Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 2, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 MIGHTY SANTANA (4) has raced in stands at his four runs since coming from NZ and has only brought up the one victory. He has shown plenty of ability in those runs and looks like he’ll appreciate the mobile conditions tonight. WARFARE (5) won his first two starts in the state before not having much luck last start and looks the obvious danger. MIGHTY FLYING DEAL (11) hasn’t been suited in fast run sprint events at his last two and can improver here at odds. SOHO WONDER (3) is flying and must be considered from this draw. Tips: 4 5 11 3 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY SANTANA (4) to win. Race 2 THE MIDAS TOUCH (5) is in career best form and followed a 1.55.1 win from the breeze with a stunning victory from back in the field here last week. He meets some classy rivals but is in the zone and has race fitness on his side. THREE BEARS (1) won two of his last three starts before a long injury-enforced layoff. He warmed up for this with a recent Bunbury trial win and must be respected from the pole. FIZZING (7) ran 3rd in the Golden Nugget and must be considered at his first run back. ATTACK ON COMMAND (4) can be placed from this draw. Tips: 5 1 7 4 Suggested Bet: THE MIDAS TOUCH (5) to win. Race 3 CAVIAR STAR (2) was nosed out on the line last week when recording 1.53.7 in a sprint event. He is better suited over the middle distance and should prove hard to beat. KING OF SWING (12) looked back to his true form when resuming with a 1.54.7 win here last week and has the class to overcome the backline draw. VINCENZO PERUGGIA (1) doesn’t have the talent of his main rivals but should lead and give them something to catch. THE ART FORM (10) has been disappointing but can be placed at odds from this draw. Tips: 2 12 1 10 Suggested Bet: CAVIAR STAR (2) to win. Race 4 CHICAGO BULL (2) won 13 of his last 15 starts before injury interrupted his Grand Circuit campaign. He resumes here without a trial but will be too good for this field if he is anywhere near his best. HERRICK ROOSEVELT (6) is starting to live up to his potential but will find it hard to beat his stablemate tonight. TACT MAJOR (1) and ALWAYS ARJAY (10) are drawn to get soft runs on the pegs and both look good place chances. Tips: 2 6 1 10 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (2) to win. Race 5 DRACARYS (10) has been victorious in 11 of her 16 career starts and has been impressive in winning her last four on end. She looked to have a mortgage on this event but the barrier draw has made it interesting. BALCATHERINE (6) overcame the widest draw to win a Prelude here last week and looks the obvious danger. TYPHOON TIFF (8) has defeated DRACARYS (8) twice but has a tough draw to overcome tonight. MANDY JOAN (2) was a solid 3rd here last week after facing the breeze and can make her presence felt. Tips: 10 6 8 2 Suggested Bet: DRACARYS (10) to win. Race 6 BETTOR BE LIVELY (2) attempted to lead throughout from the pole when narrowly beaten by Im Soxy in solid time here last week. He looks the likely leader again and should give a great sight. OUR CORELLI (12) didn’t appear to be at his best at his first three starts back from a spell before leading throughout at his last start. The jury is still out but he is too good to overlook. THEREUGO (10) is better known as a frontrunner but could be dangerous from this draw. THE WAR NURSE (5) is flying but goes up a long way in class tonight. Tips: 2 12 10 5 Suggested Bet: BETTOR BE LIVELY (2) to win. Race 7 FANCI A DANCE (7) couldn’t get into the race when 6th to HIGHROLLER JOE (10) at his first run back from a spell but produced a strong effort when 2nd here last week. He should be near his peak and will prove hard to beat. HIGHROLLER JOE (10) won two on end before being hopelessly held up for a run last start and will be charging home tonight. BAYLAN JETT (1) has finished 2nd at his past two starts and should give a sight from the pole. ACE BROMAC (5) is racing consistently and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 7 10 1 5 Suggested Bet: FANCI A DANCE (7) to win. Race 8 OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (7) was a strong 2nd at his first run back from a spell before finishing just behind the placegetters here last week. This looks an easier assignment and he should be suited by the staying distance. HES TALKING (1) wasn’t beaten far by Chiaroscuro at his last start before a break and will give cheek if anywhere near his top. CARRERA MACH (5) was a solid 5th here last week in stronger company and should be thereabouts. HEZGOT FUSION POWER (9) was a first-up winner after a seven-year absence from the track but is drawn poorly. Tips: 7 1 5 9 Suggested Bet: OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (7) to win. Race 9 OUR ANGEL OF HARLEM (10) resumed from a spell with a solid win in mares’ company before running on well to finish 3rd to Herrick Roosevelt here last week. She is back to her own sex and appeals as the one to beat if she handles the stand. ROSIES IDEAL (7) was narrowly beaten by OUR ANGEL OF HARLEM (10) two starts back and looks a major player again. MISS SANGRIAL (9) was an upset winner of the Empress Stakes recently and can figure again. EDEN FRANCO (12) is a classy mare but has to overcome a 50m handicap. Tips: 10 7 9 8 Suggested Bet: OUR ANGEL OF HARLEM (10) to win. Race 10 MATHEW JAMES (6) has impressed in winning his last two starts, including a 1.56.2 victory from the breeze at Pinjarra. He is drawn inside his main rivals tonight and looks a great chance to bring up the hat-trick. SANGUE REALE (9) is racing extremely well and is capable of overcoming the wide draw. VALBONNE (8) has shown ability and looks the other winning chance. THE LIGHTNING STRIKE (7) has been racing fairly in weaker company and can be placed with the right trip. Tips: 6 9 8 7 Suggested Bet: MATHEW JAMES (6) to win. Market Market
