Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on October 23, 2025October 23, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (1) has been battling bad barriers in strong fields and she is clearly the one to beat here. The only question is whether she can hold out the flying HEAVENLY GIPSY (4) at the start but she has led from the pole in her last four starts from that barrier and she should do enough. HEAVENLY GIPSY (4) is the obvious danger but will have to cross to cause a minor upset. RAKLOU (9) is a promising mare who will race her way through the classes but this is a big test for her from out here. PRINCESS KATIE (2) looks a great place if she can hold the back of the polemarker. Tips: 1 4 9 2 Suggested Bet: AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (1) to win. Race 2 CHARIVARI (1) was an impressive winner at his second start back from a spell and he looks the leader and the one to beat from the pole. RUNKLE CRUNCH (10) was held up at a crucial stage and hit the line nicely when 4th in a stronger field here last week and should fight out the finish with normal racing luck. RUMBLE STRIP (4) couldn’t get into the race at his last start but he recorded a hat-trick of victories prior to that and must be respected. CAPTAINSHAVTIME (7) had a setback and lost form but her win in 1.55.7 here last week indicated that she was back to her best and she can beat the boys with the right trip. Tips: 1 10 4 7 Suggested Bet: CHARIVARI (1) to win. Race 3 HILLVIEW BONDI (12) is a tough customer who will be suited by the likelihood of a quick lead time and he will give a great sight on an each-way basis if he can move to the breeze in the middle stages. LONGREACH BAY (8) has been racing against the likes of Minstrel and Captain Ravishing and he will give a great sight if he can cross at the start. SWEET PINS (4) is the up and comer and looks to have a good future but has come up pretty short in the market. SWEET LUCIFER (6) has improved in each start this time in and is ready for the rise in class after two impressive victories. Tips: 12 8 4 6 Suggested Bet: HILLVIEW BONDI (12) each way. Race 4 MISTER SMARTEE (9) has come back in good order without showing his absolute best form. He is the class runner of this field and is clearly the one to beat but the draw won’t make it easy. PENNY BLACK (8) is flying and will be hard to catch if she can maintain her barrier advantage in the early stages and work her way to the front. CAPTAIN RAVISHING (12) upset MISTER SMARTEE (9) two starts back when he had all the favours and that scenario is possible again here. ARMA XFACTOR (7) could end up receiving a nice trip and can be placed at odds. Tips: 9 8 12 7 Suggested Bet: MISTER SMARTEE (9) to win. Race 5 BETTORS PRIDE (2) was fancied last week but he led and was taken on throughout when 6th to Tualou. If IM LIGHTNING BANNER (1) is happy to sit again then he should enjoy an easier time out in front and will be hard to beat. JUSTCALLMEMIKI (12) and GOLDEN LODE (10) will be hoping the polemarker wants to lead tonight and they will be major winning chances if that does occur. IM LIGHTNING BANNER (1) was a nice 2nd here last week and has options at the start. Tips: 2 12 1 10 Suggested Bet: BETTORS PRIDE (2) to win. Race 6 FRISKY STYX (9) hasn’t been at his best in his last two campaigns and hasn’t been placed for a while but his recent Pinjarra trial was exciting. I was hoping for lot bigger odds from the wide draw over the sprint trip so hopefully he drifts in the market. ME FLASH (3) will be prominent throughout and will be very hard to catch if he can find the front. THE WAND WAVER (6) has been placed in her last two starts and should make her presence felt again. MADDY ROCKS (2) was rewarded for her consistency when winning here last week and looks a major player again. Tips: 9 3 6 2 Suggested Bet: FRISKY STYX (9) to win. Race 7 RELATIVELY ARMA (10) will need luck from this barrier but she is racing well and will be charging home if she sees daylight at the right time. GOODTIME LOUIS (9) has won his last two starts and has the gate speed to negate the wide draw. STORMYSKYES (8) has the strength to be put into the race and fight out the finish in this company at good each way odds. HER PRESENCE (4) performed well last week after not finding the front and looms as a major player. STAR LILLY (2) has been placed in seven of her past eight starts and should be thereabouts again. Tips: 10 9 8 4 Suggested Bet: RELATIVELY ARMA (10) to win. Race 8 LINCOLN LOU (8) crossed from a similar draw before taking a sit in stronger company here last week. He will hold the front here if he can get across at the start and he looks hard to beat against this line-up. BETTOR ARCADE (10) has ability and can be dangerous with some luck from his awkward barrier. His connections wouldn’t be OVERLY EXCITED (9) by a run of bad draws but he does have ability and can figure. BEAT THE BANK (6) finished just behind the placegetters in a lot better field here last week and can be entertained at good each way odds. Tips: 8 10 9 6 Suggested Bet: LINCOLN LOU (8) to win. Race 9 FLEUR DE MAQUIS (1) showed gate speed but couldn’t cross here on Tuesday when. A gallant 2nd. She looks the likely leader tonight and will be hard to beat if she hasn’t been knocked around by that tough run. DARK EYES (8) and QUINTON (9) are the class runners of this field and whoever gets the best run in transit of that pair are likely to figure in the finish. MAXIMUM ROCK (3) led and was comfortably beaten by QUINTON (9) two starts back but may improve with a softer run. Tips: 1 8 9 3 Suggested Bet: FLEUR DE MAQUIS (1) to win. Race 10 AMALFI KNIGHT (5) did things wrong on debut and had a break before resuming with a dominant victory at this track. He has plenty of ability but still has a lot to learn so you have to be wary about taking a short quote but he is the one to beat. IN RARE AIR (7) has recorded two wins and two 2nds from his four race starts and is the obvious danger. THE FINAL OFFER (1) and LAST KING OF CAPEL (2) have proven to be slightly inferior to the two favourites but the sprint distance and barrier draws bring them into contention. Tips: 5 7 1 2 Suggested Bet: AMALFI KNIGHT (5) to win. Market Market
