Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 24, 2021June 24, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper RACE 1 SUGAR STREET (10) has an awkward draw to overcome but is suited by the distance and has been tackling better company than he meets tonight. POWERPLAY (5) led throughout to record an easy victory here on Tuesday and will give a sight if he crosses at the start. ARMA EINSTEIN (8) had no luck last start but must be considered on his 1.56.9 victory at his previous run. GIVE US A WAVE (4) hasn’t had much luck of late but is drawn inside his main rivals tonight and can play a part. SELECTIONS: 10 – 5 – 8 – 4 SUGGESTED BET: SUGAR STREET (10) to win. EXOTIC BET: Flexi Trifecta 5,8,10 / 4,5,6,8,10 / 1,2,4,5,6,8,10 (Cost $30 for 50%) RACE 2 FANCI A DANCE (2) hasn’t won a race since 2018 but his last effort was full of merit and he looks a major player from this draw. THE VERANDAH (1) has been placed at his past three starts and Gary Hall Jnr has options at the start. VALENTINES BROOK (3) was a comfortable winner over THE VERANDAH (1) three starts back and has battled bad draws at his subsequent runs. MASTER LEIGHTON (10) has been placed at his past two starts and shouldn’t be far away from his nice trailing draw. SELECTIONS: 2 – 1 – 3 – 10 SUGGESTED BET: FANCI A DANCE (2) to win. EXOTIC BET: Flexi Trifecta 1,2,3 / 1,2,3,10,12 / 1,2,3,4,10,11,12 (Cost $30 for 50%) RACE 3 RUMOUR HAS IT (1) led throughout to win the Daintys Daughter in slick time towards the end of her last campaign. She is 2nd up tonight and should lead and give a great sight. ALICE KAY (7) was well-fancied in her four WA starts last time in but couldn’t find the winners’ circle. She has trialled nicely for her return and looks suited in this class. SMOOTH RYE (2) has won five of her last six starts and the rise in class is offset by the nice draw. SAGANO (5) finally had some luck when winning at her last start and can go on with it now. SELECTIONS: 1 – 7 – 2 – 5 SUGGESTED BET: RUMOUR HAS IT (1) to win. EXOTIC BET: Flexi Trifecta 1,7 / 1,2,5,7 / 1,2,4,5,6,7,10 (Cost $30 for 100%) RACE 4 SHOCKWAVE (7) resumed from a spell with a brilliant 1.55.5 all-the-way victory here last week. The draw makes this a tougher assignment but he is still clearly the one to beat. PATRONUS STAR (3) is an up-and-coming star who was beaten by MIGHTY CONQUEROR (8) in a photo finish at his last start and can make the most of his favourable draw. MIGHTY CONQUEROR (8) was back to his best last start but has a tough barrier to overcome. PERFECT MAJOR (6) looks a good place on his effort here last week. SELECTIONS: 7 – 3 – 8 – 6 SUGGESTED BET: SHOCKWAVE (7) to win. EXOTIC BET: Flexi Trifecta 3,7 / 3,6,7,8 / 2,3,4,6,7,8,10 (Cost $30 for 100%) RACE 5 ROCK ON TOP (10) ran on nicely to finish 3rd in the Pearl Classic and is drawn to sit behind the leader here and will be hard to hold out if he sees daylight at the right time. FLOEWRITER (1) led when 2nd in the Pearl and will lead and give a great sight again. TRICKY MIKI (5) has impressed in his two race starts and looks a major player. THE MIKI TAKER (9) defeated a similar field after breezing in the Pearl but is going to have to do more work from out in this draw. SELECTIONS: 10 – 1 – 5 – 9 SUGGESTED BET: ROCK ON TOP (10) to win.\ EXOTIC BET: Flexi Trifecta 1,5,10 / 1,2,5,9,10 / 1,2,3,5,9,10,11 (Cost $30 for 50%) RACE 6 WONDERFUL TO FLY (6) has impressed in winning her last two starts and should make it three on end tonight. TAKING THR MIKI (10) is racing well and is the obvious danger but has an awkward draw to overcome. SOVRANA (8) has won two of her last three starts but will find it harder from out here. DONTBESILLYCHILLI (2) is an improving type who won her first race at her last start and shouldn’t be far away from her nice draw. SELECTIONS: 6 – 10 – 8 – 2 SUGGESTED BET: WONDERFUL TO FLY (6) to win. EXOTIC BET: Flexi Trifecta 6 / 1,2,4,8,10 / 1,2,4,8,10 (Cost $30 for 150%) RACE 7 TO FAST TO SERIOUS (7) displayed his electrifying turn of foot to get over Lavra Joe in a 26.6 final quarter at his last start. He isn’t as well drawn tonight but has a class edge on his rivals and is clearly the one to beat. BOOM TIME (5) has been placed in eight of his past nine starts and should fight out the finish again. VALBONNE (1) led throughout here two starts back and has options from the pole draw. BACK IN TWENTY (2) is racing well and will give them something to catch if he can find the top. SELECTIONS: 7 – 5 – 1 – 2 SUGGESTED BET: TO FAST TO SERIOUS (7) to win. EXOTIC BET: Flexi Trifecta 7 / 1,2,5 / 1,2,3,4,5,6 (Cost $30 for 200%) RACE 8 THEREUGO (5) crossed, handed up and then chased home two smart horses here last week and may elect to hold the front if he crosses tonight. FIFTY FIVE REBORN (3) hasn’t had much luck at her two runs back from a spell and should be ready to show her best tonight. MACHS GOLD (1) has had no luck since a solid first-up 3rd here and should enjoy a nice run on the pegs tonight. VESPA (8) is racing extremely well and will be charging home if there is a solid early tempo. SELECTIONS: 5 – 3 – 1 – 8 SUGGESTED BET: MACHS GOLD (1) each way. EXOTIC BET: Flexi Trifecta 1,3,5 / 1,3,5,6,8 / 1,2,3,5,6,8,10 (Cost $30 for 50%) RACE 9 WALSH (12) will strip fitter for his first run back from a spell and should be charging home late. ONE FOR DAVE ANDME (3) has finished just behind the placegetters at his past four starts and looks suited in this company. WILL I ROCKNROLL (8) faced the breeze when a solid 3rd here last week and will appreciate a significant drop in class. BLACK JACK ZAC (2) is always dangerous with the right run and should enjoy a nice trip from this draw. SELECTIONS: 12 – 3 – 8 – 2 SUGGESTED BET: WALSH (12) to win. EXOTIC BET: Flexi Trifecta 3,8,12 / 1,2,3,8,12 / 1,2,3,8,9,11,12 (Cost $30 for 50%) Market Market
