Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on September 6, 2018 | Posted by James Sullivan Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 DODOLICIOUS (3) has led and been beaten by her stablemate, BETTER B CHEVRON (10), at her last two starts. She looks a good chance to get the front again and might be able to pinch a big enough break to reverse the recent results. BETTER B CHEVRON (10) has proven to be the superior mare and will be hard to hold out with normal racing luck. ARTHUR LOWE (1) has options at the start and looks the other winning chance. BRAVO TEX (6) is always thereabouts but this race may not be run to suit. Tips: 3 10 1 6 Suggested Bet: DODOLICIOUS (3) to win. Race 2 SOHO CHELSEA (4) was placed in three consecutive runs before finding the lead after a quick lead time and battling on well to finish 4th to Vampiro in 1.55.6 here last week. This looks easier and he should be hard to beat. THREE KINGS (1) led throughout here two starts back and must be considered from pole. THE SPINSTER (2) has finished just behind the placegetters at her past two but is better drawn tonight and should be in the finish. ROBERT THE BRUCE (3) needs things to go his way but does have ability. Tips: 4 1 2 3 Suggested Bet: SOHO CHELSEA (4) to win. Race 3 SPEED MAN (4) has won four of his six starts this campaign including a victory here last week when he was crossed early but worked to the front before cruising in. He looks a good chance to find the top again and will prove very hard to beat. LIVURA (6) has been chasing home smart types in lightning last halves at his last two starts and should be right in the mix here. EXTREME PRINCE (1) chased hard when 2nd to Simba Bromac two starts back and can repeat that effort here. GLOW BRIGHT (2) was held up last start and can be placed. Tips: 4 6 1 2 Suggested Bet: SPEED MAN (4) to win. Race 4 WHENMECHIEF (1) has only been placed once in his last 13 starts but gets his chance tonight. He grows a leg in front and meets a very weak field so should take some catching. C C CHEVRON (8) has been placed at three of his last four starts and will be finishing strongly again. BAD ROUND (2) has only been placed at one of his past 18 starts but should get a perfect trip tonight. GLENFERRIE ARCH (5) isn’t racing at her top but drops in class and could represent value. Tips: 1 8 2 5 Suggested Bet: WHENMECHIEF (1) to win. Race 5 RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN (6) has finished 2nd to Chicago Bull at his last two starts and will appreciate not running into the champ tonight. He doesn’t map particularly well but his class makes him the one to beat. VAMPIRO (7) is flying and is capable of bringing up his third consecutive victory if the race is run to suit. JOHNNY DISCO (2) grows a leg in front and gets his chance to lead tonight. THE BUCKET LIST (8) will find a race with a strong early tempo at some stage and will be dangerous when that eventuates. Tips: 6 7 2 8 Suggested Bet: RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN (6) to win. Race 6 QTOWN RIP ROARING (1) isn’t racing at the top of his game but his recent form is still solid enough to be hard to beat from the pole against this line-up. SAY IT NOW (5) had no luck at all last start behind Speed Man but his recent form is good enough to breeze and be right in the finish tonight. TANAKA EAGLE (3) drops a long way in class on his recent assignments and would give them something to catch if he found the top. KERRIN JOSEPH (8) has disappointed this campaign but his last start 2nd was a marked improvement. Tips: 1 5 3 8 Suggested Bet: QTOWN RIP ROARING (1) to win. Race 7 DETROIT LILY (8) was well driven when an impressive winner here last week in 3YO company. She takes on the older mares but it actually looks an easier assignment and she is clearly the one to beat. IM STYLISH (3) was well backed when things didn’t go her way behind Better B Chevron last start and looks the main danger. SHEEZ EDGY (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can run into the money. SOHO CHANGELING (5) ran a distant 3rd to Madame Meilland here on Tuesday and can be placed again. Tips: 8 3 10 5 Suggested Bet: DETROIT LILY (8) to win. Race 8 TWENTYNINE TWELVE (8) ran a solid 4th at this track before leading throughout from an inside barrier at Pinjarra. He is unlikely to find the top tonight but this field looks a bit weaker. SMACKWATER JACK (3) has generally been disappointing but has the hood added tonight which may be the spark he needs. GONZOS SHADOW (5) was a good 4th last start and should be thereabouts. JUST A HORSE (1) has been battling bad barriers of late and could be a big improver. Tips: 8 3 5 1 Suggested Bet: TWENTYNINE TWELVE (8) to win. Race 9 DESTINED TO RULE (1) hasn’t won in his last 13 starts but his recent form is solid with placings at three of his last four. He finished strongly when 2nd to Rock Me Over on Saturday and gets his chance from the pole. FREE TO AIR (2) failed at his last start but his previous form was ultra-consistent and he should figure prominently. LIGHTNING JOLT (5) isn’t racing at his top but still must be considered in this line-up. MISTER ROLLINS (10) ran into the money along the pegs here last week and should enjoy a similar run tonight. Tips: 1 2 5 10 Suggested Bet: DESTINED TO RULE (1) to win. Race 10 KEEPER OF KEYS (2) has been unplaced at his three starts this campaign but ran a nice 2nd in a recent Byford trial and can improve enough to win this event. HEEZ ABOUT TO ROCK (1) didn’t have much luck here at his last start and must be considered from the pole. BROOKIES JET (4) won his last start before a spell and resumes here without a trial but would be hard to beat if near his top. BETTOR TWISTED (3) suffered a flat tyre last start and he could improve sharply here. Tips: 2 1 4 3 Suggested Bet: KEEPER OF KEYS (2) to win. Market Market
