Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on August 23, 2018August 23, 2018 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 KING OF SWING (9) was a strong winner of the WA Derby and has been impressive in demolishing weaker fields at his two starts back from a spell. This is a significant rise in class and he has the outside draw but he does look to be something special. LINCS TIGER (4) was comprehensively beaten by SPEED MAN (8) on Monday but is drawn better tonight and should be in the finish. SPEED MAN (8) was ultra-impressive on Monday but has a wide draw to overcome. FIZZING (3) is the best drawn of the main chances and can be placed. Tips: 9 – 4 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet: LINCS TIGER (4) each way. Race 2 QTOWN RIP ROARING (4) has been placed at two of his past five starts and his last run was a solid 4th behind Major Pocket. He has been racing in better company and looks a major player tonight. EXTREME DREAMS (3) found the top when an impressive all-the-way winner two starts back and would be hard to catch if he finds the lead here. ALGRANCO UNDER FIRE (1) is first up after an 18-month spell and his latest form is poor but would win this at his best. THREE KINGS (2) is well drawn and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 4 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet: QTOWN RIP ROARING (4) to win. Race 3 SIMBA BROMAC (1) led throughout for a comfortable 1.55.2 win from this draw last week and there is no reason why he can’t repeat the dose tonight. OVERBOARD AGAIN (2) was a solid winner here last week and looks the only danger. SOHO CHELSEA (3) was a good 2nd to Natural Disaster last start and should be thereabouts from this draw. ARTHUR LOWE (4) finished 4th behind SIMBA BROMAC (1) last start and will be chasing hard again. Tips: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet: SIMBA BROMAC (1). Race 4 EL JACKO (8) has only won one of his past seven but his last three starts have all been full of merit. He has settled back in the field and couldn’t catch the leaders in quick last halves but should find this an easier assignment tonight. MIGHTY MR SHARKEY (7) has finished 5th at his past three starts but will find this slightly easier. ARDENS CONCORD (11) has a perfect trailing draw and shouldn’t be far away. BETTOR NOT BITTER (2) hasn’t been racing well but has the hood added and a nice draw so could be an improver. Tips: 8 – 7 – 11 – 2 Suggested Bet: EL JACKO (8) to win. Race 5 CHICAGO BULL (6) has won all four starts this campaign in effortless fashion. This doesn’t look as easy but he should still prove his dominance. MY HARD COPY (4) is a perennial giant killer and his first-up win suggested that he is capable of upsetting his stablemate with the right run. GALACTIC STAR (3) is flying and would give them something to catch if he could find the top. RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN (2) is probably a rung below the topliners at this stage but has the best draw. Tips: 6 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (6) to win. Race 6 MITCH MAGUIRE (2) has resumed from a long break with two impressive standing start victories. He returns to a mobile event and goes up in class but his quality should see him bring up the hat-trick. LIVURA (6) was held up and hit the line nicely at his first run back from a spell and will be charging home. GOOD TIMES AHEAD (1) pulled off a plunge two starts back and can be placed from the pole. MISTER VERSACE (5) wasn’t far away last start and can run into the money. Tips: 2 – 6 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet: MITCH MAGUIRE (2) to win. Race 7 HES TALKING (1) found the front and won by 20m five starts back. He hasn’t led at his four subsequent starts and was only placed in one of those but gets his chance from the pole over the sprint trip. DESTINED TO RULE (7) has ran on to be placed at three of his last four starts and should be finishing strongly here. TAJIE BABY (8) has crossed from wide draws at his last three starts and finished 2nd on each occasion and will give cheek if he does lead. KAPTAIN KENNY (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 1 – 7 – 8 – 10 Suggested Bet: HES TALKING (1) to win. Race 8 VAMPIRO (9) has been placed at six of his seven starts this time in and is due to break through. He was a strong 3rd in the Marathon before running on well to finish 2nd to Johnny Disco and this looks his race tonight. COURAGE TELLS (1) led throughout in a mobile event three starts back and would be hard to catch if he pinged the stand. CUT FOR AN ACE (10) drops significantly in class and is suited by the small field. CRACKA STAR (7) was a comfortable winner here last week and should enjoy a nice run on the pegs. Tips: 9 – 1 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet: VAMPIRO (9) to win. Race 9 AUSSIE JET (6) was blocked for a run when an unlucky 4th here last week. He won’t find an easier metro event and gets his chance tonight. GONZOS SHADOW (7) has been placed at two of his past five and wasn’t far away last start in a better field. TERRAFORCE (8) has the best form in the event but isn’t suited by the wide draw and sprint distance. NOTHING IN BETWEEN (1) has the pole draw and that may be enough in a moderate field. Tips: 6 – 7 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet: AUSSIE JET (6) to win. Race 10 PINK DIAMONDS (1) settled back in the field and finished strongly to win a Pinjarra trial on Sunday and should be winning if she can hold up at the start. HOW GOUDA SHE (3) has ran on nicely at her last two starts and has shown gate speed in the past. ZARA WHITBY (4) led and ran 3rd in the trial won by PINK DIAMONDS (1) so it is hard to see her reversing that result. DELIGHTFUL SHADOW (9) was placed in three consecutive runs before a 2m 4th to the colts last week so must be respected despite the wide draw. Tips: 1 – 3 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet: PINK DIAMONDS (1) to win. Market Market
