Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 24, 2025April 24, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 BLAMEITONTHENIGHT (5) was sent out as favourite at his last start but did too much work in a quickly run race and finished at the rear. This a lot easier and he gets the perfect opportunity to bounce back. ARIONROCK (2) has been placed in 11 of his last 14 starts and should fight out the finish again. NAVY STREET (9) normally finds it hard from wide draws but he is racing very well and can be in the money. HAVEYOUMETTED (6) followed an all-the-way victory with a solid 5th here last week and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 5 2 9 6 Suggested Bet: BLAMEITONTHENIGHT (5) to win. Race 2 KINGSEAT (1) had won two of his previous three starts on country tracks before coming to town and running a game 2nd to MARBEECHSAM (10) after facing the breeze. He gets the barrier advantage over that rival tonight and can turn the tables. MARBEECHSAM (10) has won his last two starts and will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. FRANKIE J HOLDEN (5) has won four of his five starts this time in, mostly from the breeze and he has the strength to take up that position and fight out the finish again. SIDSTREPO (11) was placed behind the favoured pair at his last start and should be thereabouts again. Tips: 1 10 5 11 Suggested Bet: KINGSEAT (1) to win. Race 3 MIKIS BEACH (3) started from the backline when 2nd to Spyglass before facing the breeze when a solid 4th to BLAZING REACTOR (10). He is drawn better than his two main rivals tonight and will be hard to beat if he can take up the running. BETTORS PRIDE (4) has good gate speed and he will become the one to beat if he can manage to cross the favourite at the start. BLAZING REACTOR (10) has won three of his last four starts but has an awkward draw to overcome. MISTER PICCOLO (5) beat home MIKIS BEACH (3) at his last start but doesn’t map well here. Tips: 3 4 10 5 Suggested Bet: MIKIS BEACH (3) to win. Race 4 LION QUEEN (3) resumed from a five-month layoff with an impressive win against her own sex. She steps up in class here and takes on the boys but will be hard to beat if she can find the front. BELLY UP (12) hasn’t finished further back than 2nd in his three starts this time and will immediately become the horst to beat if LION QUEEN (3) doesn’t find the top. SOHO MOONRAKER (10) seems to trial better than he races but he might be suited with a soft run on the pegs and is capable of winning this at good each way odds. OUR LILILOU (1) has shown that she can trail a hot speed and can be in the money. Tips: 3 12 10 1 Suggested Bet: LION QUEEN (3) to win. Race 5 MENEMSHA (5) was outclassed by Nullarbor runner Justcallmemiki in quick time before charging home to finish 4th here last week. This is a more suitable assignment and he appeals as the one to beat. GOLDEN LODE (9) finished his last campaign in red-hot form and will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. ROLLING FIRE (8) has disappointed at his two starts this time in but should be approaching peak fitness and can improve sharply. MAJOR FREEWAY (1) doesn’t have the class of many of his rivals but he has the pole draw and his last run was full of merit. Tips: 5 9 8 1 Suggested Bet: MENEMSHA (5) to win. Race 6 PRINCE OF PLEASURE (1) has been unplaced at his two starts back from a spell but will be a sharp improver from the pole and is clearly the one to beat. TRICKY MIKI (8) has been racing against stronger company and is capable of overcoming the wide draw against this field. IMA FIVESTAR GENERAL (10) is drawn to follow the favourite and looks a good place chance. BLITZEMBYE (4) ran a nice 5th to Catch A Wave here last week and looks to be getting back to his best. Tips: 1 8 10 4 Suggested Bet: PRINCE OF PLEASURE (1) to win. Race 7 QUINTON (3) has resumed in good form and ran a nice 2nd in quick time on Monday. He is well drawn here and should give a great sight in a wide-open affair. FRANCO ENMINSRCORE (5) has very good gate speed and will be hard to catch if he crosses at the start but he is bit one-dimensional at this stage. THE LITTLEMASTER (7) will settle towards the rear but will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. GREVIS (4) couldn’t make up ground in a quick last quarter but should be prominent throughout here and can make his presence felt. Tips: 3 5 7 4 Suggested Bet: QUINTON (3) to win. Race 8 FRANCO SHERIFF (4) was a good first-up winner before struggling to get into the race when 11th to Frankie J Holden. This is an easier assignment and he should prove hard to beat. KEEYANG JIGSAW (3) showed good gate speed to cross from a wide draw when 2nd here two starts back and should give a great sight if he can find the front tonight. YA BETTOR FOLLOWME (1) tried to lead throughout when 8th here last week and may take the sit tonight and he should be thereabouts. ROLLINDOWNTHERIVER (6) has finished just behind the placegetters at his last three starts and will appreciate the drop in class tonight. Tips: 4 3 1 6 Suggested Bet: FRANCO SHERIFF (4) to win. Race 9 CYCLONE JORDY (6) brought up his eighth victory in a row when defeating Belly Up at his last start and is clearly the one to beat again but will find this more of a challenge. CAPTAIN STIRLING (2) faced the breeze when 4th to CYCLONE JORDY (6) at his last start but will give them something to catch if he can find the front tonight. SCOOTER B (3) impressed in winning both starts last time in and has plenty of ability but lacks the race fitness of his rivals. FAKENIT (4) should be undefeated and is a very promising filly who will find it tougher against the boys but can be placed. Tips: 6 2 3 4 Suggested Bet: CYCLONE JORDY (6) to win. Race 10 MINSTREL (4) has faced the breeze at his last three starts for a 1.6m 2nd in the Interdominion, a strong Pinjarra Cup win and a game 2nd in state record time in the Mount Eden Sprint. The barrier draw has fallen his way and it will take an exceptional horse to beat him if he works his way to the front as expected. SWAYZEE (10) just may be that exceptional horse. He is capable of working hard in his races and is proven on smaller tracks so he is the obvious danger. MIGHTY RONALDO (2) is a proven giant killer who is likely to settle three back on the pegs and is the value runner of the field. MISTER SMARTEE (7) is likely to go forward before getting cover from SWAYZEE (10) and is capable of finishing over the pair if they go to war a long way out. CATCH A WAVE (9) was ultra-impressive when leading throughout here last week and can win but he will need some breaks to go his way and looks under the odds in early markets. Tips: 4 10 2 7 Suggested Bet: MINSTREL (4) to win. Market Market
