Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 24, 2019May 24, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 SPEED MAN (1) hasn’t won at his four starts this time in but his efforts have had plenty of merit. He faced the breeze when 2nd here last week and should be too good if he holds up at the start. BECHERS BROOK (8) resumed from a spell with an impressive Pinjarra victory and is the other class horse in the field. IDEAL ONE (3) was a solid 2nd in good time here last week and shouldn’t be far away. THREE KINGS (10) doesn’t have the class of his rivals but looks a place chance from this draw. Tips: 1 8 3 10 Suggested Bet: SPEED MAN (1) to win. Race 2 SOHO WONDER (1) was an impressive all-the-way winner four starts back and ran a nice 3rd to King Of Swing since that run. He looks the leader tonight and should give them something to catch over the sprint trip. VINCENZO PERUGGIA (2) will press forward at the start and should be right in the finish. GOLDEN STATE (9) ran an eye-catching 3rd at his first run back from a spell but has a tough draw to overcome. MAD ROBBER (4) led and was only bloused out late in 1.54.8 here last week and must be considered. Tips: 1 2 9 4 Suggested Bet: SOHO WONDER (1) to win. Race 3 MAJOR POCKET (2) has been placed at his past four starts, including a strong 3rd here last week. He is drawn inside his main rivals and gets his chance to return to the winners’ circle. OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (8) has faced the breeze when 2nd at his last two starts and should be right in the finish again. QUICK STRIDE (11) bounced back to his best with an impressive Bunbury victory at his last start and has a nice trailing draw. DESTINED TO RULE (1) has finished 2nd at his past two starts and shouldn’t be far away from the pole. Tips: 2 8 11 1 Suggested Bet: MAJOR POCKET (2) to win. Race 4 CHICAGO BULL (3) is the state’s best pacer and should work past his stablemate to find the front and be too good over the sprint trip. KING OF SWING (6) has been ultra-impressive in winning his last two starts but won’t find the top tonight and will be forced to do it tough. WHOZIDEAWASTHIS (1) is racing well enough to sit on CHICAGO BULL (3) and finish right on his back. THE BUCKET LIST (4) is flying but it’s hard to see the pace being strong enough for him to be a winning chance. Tips: 3 6 1 4 Suggested Bet: WHOZIDEAWASTHIS (1) to place. Race 5 MAJORPRIDE (1) started at big odds when 3rd to HAS NO FEAR (4) in the WA Oaks before facing the breeze when a solid 2nd here last start. She has the pole tonight and will be the one to beat if she holds up at the start. HAS NO FEAR (4) ran on strongly to win the WA Oaks before a solid last start 3rd and should be right in the finish. MANDY JOAN (12) was an impressive last start winner and can overcome her backline draw. LA ROUE DE LAMOUR (2) is never far away and has the barrier to be dangerous. Tips: 1 4 12 2 Suggested Bet: MAJORPRIDE (1) to win. Race 6 MACZAFFAIR (8) was placed in the WA Cup before going for a spell and warmed up for this with a recent Wanneroo trial win. She is drawn wide for her first-up assignment but is the class runner of the field. OUR ALFIE ROMEO (4) was well driven to win the WASBA Breeders Stakes and could enjoy a similar run in transit tonight. EDEN FRANCO (3) is racing below her but is capable of bouncing back. THE WAR NURSE (2) has won five of her last six starts and will give them something to catch if she can find the top. Tips: 8 4 3 2 Suggested Bet: MACZAFFAIR (8) to win. Race 7 MISTER BUSHIDO (1) has hit peak form with consecutive wins at this track. The rise in class is offset by his perfect drawn and he looks the one to beat. CHIAROSCURO (3) was a solid 3rd at his last start and looks a major player from this draw. LADY DE LA RENTA (8) ran on strongly to beat a similar field here last week and can win again if the early tempo is solid. TACT MAJOR (4) will find this easier than his last start 5th behind King Of Swing and must be considered. Tips: 1 3 8 4 Suggested Bet: MISTER BUSHIDO (1) to win. Race 8 ARMA OROURKE (1) has won his past two starts, both from this draw. He goes up in class but looks the leader and should give them something to chase. BLACK JACK ZAC (10) is drawn to get a lovely run in transit and will be dangerous if he has any luck in the final circuit. CARTE BLANCHE (6) is the class runner of the field but will need a touch of luck from the draw. SHE COULD BE GOOD (3) drops in class and could be an improver at odds. Tips: 1 10 6 3 Suggested Bet: BLACK JACK ZAC (10) each way. Race 9 BETTOR NOT BITTER (4) has been performing well in standing start events at Pinjarra, including a strong win at his last start. He should settle in the first half of the field and will give a great sight. CARRERA MACH (1) ran a nice 3rd here last start and would be hard to catch if he bounced to the front. THE TRILOGY (7) won a similar event at his last start and must be considered despite going back to the 20m line. ONE OFF DELIGHT (2) hasn’t been placed for a while but should settle in a good spot and can improve. Tips: 4 1 7 2 Suggested Bet: BETTOR NOT BITTER (4) to win. Race 10 SWEET N FAST (9) hasn’t been at his best lately but ran a nice 2nd to Quick Stride last start. He is drawn wide but will be charging home if there is a reasonable early tempo. MUST BE NICE (7) is in career-best form and went to a new level when a 1.53.2 winner here at his last start and looks right in the mix again. MARQUISARD (2) led throughout here five starts back and will give them something to catch if he can find the top. BREACH THE BEACH (5) is racing consistently and is a genuine winning chance. Tips: 9 7 2 5 Suggested Bet: SWEET N FAST (9) to win. Market Market
