Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on August 13, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 CAPTAIN KIRK (2) chased home Patronus Star at his first two starts back from a spell before being held up for a run when a close up 5th here last week. He is nicely drawn and the drop in class makes him the one to beat. THE LAST PARISIAN (3) is drawn outside his main rivals but has won two of his last three starts and looks a major player. WHOSWHOINTHEZOO (1) is racing fairly and has options at the start from the pole. ART TUTOR (10) isn’t suited by the soft draw but is racing well and can figure. Tips: 2 3 1 10 Suggested Bet: CAPTAIN KIRK (2) to win. Race 2 ROBBIE EASTON (9) has been costly to punters but put up a brave effort when 2nd to American Delight here last week and is the class runner of the field. BURNING RUBBER (1) has been held up for a run at his last two starts after leading throughout at this track and should give a great sight from the pole. PIERRE WHITBY (11) is racing extremely well and will be suited if there is a solid tempo. JACK WILLIAM (2) has been battling bad draws of late and looks a big improver from this barrier. Tips: 9 1 11 2 Suggested Bet: ROBBIE EASTON (9) to win. Race 3 MADAME MEILLAND (2) was a solid 2nd here two starts back before being held up for a run here last week. She is perfectly drawn tonight and gets her chance to end a losing sequence of 32. TALKERUP (4) can do work in her races and should control this race from the breeze and be in the finish. SPACE JUNK (9) is the class runner of the field but has a tough draw to overcome. EXTREME PRINCE (10) has finished towards the rear at his past five starts but can improve with luck in running from this draw. Tips: 2 4 9 10 Suggested Bet: MADAME MEILLAND (2) to win. Race 4 WHILE THEY PRAY (9) has won 14 of his 30 career starts including three of his past four and looks the testing material despite the wide draw. He can pour the pressure on a long way out and will be hard to beat. OUR ALFIE ROMEO (5) was a strong 2nd at her first run back from a spell and should strip fitter for that effort. FAKE NEWS (1) was less than 8m away when 4th to Chicago Bull and must be considered from the pole. GOLDEN STATE (2) couldn’t hang on in a 55.7 half when 3rd here last week but should play a part from his nice draw. Tips: 9 5 1 2 Suggested Bet: WHILE THEY PRAY (9) to win. Race 5 CHICAGO BULL (1) has won his last five on end from wide draws and should go on his winning way despite there being more depth in this field. HANDSANDWHEELS (3) has had a freshen up since being outstayed twice by CHICAGO BULL (1) and should be thereabouts. BLETCHLEY PARK (2) is drawn to trail the favourite and looks a good place chance. GALACTIC STAR (4) is a proven performer at this level but will find this tough at his first run after a spell. Tips: 1 3 2 4 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (1) to win. Race 6 QUEEN SHENANDOAH (2) led throughout to defeat a stronger field here last week. She isn’t certain to find the top tonight but will still be hard to beat. STARLIGHT DESTINY (1) led throughout in slower time here last week and has options from the pole. DELIGHTFULREACTION (3) drops in class on her recent assignment and can play a part from this barrier. MY PRAYER (10) was a close 2nd from the same draw here last week and shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 2 1 3 10 Suggested Bet: QUEEN SHENANDOAH (2) to win. Race 7 STROKE OF LUCK (2) ran an eye-catching 2nd to Chicago Bull but then worked too hard when finishing down the track here last week. He is much better drawn tonight and should enjoy a nice run in transit. ULTIMATE OFFER (1) won two on end before doing too much work from a wide draw last week. He may not have the speed to hold up from the pole but should be handy in the run. OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (3) is in career best form and should be thereabouts again. THEREUGO (6) could cross at the start and should be ready to fire. Tips: 2 1 3 6 Suggested Bet: STROKE OF LUCK (2) to win. Race 8 BLOCKJORG (11) is the class filly of this field who will settle in a nice spot in the moving line and should be charging home. MISS EERIE (2) led when a narrow 2nd in a similar field at her last start and will give them something to catch if she finds the top. MISS LAMARR (3) was a strong winner from the breeze on Monday and looks a major player from this draw. RED HOT LADY (5) isn’t overly strong but has the turn of foot to win a race of this nature with the right trip. Tips: 11 2 3 5 Suggested Bet: BLOCKJORG (11) to win. Race 9 PATRONUS STAR (3) has impressed in winning all five starts in WA and should be able to find the front and bring up his sixth win on the trot. BRACKEN SKY (1) is drawn to get a lovely run and looks a great chance to find the quinella position. GEE JAY KAY (6) was a strong winner from the breeze at his last start and shouldn’t be far away. SERGEANT OATS (5) won his last two starts before a spell but looks a place chance at best from this awkward draw. Tips: 3 1 6 5 Suggested Bet: PATRONUS STAR (3) to win. Race 10 WILDWEST (7) has created a huge impression in winning eight of his 10 career starts. He resumes here without a trial but should be too classy if he handles the stand conditions. KIWI BLOKE (1) led throughout in an easier field here last week and should give a good sight again. BETTOR PARTY (8) galloped away and made up an enormous amount of ground to finish 3rd here last week and will play a part if he steps cleanly. ATMOSPHERICAL (5) couldn’t make up ground in a quick last half at his last start but is better suited in stands. Tips: 7 1 8 5 Suggested Bet: WILDWEST (7) to win. Market Market
