Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 5, 2025June 5, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 MANHATTAN MOON (1) has finished towards the rear in his last five starts but he gets the opportunity to try to shoot for an all-the-way win from the pole and he should be a big improver. CODENAME MARCUS (12) was only 4.2 metres from the winner in a stronger race here last week and he can overcome the backline draw. SWAGGER MAN (6) is racing well enough to figure in the finish if there is a solid tempo. POCKET THE CHANGE (10) should trail the polemarker throughout and won’t be far away. Tips: 1 12 6 10 Suggested Bet: MANHATTAN MOON (1) to win. Race 2 RELATIVELY ARMA (6) led when 4th in a significantly stronger field here last week and should give a great sight tonight on an each-way basis. CANDY APPLE (1) chased hard when 3rd to XCITE ME (4) last week and gets his chance to turn the tables from the better draw. XCITE ME (4) is shooting for the hat-trick after leading throughout to win his first two starts in the state and will be hard to catch if he finds the front. SHES A TINY DANCER (10) didn’t have much luck at her last start but should enjoy a nice run on the pegs and can be dangerous late. Tips: 6 1 4 10 Suggested Bet: RELATIVELY ARMA (6) each way. Race 3 HEAVENLY GIPSY (1) was well-fancied at her WA debut and performed accordingly when an all-the-way 1.55.9 winner from this draw. She goes up in class tonight but her times indicate she will be very hard to beat. SUGAR APPLE (10) has led throughout to beat good fields at his last two starts and looks a good each way chance from his nice trailing draw. MENEMSHA (9) has very good form and was good winner from a similar draw at his last start but will need a solid tempo to bring him into winning calculations. VEGAS STRIP (11) had his chance last week but is likely to get a soft run behind the speed and can be in the money. Tips: 1 10 9 11 Suggested Bet: HEAVENLY GIPSY (1) to win. Race 4 CAMS BOULDER (3) chased hard when a 2,7m 2nd to BLAMEITONTHENIGHT (6) here last week and will be hard to beat if he can work his way to the front tonight. BET ON THE RIVER (1) has been racing very well with a sit recently and looks a great each way chance from the pole. MY SILVER SPOON (12) is shooting for his fifth straight victory and must be respected but will find this harder than his recent assignments. BLAMEITONTHENIGHT (6) is back in form but his best performances are when he races on the pegs and he is unlikely to find the front tonight. Tips: 3 1 12 6 Suggested Bet: CAMS BOULDER (3) to win. Race 5 AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (1) was a good winner from a wide draw at her last start and she looks the leader and one to beat from the pole tonight. ALL IS WELL (11) ran a nice 4th at his first run back from a spell and maps to enjoy a nice run just behind the speed and can cause a boilover at good each way odds. PENNY BLACK (2) is as tough as they come and is likely to pressure the favourite and fight out the finish. TALKS UP A STORM (10) doesn’t love the staying trips but will enjoy a soft run on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 1 11 2 10 Suggested Bet: AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (1) to win. Race 6 MALAKIE (6) has resumed with a win and two placings and this looks a very suitable assignment. EN PARIANT SUR (12) has started his WA career with consistent efforts and has shown that he can work in his races. SWEET DUNCAN (9) must be respected after winning three on end but goes up in class and is drawn poorly. GALVINSTON JOHN (2) isn’t overly brave but he will give them something to catch if he gets an easy lead. Tips: 6 12 9 2 Suggested Bet: MALAKIE (6) to win. Race 7 RUBY LOU (9) was a game 3rd in a stronger field at her last start and has the versatility to overcome the wide draw. HIGHVIEW HEIDI (8) is a talented filly returning from a spell but hasn’t trialled so monitor the betting. AUTUMN LADY (10) was an impressive winner at only her second race start and looks set for as bright future. SPIRITED WHITBY (7) has used her good gate speed to cross to the front in her last four starts for two wins and two placings and should give a great sight again. Tips: 9 8 10 7 Suggested Bet: RUBY LOU (9) to win. Race 8 NO NONEY (7) raced in stronger company last time in and was placed in all six starts without winning. He hasn’t been produced in trials but will be hard to beat if he is anywhere near his best. FLYING FELIX (3) is a promising type who was rewarded for his consistency with a last start win and looks capable of handling the rise in class. DRIVE LINE (4) has finished runner-up at both starts this time in and should be thereabouts again. YOUR GRACE (6) has finished just behind DRIVE LINE (4) in those two starts and is likely to start at a lot bigger price than that rival. Tips: 7 3 4 6 Suggested Bet: NO NONEY (7) to win. Race 9 A small field but you can make a case for all seven runners. GOLDEN LODE (3) couldn’t make up the ground out wide in a quick last half at his last start but should settle closer to the lead and prove hard to beat. BRICKIES DREAM (2) led throughout to win Christmas Gift in 1.55.2 over this distance and will be hard to beat if he can reproduce anything like that first-up. STAR CASINO (5) is flying and is the one horse on the race capable of working hard in the run and still being a winning chance. CROWD CONTROL (1) disappointed in his two efforts last time in but would be a major player on his previous form so monitor the betting. Tips: 3 2 5 1 Suggested Bet: GOLDEN LODE (3) to win. Race 10 QUINTON (8) has won his last two starts against stronger fields than he meets tonight but he is drawn poorly and may start under the odds. THE LITTLEMASTER (7) lost form for a bit but his last few efforts have been full of merit and he will be charging home tonight. FLEUR DE MAQUIS (3) has been unplaced in her six starts this time in but is gradually improving and would give some cheek if she found the front. HEAVENLY WAGE (6) ran a nice 3rd in slick time in stronger company but he is a lot more effective when he races on the pegs. Tips: 8 7 3 6 Suggested Bet: THE LITTLEMASTER (7) each way. Market Market
