Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 27, 2018 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: BENHOPE RULZ (2) has been racing in stronger company and followed a game 2nd to Jack Mac with a 7th in the Golden Nugget after starting from a tough draw. He has a lovely gate tonight and looks the one to beat. BETTOR VISION (10) bolted in here against a weaker field last week and will make his presence felt if he has any luck from this draw. BRIGHT DIAMOND (4) crossed from a wide gate and was only run down late last week and must be a chance. SCOTLYNN BEACH (1) rarely wins but looks a great place hope from the pole. Tips: 2 10 4 1 Suggested Bet: BENHOPE RULZ (2) win. Race 2: THE ART FORM (3) ran three consecutive 2nds before he couldn’t get into the race when 7th to Saying Grace here last week. He is better drawn tonight and should press for an all-the-way victory. WALKINSHAW (5) was a solid 3rd in the same race and should be right in the finish again. FIZZING (4) was a great 3rd in the Golden Nugget and didn’t have much luck when a solid 4th here last week and is capable of winning. LORD WILLOUGHBY (2) had every chance when 2nd here last week at his first run back from a spell and will be fitter. Tips: 3 5 4 2 Suggested Bet: THE ART FORM (3) to win. Race 3: SAYING GRACE (1) has won five of his last six starts including a comfortable all-the-way win here last week. This a rise in class but he looks very smart and should notch up another victory. EL JACKO (5) is a somewhat enigmatic pacer with plenty of ability who led and disappointed last start but wouldn’t surprise by winning here. ITZ BETTOR TO WIN (2) should drop straight to the pegs and looks a good place chance. MACZAFFAIR (6) is proven in this company but the draw makes it tough. Tips: 1 5 2 6 Suggested Bet: SAYING GRACE (1) to win. Race 4: OUR ANGEL OF HARLEM (3) had no luck in the Mares’ Classic before leading throughout to record a dominant victory last start. This field contains more quality but she should be winning. INFINITE SYMBOL (4) was a solid 3rd here last week and she should settle in a prominent position. OUR MAJOR MAMA (11) is a WA Oaks winner and wasn’t suited facing the breeze when 6th to OUR ANGEL OF HARLEM (3) but should enjoy a softer trip tonight. INNOCENT AFFAIR (2) looks a place chance of she can cross the polemarker early. Tips: 3 4 11 2 Suggested Bet: OUR ANGEL OF HARLEM (3) to win. Race 5: MY FIELD MARSHALL (5) is the reigning Miracle Mile winner when he went 1.46.9 in defeating Jilliby Kung Fu and Soho Tribeca. He went 1.50.9 when winning at his last start and looks the class runner of this field if he handles the smaller track. RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN (3) will give some cheek if he can find the front based on his dead-heat win two starts back. MITCH MAGUIRE (10) has an explosive turn of foot but will need luck from this draw. OUR MAX PHACTOR (6) has won 12 of his last 13 but this is tougher. Tips: 5 3 10 6 Suggested Bet: MY FIELD MARSHALL (5) to win. Race 6: CARTER MICHEAL (5) has been placed at five of his past seven starts and is due to break through soon. He ran on well to finish 2nd to As Happy As Larry in a slick 1.54.3 here last week and can go one better tonight. BETTOR NOT BITTER (12) was a solid 2nd to Machiatto here last week and can be put into the race if the tempo suits. TOUCH OF SUCCESS (11) isn’t suited by a backline draw but has plenty of ability when right. QTOWN RIP ROARING (1) is drawn to get a lovely run and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 5 12 11 1 Suggested Bet: CARTER MICHEAL (5) to win. Race 7: GOLDEN STATE (10) had a nice run on the pegs and wasn’t far away when 6th in the Golden Nugget. This is a big drop in class if he gets any luck from his awkward draw. SERGEANT OATS (2) ran on well when 2nd across the line but was promoted to first after a protest at his last start and he has a significant barrier advantage over his main rival. LOT TWENTY ONE (4) ran on well to finish 2nd here last week and can figure again. SOHO SILVERSTONE (6) was a first-up winner after a three-year absence but this is harder. Tips: 10 2 4 6 Suggested Bet: GOLDEN STATE (10) to win. Race 8: STEFSBEST (1) led throughout for two comfortable victories in November but has battled bad draws at his three subsequent starts. He is drawn to lead tonight and is clearly the one to beat. DOMINATE THE DOJO (2) has performed soundly at his two runs back from a spell and looks the main danger. SEA ME SMILE (10) is drawn to get a lovely run on the pegs and looks a great place chance. LUIS ALBERTO (8) is racing well without winning but is drawn wide here. Tips: 1 2 10 8 Suggested Bet: STEFSBEST (1) to win. Race 9: LADY DE LA RENTA (1) has won two of her last four starts, including an impressive win over Shes Artful when she settled at the rear. She is likely to hold up tonight and will be the one to beat in that role. DONTSTOPBELIEVIN (3) has been unplaced at her past five starts but her last effort had plenty of merit in a strong field and she can play a part. SHES TURBO CHARGED (2) is drawn to get a lovely run in transit and looks a good place chance. IM STYLISH (8) disappointed last start and is drawn wide but does drop in class. Tips: 1 3 2 8 Suggested Bet: LADY DE LA RENTA (1) to win. Race 10: FRANCO EDWARD (6) has won six of his eight career starts, including the Golden Slipper, and has resumed with two soft wins in easier company. This is harder but he is suited by the small field and is the one to beat. SHOCKWAVE (3) has two wins and two placings behind PATRICKTHEPIRANHA (4) this time in and may get the right run to cause an upset. PATRICKTHEPIRANHA (4) has impressed in winning all four starts this campaign and is right in this again. ITS ROCK AND ROLL (1) looks the leader tonight and will give a sight. Tips: 6 3 4 1 Suggested Bet: SHOCKWAVE (3) each way. Market Market
