Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 28, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: SWEET N FAST (5) was impressive in winning three on end before working hard when 4th to Soho Chelsea here last week. There looks to be plenty of pressure in this race and he can sit just off the pace and produce his big finish. THE TRILOGY (2) led throughout to defeat Caviar Star last start and should give a great sight again. VINCENZO PERUGGIA (8) ran a huge 2nd last week before recording a comfortable win on Tuesday and can overcome the draw. HASANI (4) is racing well and looks the other winning chance. Tips: 5 2 8 4 Suggested Bet: SWEET N FAST (5) to win. Race 2: COURAGE TELLS (4) has been racing consistently without winning but gets his chance tonight. He finished a close up 4th to Clarenden Hustler here last week and has the gate speed to race in a prominent position. A BOY NAMES ROSIE (6) ran on strongly to finish 2nd at his first run back from a break and will be charging home again. TOUCH OF SUCCESS (10) has finished just behind the placegetters at his last two starts in stronger fields so must be considered. BRONZE SEEKER (8) needs the pace on but will be running on strongly. Tips: 4 6 10 8 Suggested Bet: COURAGE TELLS (4) to win. Race 3: DESTINED TO RULE (1) was placed in consecutive races before finishing 4th to Caviar Star here in a stand at his last run. He has options from the pole and should be in the finish. WAIMAC ATTACK (2) has finished just behind the placegetters at all five starts this campaign but is drawn to be a major player tonight. ALL JOKES ASIDE (3) has performed solidly after facing the breeze at his last two starts and should be thereabouts. ROCKNROLL BABY (4) continues to improve in pacing events after racing as a trotter. Tips: 1 2 3 4 Suggested Bet: DESTINED TO RULE (1) each way. Race 4: THE ART FORM (2) lost form at the end of his last campaign and has had two months since his last run. He should lead tonight and prove hard to catch over the sprint trip if he is back to his best. HERRICK ROOSEVELT (5) worked extremely hard when a brave 3rd here last week and looks the obvious danger. DEBT FREE CHARLIE (4) has been placed at his last four starts and should be thereabouts again. JAXON FELLA (1) is drawn to get the run of the race and can be placed. Tips: 2 5 4 1 Suggested Bet: THE ART FORM (2) to win. Race 5: VEILED SECRET (2) has faced the breeze at her past two starts, including a brave 2.6m 4th here last week. She is better drawn tonight and should give a great sight. LIBERTY ROSE (10) was placed at her first six starts this time in before a close-up 7th here last week. She is drawn to get a lovely run in transit and will be dangerous late. THE ARSONIST (1) is better known as a sit-sprint type but is likely to hold the front tonight and should give a sight. BREACH THE BEACH (3) is drawn well and is the best of the rest. Tips: 2 10 1 3 Suggested Bet: LIBERTY ROSE (10) each way. Race 6: ILLUSIONATION (1) has been unplaced at his past 17 starts but ran a nice 4th to Catastrophic Event on Monday after facing the breeze. He is drawn to lead if desired and should give a sight. BLACK JACK ZAC (10) ran on to finish a solid 3rd at Collie at his last start and is drawn to get a soft run in transit. TALKERUP (7) found the front and ran a great 2nd here on Tuesday in quick time and must be considered. BOB WHEEL (4) was a dominant all-the-way winner in easier company last start and can handle the rise in class. Tips: 1 10 7 4 Suggested Bet: BLACK JACK ZAC (10) each way. Race 7: ROCKABALL (7) was a good all-the-way winner in slick time before being held up at a crucial stage when 4th to Luis Alberto here last week. He still hit the line nicely and can bounce back tonight. DOMINATE THE DOJO (10) was a close 2nd in the same race and is drawn to get a soft run in transit. GANGBUSTER (1) led throughout three starts back and is likely to try to repeat that performance from the pole. MISTERSANDMAN (12) has been placed at his last six starts and can be in the money again. Tips: 7 10 1 12 Suggested Bet: ROCKABALL (7) to win. Race 8: OUR ALFIE ROMEO (1) won two on end in easier company at Pinjarra before overcoming a backline draw to record an impressive win here last week. She is drawn perfectly tonight and looks the one to beat. JUST ROCKON BYE (4) was a 1.54.4 winner at Melton at her last start and must be respected at her first start for the Hall camp. MARY CATHERINE (7) has been performing well in stronger fields but has a wide draw to overcome. SHE COULD BE GOOD (6) was a good 2nd to OUR ALFIE ROMEO (1) last week and can be placed again. Tips: 1 4 7 6 Suggested Bet: OUR ALFIE ROMEO (1) to win. Race 9: CAVIAR STAR (3) settled near the rear but sustained a long run to defeat ATMOSPHERICAL (1) here a fortnight ago. He should settle closer tonight and is clearly the one to beat. ATMOSPHERICAL (1) is racing extremely consistently and should lead and give a great sight. TACTILE SENSATION (2) has brought up consecutive victories on outer country tracks and is drawn to be in the money. BETTOR BE LIVELY (5) has been racing well in mobiles and can be thereabouts is he steps cleanly. Tips: 3 1 2 5 Suggested Bet: CAVIAR STAR (3) to win. Race 10: FRANCO EDWARD (2) has won eight of his 13 career starts but has been found wanting at his past two. He couldn’t handle the early pressure and the longer trip when 2nd to Sweet N Fast before a fair 7th here after facing the breeze. He is clearly the one to beat but has lost his air of superiority. ELOQUENT MACH (1) has won three of his past six starts and did beat home FRANCO EDWARD (2) last start so must be considered from the pole. VALBONNE (5) and ROBBIE EASTON (6) are racing well but are drawn wide in the small field. Tips: 2 1 5 6 Suggested Bet: FRANCO EDWARD (2) to win. Market Market
