Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 25, 2021February 26, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 TEXAS TIGER (12) has taken all before him in his three WA starts, including a dominant 1.51.7 victory at Pinjarra on Monday and he should bring up his 4th win in a row tonight. POCKET THE CASH (3) was only beaten 6.7m when 4th to TEXAS TIGER (12) at his last start and looks the main danger, if there is one. ANVIL ROLLOVER (1) led when 3rd here in 1.52.9 last week and should be thereabouts from the pole. ROLL WITH ME (5) is racing consistently and is a place chance with the right run. Tips: 12 3 1 5 Suggested Bet: TEXAS TIGER (12) to win. Race 2 BRACKEN SKY (4) has been battling bad draws against strong fields recently and will appreciate the drop in class tonight. He needs some luck in his races but will be charging home. PATRICKTHEPIRANHA (6) faced the breeze when a strong 2nd here last week and will make his presence felt again. THERUGO (5) is the likely leader and will be in front for a long way. BROOKIES JET (1) was a good 1.56.5 winner here last week and must be considered from the pole. Tips: 4 6 5 1 Suggested Bet: BRACKEN SKY (4) each way. Race 3 BETTORS DESTROYA (4) faced the breeze when a solid 3rd to Our Shelly Beach at just her third race start. This isn’t a strong group of fillies and she should prove hard to beat. JUST FOR LOVE (3) sat on Rumour Has It when 2nd in a stronger field last week and looks the obvious danger. LADY JADORE (9) has got plenty of ability but is first-up and has a horror draw to overcome. ABSOLUTE DELIGHT (1) is a consistent type and looks a place chance from her perfect barrier. Tips: 4 3 9 1 Suggested Bet: BETTORS DESTROYA (4) to win. Race 4 MIGHTY RONALDO (1) worked hard in the final lap when a 13m 3rd to LAVRA JOE (8) here last week. He has a significant barrier advantage over his main rival and can turn the tables. LAVRA JOE (8) defeated a similar field here last week with ease and must be considered despite the wide draw. TALKS UP A STORM (10) chased hard when splitting the favourites in that event and looks a good place chance again. GIVE US A WAVE (2) has been placed in nine of his 11 race starts and should be thereabouts from his nice draw. Tips: 1 8 10 2 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY RONALDO (1) to win. Race 5 EXTRAORDINARY MARY (4) was the most impressive of the heat winners when she led throughout and looked to be doing it easy on the line. She isn’t certain to find the top tonight but still appeals as the one to beat. JAY ELLE (8) was the fastest heat winner and has shown that she can run on from behind so must be considered despite the draw. VALHALLA MISS (1) led throughout in the slowest of the heats and looks a live chance from the pole. BRAMANTE STEPS (10) ran on nicely to finish 2nd in her heat and can be placed. Tips: 4 8 1 10 Suggested Bet: EXTRAORDINARY MARY (4) to win. Race 6 WHATARETHEODDS (8) has impressed in winning both of his race starts and his heat victory had plenty of merit. He is drawn poorly tonight but should still give a great sight. ROCK ON TOP (9) was the most impressive heat winner when he sprinted home in 55.8 and won by 24m. He will find it harder from this draw but must be considered. DUNAMIS (2) led throughout in his heat win and will give them something to catch if he finds the front. SOHO SANTORINI (5) ran on well to finish 2nd in his heat and will be suited by a fast pace. Tips: 8 9 2 5 Suggested Bet: WHATARETHEODDS (8) to win. Race 7 MIRRAGON (1) ran a nice 4th in the Golden Nugget two starts back and looks far too classy for this field. He began well in that event and will be at a short quote to beat this field. SPORTS PACKAGE (10) is drawn to get the run of the race and looks a great place chance. WHERE YA BIN (11) ran a nice 2nd at Pinjarra on Monday and can be in the money again. EXTRADITE (8) crossed and led throughout from a similar draw at his last start and could make things interesting in the early stages. Tips: 1 10 11 8 Suggested Bet: MIRRAGON (1) to win. Race 8 MR KIWI (2) ran a strong 3rd here two starts back before locking wheels and taking no part last week. He has only won one of his past 20 starts but can give a sight on an each-way basis tonight. BETTOR BE OSCAR (3) was hopelessly blocked for a run at his last start but was placed in his previous five runs and looks a major player from this draw. BLOCKJORG (1) hasn’t drawn a marble for a considerable time and looks a big improver from the pole. VALBONNE (11) was a solid 2nd here last week and should enjoy a nice trip in transit. Tips: 2 3 1 11 Suggested Bet: MR KIWI (2) each way. Race 9 DELIGHTFULREACTION (7) ran on well to finish 3rd to KIWI BLOKE (11) in a similar event at her last start. She always needs a bit of luck in her races but has the finish to be dangerous here. KIWI BLOKE (11) has found the front for impressive victories at his two starts this time in. This is harder from the 20m handicap but he can’t be overlooked. LEAP OF FAITH (5) is an enigmatic mare who could be too good for this field first-up but has to be taken on trust. MAJOR ARTIST (2) is a reliable stand performer who shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 7 11 5 2 Suggested Bet: DELIGHTFULREACTION (7) each way. Race 10 HOWARD HUGHES (1) broke when leading as a $1.14 favourite here last week. He since trialled nicely at Byford and is clearly the one to beat but has burnt punters of late. MAJOR TIMES (5) didn’t see daylight at his first start in WA and is the obvious danger. STROKE OF LUCK (3) was placed behind Patronus Star two starts back and shouldn’t be far away tonight. HAS NO FEAR (2) goes up in class for this assignment but is drawn well and should follow the speed nicely. Tips: 1 5 3 2 Suggested Bet: HOWARD HUGHES (1) to win. Market Market
