Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 30, 2024May 30, 2024 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 XCEPTIONAL ARMA (9) has worked hard in the run and been placed at her last two starts. She may be able to find the breeze a bit easier tonight and will give a great sight on an each- way basis. MADAM PUBLISHER (8) has won five of her six career starts in easier company but her times suggest that she will measure up to this class. MISS HEPBURN (7) led when 2nd to Water Lou in the Diamond Classic and should fight out the finish again. AMBITSAYA (1) disappointed here on Tuesday but she has plenty of ability and could improve sharply. Tips: 9 8 7 1 Suggested Bet: XCEPTIONAL ARMA (9) each way. Race 2 CAPTAIN BLIGH (8) had no luck here last week from an awkward draw but he can be put into the race tonight and should prove hard to beat. HALE SAINT LOUIE (9) ran a slashing 3rd in the 4&5YO Championship before running on to be placed again last week and will be charging home. WINEGUM (2) over-raced in the breeze when 9th at his WA debut but he has trialled nicely since and will give them something to catch if he finds the front. BETTOR MOVE ALONG (1) has been unplaced at his last six starts but should be thereabouts from the pole. Tips: 8 9 2 1 Suggested Bet: CAPTAIN BLIGH (8) to win. Race 3 IDEAL TOMADO (1) attempted to lead throughout when 2nd to Ira Poole three starts back and he should give a great sight from the pole. CLOUD NINE (10) was well driven to win here last week and the rise in class is offset by his cosy trailing draw. IRA POOLE (5) sat outside the polemarker and defeated him on that occasion but the jury is out if he is still in that form. LOUCID DREAMS (3) looked disappointing here last week but he wasn’t suited by the quick lead time and he can bounce back. Tips: 1 10 5 3 Suggested Bet: IDEAL TOMADO (1) to win. Race 4 STREET HAWK (10) didn’t perform at his best in his last two campaigns but he looked sharp when resuming with a Pinjarra win and he will be charging home at each way odds if he has any luck from this draw. THE MIKI TAKER (12) continues to race well and has the strength to overcome the backline draw. THE CODE BREAKER (3) drew wide but ran a nice 2nd here last week and will be hard to beat if he can find the lead in the early stages. YOURE SO FINE (7) drops in class on his first-up 5th to Jumpingjackmac and should make his presence felt tonight. Tips: 10 12 3 7 Suggested Bet: STREET HAWK (10) each way. Race 5 FINVARRA (4) jumped straight to the front when a dominant winner here last week and he appeals as the one to beat again. STEEL THE SHOW (5) was beaten into 2nd by Jumpingjackmac at his last start and should be right in the finish here despite the awkward barrier. TO FAST TO SERIOUS (2) hit the line nicely here last week and can be dangerous from this draw. WHILE THEY PRAY (1) drew this barrier when he trailed Jumpingjackmac and finished 2nd to that pacer at his last start and can be placed again. Tips: 4 5 2 1 Suggested Bet: FINVARRA (4) to win. Race 6 MONTANA D J (4) crosses the Tasman with very good NZ form and warmed up for this with an impressive Byford trial win and appeals as the one to beat at his Australian debut. CARANA (8) has resumed with two wins and two placings from four starts in similar events and is suited by the small field. FRANKIE MAJOR (3) is first-up in WA without a trial but was racing in top company in NZ and must be respected. BELISSIMO ACQUISTO (1) is a reliable stand performer and won’t be far away. Tips: 4 8 3 1 Suggested Bet: MONTANA D J (4) to win. Race 7 QUEENINTHECORNER (4) crossed from a similar draw when an impressive 1.55.4 winner here last week and looks a great chance to record back-to-back victories. ACHARNE GIRL (8) led when 2nd in a stronger field here last week and is the obvious danger despite the wide draw. ALLAGLOW (2) has trialled nicely for her return and should be thereabouts. CHILLI PUNTER (1) is a filly taking on the older mares but looks a good place chance from the pole. Tips: 4 8 2 1 Suggested Bet: QUEENINTHECORNER (4) to win. Race 8 ALTA RHETT (4) ran a solid 3rd to Skylord at his last start and he will be hard to catch if he can find the front without doing too much work. ADVANTAGE (6) is the class runner of the field and can overcome his awkward barrier. ROCK ME OVER (8) hasn’t won for over 18 months but he is racing well and has the strength to be put into the race. GOLD HORSESHOE (10) is racing well but doesn’t have a good record at this track. Tips: 4 6 8 10 Suggested Bet: ALTA RHETT (4) to win. Race 9 WALL STREET GIRL (8) has been placed in seven of her past ten starts and should fiight out the finish tonight. VELOCIPEDE (6) was extremely disappointing when fancied first-up but he has plenty of ability and must be respected. TRITTRITTBANGBANG (1) doesn’t have the class of his two main rivals but he is drawn to be prominent throughout and looks a good each way chance. STAR OF WILLOUGHBY (7) has finished just behind the placegetters in his last four starts and won’t be far away gain. Tips: 8 9 1 7 Suggested Bet: TRITTRITTBANGBANG (1) each way. Market Market
