Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on November 8, 2018November 8, 2018 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 WALKINSHAW (1) won three of his six starts last campaign and resumes here without a trial. He has plenty of ability and should prove hard to beat if he can hold up from the pole. KIMANI (4) has impressed in his two WA runs, including a strong win here last week when he settled near the rear. MATTJESTIC STAR (10) put up a career best performance last week and has to be considered on that effort. SUSPICIOUS LIFE (2) has the gate speed to make things interesting early and should be thereabouts. Tips: 1 4 10 2 Suggested Bet: WALKINSHAW (1) to win. Race 2 MAXENTIUS (6) has been enormous in defeat at his past two starts and is due for a change of luck. He over raced in the breeze when his deafeners released prematurely last week but still fought on well and looks the one to beat tonight. SOHO CHELSEA (2) led throughout in 1.55.2 at his last start and will give them something to catch if he finds the top. IM SOXY (1) was a good winner from the pole last week and can handle the rise in class. GOTTA GO GABBANA (5) warmed up for this with a recent Byford trial win and should be thereabouts. Tips: 6 2 1 5 Suggested Bet: MAXENTIUS (6) to win. Race 3 CHIAROSCURO (1) was well driven to defeat Kimani last start and gets the pole draw tonight. He will either lead or get a lovely run on the pegs and will prove hard to beat either way. THEREUGO (8) flew out to lead from a similar draw last week when a close-up 3rd. He will probably cross again and looks the other main hope. MICHEAL CARTER (9) ran 3rd in the same event but has a tough draw to overcome. GLOW BRIGHT (4) should settle in a handy position and can be in the money. Tips: 1 8 9 4 Suggested Bet: CHIAROSCURO (1) to win. Race 4 SIGHTSEEING ANVIL (1) won here from a similar draw five starts back and hasn’t had much luck since. He should either lead or get a lovely run on the pegs and looks a major player. JAXON FELLA (10) ran home strongly to finish 2nd here last week and should be dangerous late if he has any luck from trailing draw. TANAKA EAGLE (3) is a bit one-dimensional but will be hard to catch if he can cross at the start. MISTER ARDEE (7) was held up for a run here last week and will be finishing strongly if the race is run to suit. Tips: 1 10 3 7 Suggested Bet: JAXON FELLA (10) each way. Race 5 EL JACKO (1) is a talented pacer who battled bad barriers last campaign but still performed admirably. He steps up in class tonight but has the advantage of the pole draw and should be thereabouts throughout. MACZAFFAIR (4) led when 2nd to Vampiro three starts back and hasn’t been able to get into the race at her next wo runs. She could find the front here and would be hard to catch in that role. EDEN FRANCO (5) is flying but is likely to be forced to work hard in the run. OVERBOARD AGAIN (2) must be considered from this draw. Tips: 1 4 5 2 Suggested Bet: EL JACKO (1) to win. Race 6 MAJOR STARE (12) was only placed in one of his last six starts before a spell but raced in stronger company than he meets tonight. He resumes without a trial but will prove hard to beat if he is anywhere near his top. YACKANDANDAH (2) was a good 2nd at his first start back from a spell before being held up for a run at a crucial stage last week and should be prominent from this draw. BROTHA OFA GANGSTA (1) will appreciate the pole draw and won’t be far away. EL MACHINE (4) needs luck but is always a chance with the right run. Tips: 12 2 1 4 Suggested Bet: MAJOR STARE (12) to win. Race 7 PICK MY POCKET (5) has been placed behind Dontstopbelievin at her first two runs back from a spell and should be at peak fitness now. She was a brave 2nd at her last start and will prove hard to beat. PARISIAN PARTYGIRL (2) has improved considerably of late with her last two placings being full of merit and draws inside her main rival. MILLWOOD BRANDY (4) led and was narrowly beaten in a similar event at her last start and won’t be far away. SUZIES GEM (1) has the perfect draw and can be in the money. Tips: 5 2 4 1 Suggested Bet: PICK MY POCKET (5) to win. Race 8 CAPTAIN MANNERING (7) has been performing well in stronger fields, including a 3rd behind Cut For An Ace and Bright Diamond at his last start. He is drawn poorly but can be put into the race early if desired and should give a great sight. ACE BROMAC (9) hasn’t been on his best behaviour recently but has the ability to win this if he puts it all together. BROOKIES JET (1) is always a chance when he draws well and shouldn’t be far away. ESTOCADA (2) was a strong winner at his first run back from a spell in easier company. Tips: 7 9 1 2 Suggested Bet: ESTOCADA (2) each way. Race 9 BETTOR FINISH (1) has been a beaten favourite at four of his last five starts but gets one more chance tonight. He has been crossed from this barrier recently but it doesn’t appear to be a quick front line and he should be hard to catch if he can hold up. LUIS ALBERTO (5) couldn’t get into the race last week but must be considered on his previous 2nd to Benhope Rulz. THE ARSONIST (7) ran an eye-catching 3rd at his 2nd run back from a long absence and looks ready to show his best. THE REDEEMER (2) is drawn to be thereabouts in the run. Tips: 1 5 7 2 Suggested Bet: BETTOR FINISH (1) to win. Race 10 SCOOBYS DELIGHT (2) led when he resumed from a spell and was run down by American Dynasty. He should be fitter for that effort and this looks no harder. TSAR BOMB (3) has shown ability in the past and resumes from a long spell for Tony Svilicich. His recent Byford trial placing indicated that he could be in for a good campaign. KAYTEEOH DENARIO (1) wasn’t that far away when 6th to Dontstopbelievin from this draw two starts back and will appreciate the drop in class. JASPER CASPER (8) is a 12YO but did win at his last start. Tips: 2 3 1 8 Suggested Bet: SCOOBYS DELIGHT (2) to win. Market Market
