Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on March 7, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: BRONZE SEEKER (1) led throughout from this draw against a similar field in January and his form since has been solid. He should be able to hold up tonight and looks the one to beat. KIMANI (10) lost form before a short break but would be right in the finish if anywhere near his best. A BOY NAMED ROSIE (11) couldn’t make up ground here last week but should settle closer and can figure. YOU GOTTA HAVE FAITH (2) is racing consistently and shouldn’t be far away from this draw. Tips: 1 10 11 2 Suggested Bet: BRONZE SEEKER (1) to win. Race 2: CAVIAR STAR (1) has won four of his seven starts this time and finished 2nd in the other three. He steps up in class for this assignment and his gate speed is questionable but he is the one to beat from the pole. HERRICK ROOSEVELT (4) has finished 3rd at his last two starts and should be close to his peak now. THE ART FORM (2) led throughout in 1.54.6 here last week and will give some cheek if he can find the front. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (5) ran 2nd to Rocknroll Lincoln in slick time in a stronger field at his last start and must be respected. Tips: 1 4 2 5 Suggested Bet: CAVIAR STAR (1) to win. Race 3: ARGYLE RED (3) has a losing sequence of 16 but has ran two nice placings in stands at his most recent runs and looks a great chance here. He is likely to find the top and should give them something to catch. VINCENZO PERUGGIA (5) is racing extremely well and will go forward at the start and be right in the finish again. LORD WILLOUGHBY (7) will settle near the rear but is suited by the small field and likely solid tempo. MATTJESTIC STAR (1) was a huge 2nd here last week but may not be able to take advantage of the pole draw. Tips: 3 5 7 1 Suggested: ARGYLE RED (3) to win. Race 4: OUR JIMMY JOHNSTONE (1) is a 10YO who is yet to win in nine starts this time in but gets his chance tonight. He should be able to hold the lead and has always been a bold frontrunner. VULTAN TIN (5) is ultra-consistent and can push forward here and be right in the finish. SIMBA BROMAC (4) was a solid 3rd in the Pinjarra Cup on Monday and can win with the right run. WHOZIDEAWASTHIS (3) is first-up tonight but showed enough last time in to suggest he can figure if near his top. Tips: 1 5 4 3 Suggested Bet: OUR JIMMY JOHNSTONE (1) to win. Race 5: DOUBLE EXPRESSO (4) has been ultra-impressive in winning her two starts, including a 1.55.7 win in her heat. She looks to have scope for further improvement and is clearly the one to beat. MOON GODDESS (3) showed plenty of speed to lead throughout in the other heat and is the obvious danger. BRAVE LADY (10) ran 2nd to DOUBLE EXPRESSO (4) in her heat and looks a great place chance. MISSBILLYNOTSILLY (1) doesn’t appear to have the class of her main rivals but can be placed from the pole. Tips: 4 3 10 1 Suggested Bet: Quinella: MOON GODDESS (3) & DOUBLE EXPRESSO (4) Race 6: MANNING (4) made an impressive debut when sprinting over the top of TEAM MASCOT (2) in a quick last quarter. He is drawn better than his main rivals and looks the one to beat. MAJOR MARTINI (6) showed speed to lead throughout from this draw in his heat and looks the obvious danger to his stablemate. TEAM MASCOT (10) led when a gallant 2nd in his heat and looks capable of unwinding a big finish off a soft trip. MATAI REACTOR (3) ran on to finish a distant 3rd in his heat and is drawn nicely. Tips: 4 6 10 3 Suggested Bet: MANNING (4) to win. Race 7: SARAH GOODY (1) only had the one start last time in and resumes here without a trial. That is definitely a concern but she would be extremely hard to beat if she is anywhere near her best. NEIGHLOR (4) has been very competitive in stronger fields and looks a major player here. LUIS ALBERTO (8) has unbelievably won three on end and could surprise again. CRACKA STAR (10) is drawn to get a nice run and can be in the money. Tips: 1 4 8 10 Suggested Bet: SARAH GOODY (1) to win. Race 8: VEILED SECRET (5) has faced the breeze and finished just behind the placegetters at her past two starts. She is drawn inside her main rivals and will run a big race. LIBERTY ROSE (10) looked the winner before being gunned down late last week and will be charging home if she has any luck from this draw. SHE COULD BE GOOD (6) has ran two nice placings behind Our Alfie Romeo at her past two starts and can make her presence felt. CUT ABOVE (4) has been flying on country tracks and is ready for the rise in class. Tips: 5 10 6 4 Suggested Bet: VEILED SECRET (5) to win. Race 9: MISTER SPOT (11) has been placed at her past five starts, including a strong finishing 3rd in a quick last half at Bunbury. He is drawn to settle in a nice position and should give a great sight. CHARLIE EL (4) finished like Quinny to record an upset victory here last week and a repeat performance will see him hard to hold out. KERRIN JOSEPH (6) hasn’t been at his top but produced a nice last-start 2nd and could be on the improve. BROOKIES JET (1) is always dangerous when he draws well. Tips: 3 1 2 5 Suggested Bet: MISTER SPOT (11) each way. Race 10: COURAGE TO LIVE (10) was ultra-impressive at his first run back from a spell when a 20m winner over Lightning Jolt. He is awkwardly drawn but is clearly the one to beat. DOMINATE THE DOJO (1) has been racing well and will give a sight but doesn’t appear to be finding the line. MISTERSANDMAN (5) has been placed at six of his past seven starts and shouldn’t be far away again. JUST BET ON BLACK (6) chased hard when 2nd to James Butt in slick time and can make his presence felt with luck in running. Tips: 10 1 5 6 Suggested Bet: COURAGE TO LIVE (10) to win. Market Market
