Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 30, 2021December 30, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 NOTED (4) impressed at his first run back from a break when 2nd to Machs Bettor in 1.55.6. He is nicely drawn tonight and should prove hard to beat. MAUNGATAHI (3) caught the eye with a fast-finishing 2nd to BATTLESCARD (12) at his last start and is the best drawn of the main chances. PAUL EDWARD (7) was a strong 3rd in the same event and should be in the finish again. BATTLESCARD (12) led throughout to win that race and must be considered despite starting from the backline tonight. Tips: 4 3 7 12 Suggested Bet: NOTED (4) to win. Race 2 RAGAZZO MACH (7) has created a big impression with victories at his only two starts in the state. He is drawn wide on the smaller track tonight but looks to be a very classy customer and is clearly the one to beat. IDEAL AGENT (2) chased hard when a 10m 2nd to Ragazzo Mach before working too hard here last week. He looks the leader tonight and will give a great sight. MIDDLEPAGE (3) and HENRIK LARSSON (10) don’t have the class of the favoured pair but both are capable of being placed from their nice draws. Tips: 7 2 3 10 Suggested Bet: RAGAZZO MACH (7) to win. Race 3 FIFTY FIVE REBORN (4) was a strong 2nd from the breeze in slick time at her last start. She is drawn to be prominent throughout and should fight out the finish. RUPERT OF LINCOLN (10) couldn’t get into the race at his last start but must be considered on his win at his previous start. IM SOXY (6) drops in class on his recent assignments and is always dangerous with the right run. HEEZ OUR PERSEUS (8) was placed in five consecutive starts before suffering interference here last week and can run a race at odds. Tips: 4 10 6 8 Suggested Bet: FIFTY FIVE REBORN (4) to win. Race 4 ALTA INTRIGUE (3) dashed home in 55.6 to win here last week and will be extremely hard to catch if he can find the front again. HOWARD HUGHES (7) has won 14 of his 28 career starts and has the class to overcome the wide draw if he is forward in condition at his first start this time in. ROMAN ART (1) has options at the start from this draw and should be prominent throughout. THE IDEAL TOUCH (8) was a close 2nd to Jumpingjackmac at his last start and can play a part if he gets the right cart into the race. Tips: 3 7 1 8 Suggested Bet: ALTA INTRIGUE (3) to win. Race 5 MAGNIFICENT STORM (5) charged home from the rear when 4th to Wildwest at his last start and looks better suited over the longer trip tonight. CHICAGO BULL (6) ran on well when finishing alongside MAGNIFICENT STORM (5) in that event and looks the obvious danger. HAMPTON BANNER (2) looks the likely leader here and should give them something to catch. ROCKNROLL LINCOLN (1) was only 7m from the winner at his first run back from a two-year absence and should play a part from the pole. Tips: 5 6 2 1 Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (5) to win. Race 6 SAHARA STORM (12) has impressed in winning three of her four starts since arriving in WA. She will giving her main rivals a start but still appeals as the one to beat. BETTOR GET IT ON (2) has faced the breeze at her last four starts and finished 2nd on each occasion. She may be able to force her way to the top here and will give a great sight in that role. RUN FOR MERCY (4) disappointed in her last campaign but has won both starts this time and looks the other winning chance. IONA DIAMOND (1) led throughout at her last start and has options. Tips: 12 2 4 1 Suggested Bet: SAHARA STORM (12) to win. Race 7 ALICE KAY (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and will be hard to hold out if she sees daylight at the right time. THEREUGO (1) has been unplaced at his last five starts but could get an easy lead here and should give a sight. NOTA BENE DENARIO (8) isn’t well drawn but was a solid 2nd in stronger company here last week and can play a part. MANDY JOAN (6) was a close-up 3rd in 1.54.3 here last week. They won’t run anywhere near that time tonight but she does need the right run in transit. Tips: 10 1 8 6 Suggested Bet: ALICE KAY (10) each way. Race 8 BEAT CITY (10) is absolutely flying and has won three of his last four starts. He goes back to a 20m handicap tonight but is still clearly the one to beat. GEE SMITH (1) has been placed in 11 of his past 13 starts and should lead and give a great sight again. DOUBLE UP (8) was a solid 3rd to BEAT CITY (10) at his first run back from a spell and meets that rival on 20m better terms tonight. WITHOUTTHETUH (7) was well-driven to win a similar event two starts back and can be thereabouts if gets the right trip. Tips: 10 1 8 7 Suggested Bet: BEAT CITY (10) to win. Race 9 KNOW WHEN TO RUN (1) has been placed in three of his five starts since resuming from a two-year absence. His last effort was full of merit and he gets his chance to bounce back into the winners’ circle. ARMA EINSTEIN (6) was a strong 1.55.7 winner at his last start and looks the obvious danger. MAJOR MUCHA (10) is drawn to get the run of the race and looks a great place chance. INFATUATION (7) locked wheels and was tailed off here last week but must be considered on his two previous efforts when he was placed at this track. Tips: 1 6 10 7 Suggested Bet: KNOW WHEN TO RUN (1) to win. Race 10 BETTORS DESTROYA (1) led throughout to defeat NEVERMINDTHECHAOS (4) in 1.56.2 at her last start and looks the one to beat after drawing inside her main rival again. NEVERMINDTHECHAOS (4) followed that 2nd with two impressive victories and is the obvious danger. AMERICAN ARMA (9) was a strong 2nd to NEVERMINDTHECHAOS (4) at her last start but has a tough draw to overcome. RUMOUR HAS IT (6) is first-up without a trial but has plenty of ability so monitor the market. Tips: 1 4 9 6 Suggested Bet: BETTORS DESTROYA (1) to win. Market Market
