Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 6, 2021May 6, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 ALTA INTRIGUE (1) resumes here without a trial and has had injury problems throughout his career but will be extremely hard to beat from the pole if anywhere near his best. PLUTONIUM (2) has finished just behind the placegetters at his past two starts and Gary Hall Jnr has elected to drive him over the polemarker. EUPHORIC MOMENT (10) ran a nice 2nd at his last start and will enjoy a soft run on the pegs. JASPERVELLABEACH (5) couldn’t get into the race at his last start but must be considered on his previous wins. Tips: 1 2 10 5 Suggested Bet: ALTA INTRIGUE (1) to win. Race 2 TELLMETOATTACK (3) has been racing consistently in better company and looks a good chance to shoot for an all-the-way victory tonight. C C CHEVRON (1) will enjoy a nice run on the pegs and shouldn’t be far away. PIERRE WHITBY (9) and BLUE BLAZER (8) both drop considerably in class on their recent assignments and will be charging home at good odds if there is a solid tempo in the early stages. Tips: 3 1 9 8 Suggested Bet: TELLMETOATTACK (3) to win. Race 3 BACK IN TWENTY (3) found the front and bolted away to record an impressive 1.54.8 victory over this distance at his last start. He has some quick beginners either side of him tonight but is the one to beat on his last effort. THEREUGO (6) has the gatespeed to make things interesting and is racing well enough to feature in the finish. NOTA BENE DENARIO (7) was a nice 2nd here last week and can play apart again. EXTREME PRINCE (2) finished best to win here on Tuesday and can be dangerous from this draw. Tips: 3 6 7 2 Suggested Bet: NOTA BENE DENARIO (7) each way. Race 4 HAMPTON BANNER (2) drew barrier six when he crossed to the front and recorded his third comfortable all-the-way win in a row and looks a great chance to make that four on end tonight. LAWRENCE (7) couldn’t make ground in a 55.5 last half when 2nd to his stablemate on Monday and looks the obvious danger to the favourite. MACHLANI (1) couldn’t hold out HAMPTON BANNER (2) from this draw last start but may be able to do so drawn next to him. HENWOOD BAY (3) is racing consistently and won’t be far away. Tips: 2 7 1 3 Suggested Bet: HAMPTON BANNER (2) to win. Race 5 WILL I ROCKNROLL (1) has disappointed at his two WA starts after doing things wrong but draws to lead and should be extremely hard to beat on his Victorian form. PERFECT MAJOR (9) has won his last two starts and is the class horse of the field but the wide draw makes it difficult over the sprint trip. JACK FARTHING (8) is the other class runner and won well last start but is drawn poorly. EXTRADITE (10) should get a lovely run on the pegs and looks a good place chance. Tips: 1 9 8 10 Suggested Bet: WILL I ROCKNROLL (1) to win. Race 6 HEAVENS SHOWGIRL (11) has won four of her five starts this time in and was ultra-impressive in her last win in slick time. She should enjoy a nice run in the moving line and will be charging home. TIFFANY ROSE (1) warmed up for her return with a solid Byford trial victory and should give them something to catch first-up. SOMEBEACHPARTY (12) will be close to her peak after three runs back from a spell and will make her presence felt. STAR OF DIAMONDS (4) defeated a similar field here last week and must be respected. Tips: 11 1 12 4 Suggested Bet: HEAVENS SHOWGIRL (11) to win. Race 7 PAPINIK (9) won eight on end before being narrowly beaten by Antero here in quick time. He has had a short break since that effort but indicated his fitness with a 1.56.5 Pinjarra trial win and is clearly the one to beat. LOUIE THE HORSE (3) dashed home in 55.5 when leading throughout from the stand at his last start and will be hard to catch if he finds the top. MEDIEVAL MAN (6) is flying and looks the other winning chance but has a tough draw to overcome. ALLWOODS ROCKNROLL (8) is always a place chance with the right run. Tips: 9 3 6 4 Suggested Bet: PAPINIK (9) to win. Race 8 JOELENE (5) has only won one of her 14 career starts but she has raced in stronger company and should give a great sight against this line-up. EASTON BROMAC (1) has been placed as favourite in her only two race starts and looks the obvious danger from the pole. SHELLNA (2) is drawn to get a lovely run close to the speed and shouldn’t be far away. PATRIKIAR (3) was beaten less than 3m in quick time at her last start and can be in the money from her nice draw. Tips: 5 1 2 3 Suggested Bet: JOELENE (5) to win. Race 9 MIRRAGON (3) was a comfortable all-the-way against the exact same field last start and is the one to beat despite not drawing as well tonight. POISEDTOPOUNCE (1) sat behind MIRRAGON (3) when 2nd in the heat and can take advantage of the pole draw to make it interesting tonight. MANNING (5) faced the breeze when a close-up 5th in the heat and won’t be far away. CAVEMAN (2) finished towards the rear in the heat but is drawn better tonight and can play a part. Tips: 3 1 5 2 Suggested Bet: MIRRAGON (3) to win. Race 10 WHATARETHEODDS (3) is still a bit green but won in 1.55.5 at his last start and will give a great sight. BUSHWACKED (2) led and defeated WHATARETHEODDS (3) at his last start and looks the leader again tonight. THE MIKI TAKER (6) ran on well to only be a half neck away from WHATARETHEODDS (3) at his second race start and looks to have a big future. IDOLISED (1) is drawn to get a lovely run just behind the leaders and can be placed. Tips: 3 2 6 1 Suggested Bet: WHATARETHEODDS (3) to win. Market Market
