Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 15, 2021April 15, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 WONDERFUL TO FLY (5) was a strong winner from the breeze against a similar field at her last start and appeals as the one to beat again. EXTRAORDINARY MARY (2) led throughout to defeat WONDERFUL TO FLY (5) two starts back and will give them something to catch if she finds the top. TAKING THE MIKI (3) chased hard when 2nd to WONDERFUL TO FLY (5) at her last start and should be right in the finish. BRAMANTE STEPS (1) disappointed when leading in that event and may elect to take a sit tonight. Tips: 5 2 3 1 Suggested Bet: WONDERFUL TO FLY (5) to win. Race 2 ROCK ON TOP (6) has impressed in winning two of his three race starts and looks the one to beat tonight. FOLLOW THE MUSIC (10) dashed home in 27.4 to open up his winning account at his last start and will be dangerous if he has any luck from this draw. TOMLOUS JAMBO (2) looks to have ability and could be a sharp improver from this barrier. THE WILDCARD (3) finished 2nd to ROCK ON TOP (6) at his last start and can be in the money again. Tips: 6 10 2 3 Suggested Bet: ROCK ON TOP (6) to win. Race 3 JUMPINGJACKMAC (7) is probably the 2nd best 3YO in the state at the moment and has the strength to control this race from the breeze if required. MIGHTY RONALDO (10) charged to the line when 3rd to Lavra Joe in the Battle Of Bunbury and will be dangerous if he sees daylight at the right time. SUGAR STREET (1) resumed from a break with a solid win at Bunbury and is the best drawn of the main chances. BE ROCK HARD (3) is nicely drawn and looks a good place chance. Tips: 7 10 1 3 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY RONALDO (10) each way. Race 4 RABCHENKO (10) put seven unplaced performances behind him with an impressive win here last week. He goes up in class but draws to get a soft run on the pegs and should be charging late. SHANWAY (4) wasn’t suited in a slowly run affair but hit the line nicely when 2nd here last week and can make his own luck tonight. RAKASINC (5) has struggled in better company at his last two starts but can be driven aggressively tonight. REBEL WITH A GRIN (1) hasn’t had this draw for over a year and can be a big improver here. Tips: 10 4 5 1 Suggested Bet: RABCHENKO (10) each way. Race 5 SOMEBEACHPARTY (10) took all before her last campaign and will be hard to hold out if she gets off the pegs at the right time. STAR OF DIAMONDS (1) is racing consistently and was rewarded with a 1.55.3 victory last start after drawing on the backline. She looks the leader tonight and should give a great sight. SAVVY BROMAC (11) ran a solid 2nd to STAR OF DIAMONDS (1) last week and should enjoy a nice run from his trailing draw. HEAVENS SHOWGIRL (6) has won all three of her WA starts but goes up in class tonight. Tips: 10 1 11 6 Suggested Bet: SOMEBEACHPARTY (10) to win. Race 6 VULTAN TIN (7) faced the breeze when beaten in a photo by GALACTIC STAR (6) here last week and looks capable of turning the table with both horses drawn wide tonight. GALACTIC STAR (6) returned to form with that victory last week and is the obvious danger. STROKE OF LUCK (3) is drawn inside his main rivals and should make his presence felt. VALBONNE (1) steps up in class but was an impressive 1.55.7 winner at his last start and can play a part from the pole. Tips: 7 6 3 1 Suggested Bet: VULTAN TIN (7) to win. Race 7 HAMPTON BANNER (2) led throughout in 1.56.5 to win his second start back from a spell. He should find the top here and will be extremely hard to beat. PALATINO (1) is drawn to get a lovely run behind the favourite and can improve on his last three unplaced starts. EUPHORIC MOMENT (10) has finished just behind the placegetters at his three runs back from a spell and can be in the money tonight. POISEDTOPOUNCE (5) has been placed in three of his last four starts but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 2 1 10 5 Suggested Bet: HAMPTON BANNER (2) to win. Race 8 DIEGO (3) had his chance when 2nd to Henwood Bay here last week but still appeals as the one to beat from his nice draw. MY CARBON COPY (12) hasn’t had much luck in his three starts back from a spell and is always dangerous if he gets the right cart into the race. EXTREME PRINCE (1) has been placed at his past four starts and looks a major player from the pole. NOTA BENE DENARIO (6) was a good stand winner at his WA debut but will find it harder from out here. Tips: 3 12 1 6 Suggested Bet: DIEGO (3) to win. Race 9 DARK SECRET (4) ran on well to defeat TENNO SHO (8) at his last start and should enjoy a nice run in the moving line. MY MDINA (2) is racing extremely consistently and is the best drawn of the main chances. TENNO SHO (8) has the gate speed to cross at the start and will give a great sight in that role. THE DEBATER (1) is drawn to be prominent throughout and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 4 2 8 1 Suggested Bet: DARK SECRET (4) to win. Race 10 AS HAPPY AS LARRY (3) has been unplaced at his past eight starts but gets the draw and field to give him a chance to bounce back into the winners’ circle. WHOZIDEAWASTHIS (5) was looking for a run on the line when a close-up 4th in stronger company here last week and must be considered. LORD ROSCO (6) raced out of his comfort zone when a gallant 2nd at his last start and looks a major player. ROCK ME OVER (4) is always a chance in this company with the right run in transit. Tips: 3 5 6 4 Suggested Bet: AS HAPPY AS LARRY (3) to win. Race 11 BOOM TIME (1) broke through for a well-deserved win here last week and should give a great sight from the pole. MIRRAGON (2) has impressed in winning his last two starts and is the obvious danger. HENWOOD BAY (5) was a strong winner from the breeze here last week and can take up that position and be right in the finish again. SHADOW ROLL (4) is an inconsistent type but can play a part if he brings his best form. Tips: 1 2 5 4 Suggested Bet: BOOM TIME (1) to win. Market Market
