Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on July 22, 2022July 22, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 CABSAV (1) faced the breeze when a strong 2nd to WANEA (9) at her last start and looks the one to beat after coming up with the pole draw tonight. AUGUST MOON (3) has finished 2nd at her last four starts and should fight out the finish again. ZEPHYRA (6) has defeated similar fields at her last two starts and is now with Dylan Egerton-Green. LUCIENNE (2) won a recent Byford trial and should enjoy a nice run on the pegs and won’t be far away. Tips: 1 3 6 2 Suggested Bet: CABSAV (1) to win. Race 2 MAUNGATAHI (1) led and was only beaten 5.2m by the talented Swingband in 1.55.0 at his last start before a spell. He is first-up here without a trial but will be hard to beat if he is near his top. GOODFELLAZ (10) has won three of his six career starts and will be dangerous if he sees daylight at the right time. SPEEDWAGON (3) has been placed in five of his six starts this time in and should be thereabouts again. LINEBACKER (5) will strip fitter for his first-up 2nd but is drawn outside of his main rivals. Tips: 1 10 3 5 Suggested Bet: MAUNGATAHI (1) to win. Race 3 MOONLITE DRIVE (1) won two on end before facing the breeze when a strong 2nd to Dominus Factum here last week and is clearly the one to beat. VULCAN STAR (7) didn’t finish further back than 2nd in nine starts last time in and dead-heated with Sugar Street at his first run back from a spell and should be right in the finish. ARMED REACTOR (8) showed plenty of ability last time in but is drawn wide against a couple of smart ones first-up. STEAM PUNK (2) is drawn to get a nice run and looks a good place chance. Tips: 1 7 8 2 Suggested Bet: MOONLITE DRIVE (1) to win. Race 4 ANGEL IN WHITE (1) was crossed at the start by Savvy Bromac when 2nd to that mare last week and will be hard to beat if she can hold up at the start. DOMINUS FACTUM (2) has used his gate speed to lead throughout at three of his four starts this time in and will be hard to beat if he can cross at the start. ARMA EINSTEIN (3) is racing extremely consistently and won’t be far away from this draw. BEAT CITY (7) is racing as well as any horse in this event but the wide barrier makes it tough. Tips: 1 2 3 7 Suggested Bet: ANGEL IN WHITE (1) to win. Race 5 EIGHTEEN CARAT (10) crossed the Tasman with a big reputation and didn’t disappoint with a 1.56.4 victory at her first start here. She hasn’t been seen for four months and has an awkward draw to overcome but must be respected. LADY ZEGNA (3) has won five of her eight career starts and the rise in class here is offset by her nice draw. PAROQUET (6) is a bit hit or miss but has trialled nicely and can give a sight at odds. STORMYSKYES (1) is drawn to get a good run on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 10 3 6 1 Suggested Bet: PAROQUET (6) each way. Race 6 MEDIEVAL MAN (1) has battled bad barriers since he led throughout from this draw four starts back and should give a great sight. BOOM TIME (2) was an eye-catching 5th at his first start back from a break and should fight out the finish here. HEEZ OUR PERSEUS (7) has the best form in the event including a last start win over Shadow Roll but has a tough draw to overcome. BRACKEN SKY (5) crossed from a similar draw and when he led throughout four starts back and a similar scenario is possible tonight. Tips: 1 2 7 5 Suggested Bet: MEDIEVAL MAN (1) to win. Race 7 FANCI A DANCE (5) has put up strong performances to be placed at his last two starts and gets his chance to break back into the winners’ circle tonight. POCKET THE CASH (2) was placed in his first four starts this time in before being blocked for a run when 4th here last week and looks a major player from his nice draw. RUPERT OF LINCOLN (4) was a strong 3rd from the breeze in that event and can play a part. BLISSFULABBEY (1) ran a nice 3rd behind two smart mares here last week and can be placed again. Tips: 5 2 4 1 Suggested Bet: FANCI A DANCE (5) to win. Race 8 VESPA (3) hasn’t had a lot of luck lately but looks a good chance to find the front tonight and will be hard to catch in that role. ORLANDO BLUE (9) hasn’t been at his best in his two starts back from a spell but is a classy customer and can be driven more aggressively in this line-up. JASPERVELLABEACH (7) drops in class on his three unplaced runs this time in and should be thereabouts. THE KRAKEN (1) is a one-paced type who always improves when he finds the pegs and won’t be far away here. Tips: 3 9 7 1 Suggested Bet: VESPA (3) to win. Race 9 MACHS GOLD (1) has been unplaced in his last 11 starts but did lead throughout from this draw back in January and looks a big improver against this moderate line-up. NAVAL AVIATOR (2) was fancied but over-raced and disappointed when 6th in a stronger field here last week and can bounce back. ROCK ME OVER (8) has only been placed once in his last 12 starts but is another who can improve in this company. TUAS DELIGHT (4) drops considerably in class on his first-up 9th and wouldn’t surprise if he was in the money. Tips: 1 2 8 4 Suggested Bet: MACHS GOLD (1) to win. Market Market
