Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 8, 2025May 8, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 EN PARIANT SUR (6) raced consistently in NSW and is a last start winner resuming tonight. He meets a weak field and won’t have to be very good to be the one to beat. JUSTLIKE TURBO (12) resumed with a solid 4th to STRIKE MASTER (8) and will be fitter for that effort. STRIKE MASTER (8) had a losing sequence of 29 before breaking back into the winners’ circle and could go on with it now. SONIC SEELSTER (4) isn’t overly brave but he has good gate speed and should be prominent throughout. Tips: 6 12 8 4 Suggested Bet: EN PARIANT SUR (6) to win. Race 2 MINOR CATASTROPHE (1) had no luck here last week but gave a great sight when 3rd to Star Casino at her previous start and she will be hard to catch tonight if she can hold up at the start. BARBADOS (8) has a losing sequence of 35 but he has been placed in four of his last six starts and can be in the finish again. BET ON THE RIVER (10) is drawn to enjoy a soft run on the pegs and will be dangerous if he gets out at the right time. JOEY JAMES (4) has been unplaced in his last 15 starts but his latest effort had merit and his best would win a race of this nature. Tips: 1 8 10 3 Suggested Bet: MINOR CATASTROPHE (1) to win. Race 3 AMBITSAYA (4) resumed with an impressive Pinjarra victory in solid time and is clearly the one to beat but does rise in class here. BLAMEITONTHENIGHT (10) has disappointed at his last two starts but clearly has ability and can improve sharply with a softer run tonight. FEELING ACES (1) is drawn to be prominent throughout and looks a good place chance. HES NEVA BEEN BETA (7) has been racing in stronger company and is capable of overcoming the wide draw. Tips: 4 10 1 7 Suggested Bet: AMBITSAYA (4) to win. Race 4 LITTLE DARLING (11) was rightfully considered a rung or two below our best mares but her past four efforts have been first class and she looks a great each way chance again from her nice trailing barrier. AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (5) is the proven class performer of the field and was a brave 2nd in the Empress Stakes. She has another awkward draw to overcome but should fight out the finish. WONDERFUL TO FLY (1) would have finished just behind the placegetters in the Fremantle Cup if she saw daylight and holds the key to the race from the pole. PENNY BLACK (2) looked a tired horse in the Empress but has been freshened up and her previous form would have seen her favourite in this race. MADAM PUBLISHER (3) and NULLABOR NAVAJO (4) can both win with the right run. Tips: 11 5 1 2 Suggested Bet: LITTLE DARLING (11) each way. Race 5 ALTA TRIBUTE (1) has resumed with two impressive victories in weaker fields. The significant rise in class is offset by the pole draw and he will give a great sight if he can hold up at the start. LUSAKA (10) hasn’t won a race for nearly 11 months but he has been placed in six of his last seven starts and he should get a nice run on the pegs. SPYGLASS (6) has been performing well and could be the one that gets out to a silly price here. GOLDEN LODE (7) will strip fitter for his first-up 3rd and will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. Tips: 1 10 6 7 Suggested Bet: ALTA TRIBUTE (1) to win. Race 6 VEGAS STRIP (2) disappointed at his only start last time in and resumes without a trial so must be taken on trust but he looks the likely leader and will give a great sight if close to his best. HOPPYS WAY (6) comes out of the Nullabor and Fremantle Cup and looks a major player. MIGHTY CONQUEROR (7) has disappointed at his last two starts but can take up the breeze position here and can fight out the finish. JAWSOFLINCOLN (8) is the other class runner of the field but his last two efforts have been well below his best. Tips: 2 6 7 8 Suggested Bet: VEGAS STRIP (2) to win. Race 7 MY WATCHLIST (9) was well beaten by Belly Up first-up before recording a comfortable win here. He goes up in class and draws poorly but still appeals as the one to beat. STAR CASINO (6) overcame a 50m handicap to record a strong Pinjarra stand victory and will make his presence felt. LORD TITANIUM (7) wasn’t suited in the breeze at his last start but must be considered on his previous solid form. THELITTLE MASTER (4) hasn’t been at his best at his last two starts but has had 14 days between runs and can improve. Tips: 9 6 7 4 Suggested Bet: MY WATCHLIST (9) to win. Race 8 SCOOTER B (9) has chased home the exciting Cyclone Jordy at his two starts this time in and obviously has plenty of ability but it won’t be easy from out here and he looks under the odds in early markets. DAWSON (7) wasn’t far away when 5th at his first run in the state and I’m going to stick with him on an each-way basis due to him drawing inside his two main rivals. QUNITON (8) is racing well without winning this time in and will fight out the finish with normal luck in running. POCKET THE CHANGE (4) hasn’t been prominent in his first two starts back from a spell but can improve sharply. Tips: 9 7 8 4 Suggested Bet: DAWSON (7) each way. Race 9 RUBY LOU (8) has a wide draw to overcome but she has been racing well against the boys and should prove very hard to beat. WICKED LOVER (7) has good gate speed and has finished 2nd at her last two starts and is an obvious danger. CIGANDA (5) is first-up without a trial but raced consistently last time and can play a part. SPIRITED WHITBY (6) goes up in class after recording back-to-back victories but her times suggest she will be competitive. Tips: 8 7 5 6 Suggested Bet: RUBY LOU (8) to win. Race 10 MISS BEJEWELED (1) makes her race debut and her recent trial where she dashed home in 28.3 indicates that she will be hard to beat from the pole. Her stablemate ATLAS LAST (2) should be undefeated after two starts and the strength of her last start victory makes her an obvious danger. VIVA LOST WAGES (4) and IM CATEGORY FIVE (5) both won on debut and won’t be far behind the favoured pair. Tips: 1 2 5 4 Suggested Bet: MISS BEJEWELED (1) to win. Market Market
