Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on September 15, 2022September 15, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 WHATARETHEODDS (1) has finished just behind the placegetters at his two runs back from a spell in strong fields. He drops in class tonight and looks the one to beat from the pole draw. MACHS BETTOR (6) caused a minor upset when beating Swingband at his last start and must be considered despite the awkward draw. HOPPYS WAY (8) crossed to the lead throughout from a similar draw four starts back and can’t be overlooked. ROLLINDOWNTHERIVER (3) is an improving type who should enjoy a nice run. Tips: 1 6 8 3 Suggested Bet: WHATARETHEODDS (1) to win. Race 2 DOC HOLLIDAY (4) was a strong 2nd from the breeze here last week in a similar event and should fight out the finish again. RUPERT OF LINCOLN (1) was a close-up 4th in that event and will be hard to beat if he can make the most of the pole draw. WHATABRO (2) will enjoy a nice run from this gate and looks a winning chance. FANCI A DANCE (7) is better suited when he can race up on the speed and may elect to go forward tonight. Tips: 4 1 2 7 Suggested Bet: DOC HOLLIDAY (4) to win. Race 3 STAMFORD (5) raced well last time in including a 1.55.7 all-the-way victory before going for a break. He resumes here without a trial but will give a great sight if he is forward in condition. BOOM TIME (2) is always thereabouts when he draws well and looks one of the major players here. EUPHORIA (7) has been placed in seven of his past eight starts and has the strength to overcome the wide draw. BETTOR COPAGOODONE (1) hasn’t been able to get into the race at her first two runs back from a spell but can improve sharply from the pole. Tips: 5 2 7 1 Suggested Bet: STAMFORD (5) to win. Race 4 DONT BOTHER ME NONE (1) resumes here without a trial but has won 13 of his 25 starts and appeals as the one to beat after coming up with the pole draw. MR FANTASTIC (2) was hopelessly blocked for a run at his last start but his previous form was excellent and he has the advantage of race fitness over his main rival. PLUTONIUM (8) has been ultra-impressive in winning five of his six starts this time in but will find it harder from out here. THE IDEAL TOUCH (9) has come back in top form and will be charging home again. Tips: 1 2 8 9 Suggested Bet: DONT BOTHER ME NONE (1) to win. Race 5 ZEPHYRA (3) has now recorded five wins and two 2nds from her seven career starts and has proven to be a class above her rivals recently. She is nicely drawn here and is clearly the one to beat. CABSAV (1) has the speed to lead and will give a great sight if she does hold the front. OUR LADY JEN (5) has impressed with all-the-way victories at her last two starts but is unlikely to find the front tonight. FLAMETREE (10) started at $1.60 when finishing down the track behind the favourite at her last start but will enjoy a soft run on the pegs here. Tips: 3 1 5 10 Suggested Bet: ZEPHYRA (3) to win. Race 6 NEVER ENDING (1) couldn’t have been more impressive in winning all four starts and looks extremely hard to beat from the pole. VALEDICTORIAN (12) has won three of his last four starts and was a game 2nd to NEVER ENDING (1) in the other but will be giving his main rival a head start here. ROCKET CITY (10) disappointed at his first run back from a spell but looks a good place chance from this draw. CROWD CONTROL (11) ran on well when 3rd to the favoured pair two starts back and can be in the money again. Tips: 1 12 10 11 Suggested Bet: NEVER ENDING (1) to win. Race 7 MISS LIMELIGHT (1) went to a new level for Ryan Bell last time in, culminating in a dominant 1.55.3 victory when she worked hard in the final lap. She resumes here without a trial but looks the one to beat if she can hold up at the start. BETTOR GET IT ON (11) raced well at the end of her last campaign and should enjoy a nice run in the moving line. IN THE SPOTLIGHT (7) disappointed at her last start but had won her previous six so she must be respected. LIVY JAY (10) is a last start winner drawn to get a soft run behind the favourite. Tips: 1 11 7 10 Suggested Bet: MISS LIMELIGHT (1) to win. Race 8 TENZING BROMAC (9) has won all eight starts since crossing the Tasman and was ultra-impressive in facing the breeze and recording a 1.53.9 win over Rascal at his last start. The wide draw makes it harder but he is still clearly the one to beat. VULCAN STAR (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and is capable of upsetting his stablemate if the breaks go his way. ROCKNROLL ELLIOT (5) is racing well but goes up in class tonight. STRAUNY (1) has won three of his last four and the rise in class is offset by the pole draw. Tips: 9 10 5 1 Suggested Bet: VULCAN STAR (10) each way. Race 9 LAVRA JOE (3) contacted his sulky and over-raced here before recording a narrow but impressive win here last week in 1.54.6 and is the one to beat again. HAMPTON BANNER (1) led when a narrow 2nd in that event and will give a great sight again. MIRRAGON (2) is drawn to trail the polemarker and won’t be far away despite the rise in class. BLETCHLEY PARK (5) has shown he is up to this class but the draw makes it tough. Tips: 3 1 2 5 Suggested Bet: LAVRA JOE (3) to win. Race 10 ROCKSTAR REBEL (10) has been racing in stronger company and will appreciate the drop in class if he sees daylight at the right time. TIGER ROYAL (5) has been finishing just behind the placegetters in better company recently and will appreciate the likelihood of a slower last quarter tonight. MATTJESTIC STAR (1) is getting on but grows a leg in front and can give a sight. BETTORSTARTDREAMING (2) is one dimensional but he can improve sharply if he crosses at the start. Tips: 10 5 1 2 Suggested Bet: ROCKSTAR REBEL (10) each way. Market Market
