Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on November 7, 2024November 7, 2024 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 WHATARETHEODDS (1) raced well last time in and warmed up for this with a solid Byford trial win over Ragazzo Mach. He has the advantage of the pole draw first-up and will be hard to catch if he can hold up at the start. VENTURA (2) is first-up without a trial and is now with Gary Hall Jnr. He has plenty of ability so monitor the betting. MIKIS PRIDE (11) was a n impressive winner at his first run back from a break and should enjoy a nice run just behind the speed. ALTA FREEWAY (10) has won three of his last four starts and the rise in class is offset by his nice trailing draw. Tips: 1 2 11 10 Suggested Bet: WHATARETHEODDS (1) to win. Race 2 BRICKIES DREAM (9) couldn’t get into the race first-up but hit the line nicely when midfield behind Acuto. He is better drawn tonight and should give a great sight. OTIS (5) faced the breeze from this draw when 3rd to Love On The Rocks in 1.56.0 and this looks slightly easier. THOMSON BAY (1) led throughout in 1.57.2 here two starts back and should lead and give them something to catch again. REGAL CHEVAL (10) railed up to finish 2nd to Acuto here last week and will enjoy a soft run on the pegs again. Tips: 3 5 1 10 Suggested Bet: BRICKIES DREAM (3) to win. Race 3 CONEY ISLAND LOU (1) was somewhat inconsistent last time in but his best was very good and he looks the one to beat from the pole after his nice 2nd to Pinny Tiger in a recent Pinjarra trial. SKYLOU (5) faced the breeze when a game 3rd in the Pinjarra Classic on Monday and will make his presence felt here. STREET HAWK (7) ran a nice 2nd first-up and has the ability but the wide draw will be a challenge. GOODFELLAZ (10) looked full of running when held up here last week and can improve sharply. Tips: 1 5 7 10 Suggested Bet: CONEY ISLAND LOU (1) to win. Race 4 STENO (2) led throughout in 1.53.5 over this distance against a similar field two starts back and looks the one to beat again. AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (4) has won eight of her nine WA starts with the only blemish being when she broke in the score up. She will have work cut out to beat the favourite after drawing to her outside but is the logical danger. LITTLE DARLING (1) chased hard when 2nd to AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (4) here last week and looks a great place chance from the draw. WONDERFUL TO FLY (10) looked back to something like her best when winning here last week and will enjoy a soft run on the pegs. Tips: 2 4 1 10 Suggested Bet: STENO (2) to win. Race 5 PINNY TIGER (1) hasn’t had much luck in his last two starts but he can make his own from the pole tonight and he has led throughout in 1.55.6 over this distance so he will give a great sight. CAPTAIN RAVISHING (11) was impressive in winning his first start on the track and he will derive great benefit from that experience. MINSTREL (2) is drawn to control the race from the breeze and would be very hard to beat at his best but the query is he did miss a lead up run. MISTER SMARTEE (5) was the pre-post favourite and is still a great winning chance but the draw has done him no favours. JUMPINGJACKMAC (4) is racing well enough to win this if he gets the right breaks and is the best roughie in the field. Tips: 1 11 2 5 Suggested Bet: PINNY TIGER (1) to win. Race 6 ALCOPONY (2) led when a close 2nd over this trip four starts back and he will give a great sight on an each-way basis if he can find the front tonight. STEEL THE SHOW (3) was a strong winner against a similar field three starts back and looks a major player from this barrier. WILDWEST (4) is suited at this distance and will be hitting the line hard. FLYING RUMOUR (1) has disappointed when leading at his last two starts but might look to race with a sit tonight and can improve sharply. Tips: 2 3 4 1 Suggested Bet: ALCOPONY (2) each way. Race 7 HOPPYS WAY (1) has been sound at his three runs back from a spell and looks the leader and one to beat from the pole draw. TOMMY WATERHOUSE (10) was well supported but didn’t get out until too late when 4th here last week and he can make his own luck tonight. ROCK ME OVER (10) follows speed well and looks a great place chance if he can hold on to the polemarker’s back in the early stages. BLAZE COOPS (3) has been settling better and could enjoy a nice run just behind the favoured pair. Tips: 1 2 10 3 Suggested Bet: HOPPYS WAY (1) to win. Race 8 GEE HEZA SPORT (2) was ultra-impressive in winning a Pinjarra stand in track record time at his last start and looks set to win many races in WA. HAMPTON BANNER (3) led when a close-up 3rd here last week and will give a sight again if he can cross at the start. RUPERT OF LINCOLN (1) rises significantly in class after recording back-to-back victories but can be placed from the pole. DOMINUS FACTUM (4) is racing well but drawing outside of HAMPTON BANNER (3) makes his task difficult. Tips: 2 3 1 4 Suggested Bet: GEE HEZA SPORT (2) to win. Race 9 CHRISTOPHER DANCE (7) has beaten similar fields in the Western Gateway and WA Derby at his last two starts and he is clearly the one to beat again. TUALOU (4) was held up in the Western Gateway before working hard in the WA Derby and he will give plenty of cheek if he can find the front. GOLDEN LODE (8) finished just behind the placegetters in those two events and will be charging home here. THENU CAME ALONG (6) ran on to finish 3rd in the WA Derby and can be in the money again with the right trip. Tips: 7 4 8 6 Suggested Bet: CHRISTOPHER DANCE (7) to win. Race 10 FRISKY STYX (2) was a strong winner from the breeze in good time at his last start and he looks the likely leader and one to beat here. HIGH PRICE (4) chased hard when 3rd to Insta Gator in quick time here last week and he should fight out the finish again. CHIVALRY (5) continues to race well despite working hard in his races and he can go to the breeze and make his presence felt again. NAME IN LIGHTS (1) should sit behind the speed and can be placed. Tips: 2 4 5 1 Suggested Bet: FRISKY STYX (2) to win. Market Market
