKYS BIGBULLETT (8) hasn’t hit his straps this time in but can press forward to the breeze tonight and can improve. Tips: 1 4 7 8 Suggested Bet: BRAEVIEW BONDI (1) to win. Race 8 SIR GALAHAD (1) won his last two starts before a short break and sprinted home in quick halves on both occasions. He has the barrier advantage over his main rivals and can press for an all-the-way victory. GRINNY VINNIE (3) has won two of his last three starts and should be right in the finish from this draw. ICONIC VALOUR (4) won three on end before being retired from the event last week and looks the other winning chance. DENNIS (2) is drawn to get a lovely run and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 1 3 4 2 Suggested Bet: SIR GALAHAD (1) to win. Race 9 OUR ALFIE ROMEO (1) led throughout to defeat a similar field here two starts back and the same scenario looks extremely likely from her perfect draw. GOTTA GO GABBANA (4) ran a great 2nd against the boys last week but is likely to be in the breeze tonight. FAKE NEWS (5) is absolutely flying but the barrier makes it tough. DONEGAL ART CHOKIN (2) doesn’t have the class of the top three but is drawn to get a soft run and can be placed at odds. Tips: 1 4 5 2 Suggested Bet: OUR ALFIE ROMEO (1) to win. Race 10 GARDYS LEGACY (2) has impressed with two strong victories this time and is clearly the one to beat here. WITHOUTTHETUH (1) ran a solid 2nd to Howard Hughes here last week and gets his chance from the pole draw. ALTA ENGEN (3) has won three of his four race starts and was only beaten 3.3m by Gardys Legacy last start so must be considered. JASPERVELLABEACH (4) hasn’t been able to get back to his 2YO form but can be placed here. Tips: 2 1 3 4 Suggested Bet: GARDYS LEGACY (2) to win. Market Market
