Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 12, 2023March 10, 2023 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 MEA CULPA (11) has gone to a new level recently with a 1.54.0 Pinjarra victory two starts back followed by a strong 2nd to Run For Mercy from the breeze here last week. He should enjoy a nice run through from this draw and will give a great sight. LUCKY GALLEON (12) recorded back-to-back Pinjarra victories before running a nice 3rd here last week and looks the main danger. ROCKNROLL ELLIOT (6) is racing well and has the strength to be driven positively here. TINSELTOWN (1) looks a good place chance from the pole. Tips: 11 12 6 1 Suggested Bet: MEA CULPA (11) to win. Race 2 PINNY TIGER (6) sprinted brilliantly after a soft trip to win the 4YO Classic before he led but couldn’t handle the pressure when distanced in the Golden Nugget. He ran a close 2nd to Lavra Joe in a recent trial and has the speed here to cross and be hard to catch. TENZING BROMAC (3) was a good 3rd in the Golden Nugget and looks the obvious danger if he does everything right. DON’T BOTHER ME NONE (1) would be hard to beat if he led but may not have the speed to hold up. IMA ROCKABILLY REBEL (4) will be running on. Tips: 6 3 1 4 Suggested Bet: PINNY TIGER (6) to win. Race 3 RAGAZZO MACH (4) was held up until late when 6th to Diego here last week and will appreciate the drop in class tonight. SUGAR STREET (2) followed consecutive victories with two strong efforts from the breeze and will be hard to beat if he can find the top here. MIDDLEPAGE (1) lacks gate speed but will settle close to the lead from the pole and must be considered. SOCRATES (6) wasn’t far away when a first-up 9th and will strip fitter for this assignment. Tips: 4 2 1 6 Suggested Bet: RAGAZZO MACH (4) to win. Race 4 PERFECT MAJOR (1) has finished towards the rear in his three runs back from a long spell but has had excuses and gets his chance from the pole tonight. GLENLEDI CHIEF (7) has impressed with a close 2nd to Himself followed by a strong win here last week and is ready for the rise in class. MIGHTY CONQUEROR (8) did too much work in the early stages but battled on OK here last week and will appreciate the drop in class here. BEAT CITY (5) caught the eye when a fast-finishing 2nd to GLENLEDI CHIEF (7) and can figure. Tips: 1 7 8 5 Suggested Bet: PERFECT MAJOR (1) to win. Race 5 LAVRA JOE (1) led throughout to win consecutive events in November and has had excuses in his three unplaced runs since. He looks the likely leader here and is now clearly the one to beat. DIEGO (2) has led throughout to win three of his last four starts but is versatile and can unwind a big finish. He should settle in a nice spot just behind the speed and will be dangerous late. MAGNIFICENT STORM (8) hasn’t been able to overcome wide draws recently and looks set for another tough run but is too good to overlook. HAMPTON BANNER (10) gets the draw he needs and looks a good place chance. Tips: 1 2 8 10 Suggested Bet: LAVRA JOE (1) to win. Race 6 NEVERMINDTHECHAOS (5) has worked hard in the run and been placed at her last two starts. He is drawn better tonight and appeals as the one to beat. CHERISHTHEMEMORIES (4) has led for narrow 2nds at his last two starts and will be hard to catch if she can find the front. STAR OF DIAMONDS (7) defeated the favoured pair here last week and can repeat the dose if the race is run to suit. FIFTY FIVE REBORN (8) has been placed in five of her past six starts in stronger company but is better suited when she can race near the lead. Tips: 5 4 7 8 Suggested Bet: NEVERMINDTHECHAOS (5) to win. Race 7 JAMES BUTT (1) hasn’t won a race for nearly three years and resumes here without a trial but he will be hard to beat against this moderate line-up if he is anywhere near his best. THE KRAKEN (3) was crossed at the start when 4th to Pradason here last week and must be considered. MANNING (9) is drawn poorly but can work to the breeze here and will run a race from that role. GRAN CHICO (5) looked in need of the run at his first start in nearly two years and will strip fitter for this assignment. Tips: 1 3 9 5 Suggested Bet: JAMES BUTT (1) to win. Race 8 STRAUNY (10) has galloped out at his last two starts which is a concern but he overcame the slow start to record a strong win and is clearly the one to beat here. AUSSIE SCOOTER (9) has been placed in eight of his past nine starts in similar events and was a 1.3m 2nd to STRAUNY (10) here last week. STEAM PUNK (6) ran a nice 5th behind the favoured pair last week and could be on the improve. AMERICAN BULLITT (3) disappointed here last week but is capable of being placed with a soft trip. Tips: 10 9 6 3 Suggested Bet: STRAUNY (10) to win. Race 9 PRADASON (1) led throughout in 1.56.7 here last week and should lead and give a great sight again. HANDSANDWHEELS (2) is working his way back to his best and looks the obvious danger to his stablemate. SANGUE REALE (5) led throughout here in good time at his last start but has an awkward draw to overcome tonight. VALBONNE (3) is first-up but should enjoy a nice run just behind the speed and can be placed. Tips: 1 2 5 3 Suggested Bet: PRADASON (1) to win. Race 10 HENGHENG (1) has resumed in two unsuitable races from the stand but is better suited here and he should run a big race if he can hold up at the start. UNCONDITIONAL (2) hasn’t had much luck lately but she has good gate peed and will give a great sight if she can find the front in the early stages. RUMOUR HAS IT (9) is first up without a trial and has a tough draw to overcome but she has plenty of ability so monitor the market. CARRERA MACH (6) ran an improved race when 2nd to Middlepage at his last start and should be thereabouts. Tips: 1 2 9 6 Suggested Bet: HENGHENG (1) to win. Market Market
