Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 17, 2021June 17, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 DOUBLE UP (3) has impressed in winning his last four on end and is drawn to make it five on the trot. ALTA INTRIGUE (4) has finished just behind the placegetters in slick time at his last two starts and shouldn’t be far away from this barrier. MASTER LEIGHTON (2) trailed Louie The Horse when a close-up 3rd to that pacer here last week and can play a part from this draw. VALENTINES BROOK (7) is the other class runner but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 3 4 2 7 Suggested Bet: DOUBLE UP (3) to win. Race 2 BAYLAN JETT (1) resumes tonight and has warmed up for this assignment with a solid 2nd to Delightfulreaction in a recent Pinjarra trial. He looks the leader tonight and should give a great sight. VESPA (10) has been placed in two of his last three starts and looks a great each way chance from his nice trailing draw. FIFTY FIVE REBORN (6) worked too hard in the early stages when a solid 7th at her first run back from a break and should make her presence felt. POCKET THE CASH (8) has won his last two starts but the draw makes it tough. Tips: 1 10 6 8 Suggested Bet: VESPA (10) each way. Race 3 ALTA BLUES (5) has been an impressive winner of his past two starts and will strip fitter again for this assignment. RAKASINC (3) worked to the front when a 1.55.2 winner here last week and will be hard to catch if he can find the top. VALBONNE (1) led throughout to win here last start and must be considered from the pole despite the rise in class. BRACKEN SKY (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and could be the knockout horse if they go hard. Tips: 5 3 1 10 Suggested Bet: ALTA BLUES (5) to win. Race 4 SHOCKWAVE (1) resumes from a spell and warmed up for this with a nice Byford trial victory. He has a significant barrier advantage over his main rival and is the one to beat. CHICAGO BULL (6) has been beaten at his four starts this time in but his last effort was full of merit and he is the obvious danger. PERFECT MAJOR (3) hasn’t had much luck at his last two starts and could be an improver. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and looks a good place chance. Tips: 1 6 3 10 Suggested Bet: SHOCKWAVE (1) to win. Race 5 OTIS (3) defeated Mighty Ronaldo before running a nice 2nd to Lavra Joe in the Pearl and will be hard to catch if he can work his way to the top here. FINVARRA (6) was ultra-impressive in facing the breeze and recording a 1.53.7 victory at his last start and has a big future. SEERYANFLY (1) doesn’t have the class of his two main rivals but draws the pole and will play a part. TALKS UP A STORM (12) raced below his best last time in but resumed with an impressive victory and could be the value runner. Tips: 3 6 1 12 Suggested Bet: OTIS (3) to win. Race 6 BLACK JACK BABY (11) resumed from a spell with an effortless all-the-way victory and is clearly the one to beat despite the backline draw. CAPTAINS BEACHBABE (3) faced the breeze when a strong winner here two starts and will give a great sight if she can find the top. BETTOR BEACH BELLE (4) has won two of her last four and shouldn’t be far away despite the rise in class. RUMOUR HAS IT (12) did beat a similar field two starts but is first-up tonight and starts from the backline. Tips: 11 3 4 12 Suggested Bet: BLACK JACK BABY (11) to win. Race 7 FOLLOW THE MUSIC (1) led throughout from this draw five starts back and recorded a 1.56.7 two starts ago. He looks the leader here and will be very hard to catch. BUSHWHACKED (3) has good gate speed and would make things very interesting if he could cross at the start. SEVEN NO TRUMPS (4) is a consistent type who can make his presence felt if it is a truly run affair. NORTHERN GAZE (10) is drawn to get a soft trip on the pegs and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 1 3 4 10 Suggested Bet: FOLLOW THE MUSIC (1) to win. Race 8 EXTRAORDINARY MARY (1) is a great frontrunner who will get an easy lead here and will give them something to catch. WONDERFUL TO FLY (12) was an eye-catching 1.55.8 winner at her last start and is the best filly in the field but will be giving her main rival a big start. BRAMANTE STEPS (2) is still a maiden but is showing plenty of ability and wouldn’t surprise. MOTOR ON LILLY (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and looks a good place chance. Tips: 1 12 2 10 Suggested Bet: EXTRAORDINARY MARY (1) to win. Race 9 AL GUERRERO (1) has finished near the rear at his three starts back from a break but has battled bad draws in those events. He will lead tonight and looks extremely hard to beat. PIERRE WHITBY (2) is drawn to get a nice run close to the speed and shouldn’t be far away. WALSH (5) is first-up without a trial but would be a major player if he is close to his best. ALLWOODS ROCKNROLL (10) is drawn to get a perfect sit and can be placed at odds. Tips: 1 2 5 10 Suggested Bet: AL GUERRERO (1) to win. Race 10 LOUIE THE HORSE (9) has six wins and four placings from his last ten starts. He rated 1.54.3 in a mobile win here last week and is a proven standing start performer. CAVEMAN (3) has been racing extremely consistently in mobiles but does have a good record from the stand and looks a major player. NEARIS GREEN (5) crosses the Nullabor with good Queensland form and has been placed in 14 of his 19 standing start events. TRIROYALE BRIGADE (10) ran a nice 2nd here last week and is normally a fast beginner. Tips: 9 3 5 10 Suggested Bet: LOUIE THE HORSE (9) to win. Market Market
