Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 10, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 BENHOPE RULZ (6) was an impressive all-the-way winner here two starts back and then couldn’t get in to the race last week. This looks an easier assignment and he should give a great sight. BRONZE SEEKER (1) appreciated the drop in class when winning at Pinjarra on Monday and must be considered from the pole. KIMANI (8) was caught in the breeze but battled on strongly last week and will find this easier. BACK TO THE BEACH (12) has been racing consistently but has to overcome a backline draw. Tips: 6 1 8 12 Suggested Bet: BENHOPE RULZ (6) to win. Race 2 GOLDEN STATE (9) wasn’t far away in the Golden Nugget and has won his two subsequent starts in easier company. This is a rise in class and he has drawn poorly but will still run a big race. IM SOXY (10) has endured tough runs at his past two starts and will be a major player with any luck from this draw. MICHAEL JOSEPH (6) is racing consistently and looks a winning chance. NEIGHLOR (1) has drawn perfectly and must be considered on his win two starts back. Tips: 9 10 6 1 Suggested Bet: GOLDEN STATE (9) to win. Race 3 LIBERTY ROSE (2) resumed from a spell with a fast finishing 2nd to Maczaffair. She will be fitter for that effort and looks the one to beat from the draw. LADY DE LA RENTA (6) was only 2.4m from the winner in the same race and is the obvious danger. MARY CATHERINE (3) also wasn’t far away in that event and could represent the value. VEILED SECRET (11) raced very consistently last time in and is up to this if anywhere near her top first-up. Tips: 2 6 3 11 Suggested Bet: MARY CATHERINE (3) each way. Race 4 SIMBA BROMAC (5) has won 14 of his last 19 starts and looks ready to tackle this class. He was a comfortable winner over Mitch Maguire at his last start before a break and should give a great sight if he is anywhere near peak fitness. ARGYLE RED (1) doesn’t have the class of some of his rivals but will be in this for a long way from the pole. WAYLADE (2) was an eye-catching 2nd to El Jacko last start and is well drawn tonight. THE BUCKET LIST (4) needs everything to go right nowadays to win but is capable with the right run. Tips: 5 1 2 4 Suggested Bet: SIMBA BROMAC (5) to win. Race 5 MY FIELD MARSHALL (2) is Australasia’s fastest pacer and made a statement at his WA debut with an emphatic all-the-way win here a fortnight ago. He is beautifully drawn and is clearly the one to beat. GALACTIC STAR (10) raced extremely well during the Inters series and is the obvious danger if he has any luck from this draw. SAYING GRACE (1) galloped out from this barrier at his last start but he will try to contest the early lead and will run a big race from the pole. EL JACKO (11) is racing well and is always dangerous with the right run. Tips: 2 10 1 11 Suggested Bet: GALACTIC STAR (10) each way. Race 6 BETTOR B ABELIEVER (1) is a strong frontrunner who led throughout in solid time here on New Years Eve. He is drawn perfectly and is clearly the one to beat. LORD WILLOUGHBY (10) was a good winner here two starts back and draws to get a lovely run and looks the main danger. OHOKA DARCY (6) is the other class runner of the field and looks the only other winning chance. RESPONDER (2) is a consistent placegetter and is drawn to be handy in the run. Tips: 1 10 6 2 Suggested Bet: Quinella BETTOR B ABELIEVER (1) & LORD WILLOUGHBY (10). Race 7 BETTOR VISION (4) was a strong 2nd to Benhope Rulz then led and was beaten as a $1.36 favourite here last week. They did rate 1.54.8 on that occasion and that form is good enough to win this event. ROMAN AVIATOR (11) had been racing well without luck before breaking through for a comfortable win here last week and looks the main danger. YOU GOTTA HAVE FAITH (3) won at Pinjarra two starts back and can play a part from here. DAMONDO (1) could be a big improver after finishing near the rear at his first three starts back from a long spell. Tips: 4 11 3 1 Suggested Bet: Quinella BETTOR VISION (4) & ROMAN AVIATOR (11). Race 8 THE ARSONIST (2) won here five starts back and has battled barriers at his subsequent runs. He was a nice 3rd to Golden State here last week and gets his chance from this draw. WHOSWHOINTHEZOO (5) won here three starts back and finished only 2m behind THE ARSONIST (2) last start so must be respected. ANIME (3) has finished 2nd here for the last two weeks and should be thereabouts again. MACHRIE (4) needs the right run in transit but could be dangerous from this draw. Tips: 2 5 3 4 Suggested Bet: THE ARSONIST (2) to win. Race 9 DOMINATE THE DOJO (2) faced the breeze when a solid 2nd here last week and is the one to beat if he can get around the polemarker at the start. LUIS ALBERTO (11) is racing consistently without winning but would be suited if there was an early burn. KAPTAIN KENNY (1) was a solid last start winner and has options at the start. SEA ME SMILE (10) should either be trailing the leader or three back on the pegs and will be a great place chance from either position. Tips: 2 11 1 10 Suggested Bet: DOMINATE THE DOJO (2) to win. Race 10 DRACARYS (7) won five on end before taking on the boys and finishing midfield in the Golden Slipper. She resumes here without a trial and is drawn poorly but must be respected on her 2YO form. SOHO INTERCEPTOR (1) was disappointing first-up but she looks the leader and would win this at her best. MILLWOOD GUCCI (6) finally broke her maiden status when a dominant Bunbury winner and can go on with it now. HAS NO FEAR (4) has been placed at both of her starts this campaign and won’t be far away. Tips: 7 1 6 4 Suggested Bet: DRACARYS (7) to win. Market Market
