Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on July 30, 2020July 30, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 OTIS (2) has led throughout to win his last two starts and gets the perfect draw to press for a hat-trick tonight. ROBBIE ROCKET (8) ran a nice 4th behind Give Us A Wave before running on well to finish 3rd in the Golden Slipper and will be charging home again. POWERPLAY (3) had no luck in the two 3YO Classics but won his two previous starts and must be respected. THE GOOD LIFE (9) impressed in running home in 55.1 to win his last start in easier company but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 2 8 3 9 Suggested Bet: OTIS (2) to win. Race 2 RED HOT LADY (5) ran on well late when 7th here last week against the boys and should provide good each way value in a tricky affair. BLOCKJORG (8) is the best filly in the event but is drawn wide and may not be quite at her best. FIFTY FIVE REBORN (9) was checked and broke here last week and has the strength to overcome the wide draw. MISS EERIE (1) hasn’t finished further back than 5th in her 17-start career and should be thereabouts again from the pole. Tips: 5 8 9 1 Suggested Bet: RED HOT LADY (5) each way. Race 3 JUST WING IT (2) worked his way to the front when an impressive winner here first up before being caught in the breeze when a solid 6th to American Delight. He is drawn inside his main rivals tonight and looks the one to beat. BOOM TIME (4) has had no luck of late and is racing well but is the worst drawn of the major chances. ART TUTOR (3) has finished runner-up at his past three starts and will be in the finish again. ALLWOODS ROCKNROLL (1) is drawn to get a lovely run and looks a good place chance. Tips: 2 4 3 1 Suggested Bet: JUST WING IT (2) to win. Race 4 JILLIBY JAKE (1) led throughout from this draw four starts back and tried to do the same when a game 2nd to Robbie Easton. He grows a leg when able to lead and is the one to beat from this draw. TUAS DELIGHT (6) has ran two very nice placings at his last two starts and looks the main danger. OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (11) is always about the place without winning too often and won’t be far away again. IDEAL INVESTMENT (10) has been placed from leader’s back at two of his last three starts and looks like getting the same trip here. Tips: 1 6 11 10 Suggested Bet: JILLIBY JAKE (1) to win. Race 5 SIGHTSEEING ANVIL (2) couldn’t quite find the lead when fancied at his last start when 6th to Carter Micheal. He should have enough speed to find the front here and will prove hard to catch. A BOY NAMED ROSIE (3) always needs luck but is racing well enough to figure with the right run. HAS NO FEAR (10) is likely to settle three back on the pegs and can be dangerous from that position. QTOWN RIP ROARING (4) hasn’t seen daylight in most of his recent runs and is due for a change of luck. Tips: 2 3 10 4 Suggested Bet: SIGHTSEEING ANVIL (2) to win. Race 6 WHILE THEY PRAY (5) defeated Cyclone Banner in 1.54.7 before losing no admirers when sitting outside that pacer when 2nd to him last week. He can be driven aggressively here and will give a great sight. ROCK ME OVER (4) wasn’t suited in the breeze here last week but must be considered on consecutive 4ths to Chicago Bull before that. PIERRE WHITBY (1) was a solid winner from this draw against weaker company two starts back and should be thereabouts. THE VERANDAH (3) is nicely drawn and looks a place chance. Tips: 5 4 1 3 Suggested Bet: WHILE THEY PRAY (5) to win. Race 7 STROKE OF LUCK (8) was an impressive first-up winner at his WA debut and ran a slashing 2nd to Chicago Bull in scintillating time here last week. He is drawn wide but still appeals as the one to beat. ROBBIE EASTON (3) looked home here last week but knocked up late to finish 3rd to Tommy Be Good. He did have three weeks between runs so should strip fitter tonight. THEREUGO (2) ran an improved race 2nd up and could be ready to show his best. MACHS GOLD (10) goes up in class on his last start win but can figure. Tips: 8 3 2 10 Suggested Bet: STROKE OF LUCK (8) to win. Race 8 KIWI BLOKE (1) was slightly disappointing when leading and being beaten into 3rd at his last start before a break. He resumes here without a trial but would be extremely hard to beat if anywhere near his top. IM ROCKNROLL MAGIC (5) looks a major player based on his first-up 2nd to Forgotten Highway in a stand at this track. REBEL WITH A GRIN (8) had no luck in a mobile event here last week but is a proven standing start performer. MAJOR SHARD (4) missed away at his last start and can be right in the finish with a safe getaway. Tips: 1 5 8 4 Suggested Bet: KIWI BLOKE (1) to win. Race 9 CHICAGO BULL (6) faced the breeze when far too good in a blistering 1.53.2 here last week and looks the winner here against an easier field. CHIAROSCURO (1) is drawn to lead early and looks a great place chance. IDEAL LINER (2) will strip fitter for his first up run and should be in the money. TOMMY BE GOOD (5) defeated a weaker field here last week and can be placed if there is a solid early tempo. Tips: 6 1 2 5 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (6) to win. Race 10 MANDY JOAN (3) has won her past two starts and looks a great chance to bring up the hat-trick after drawing inside her main rivals. FAKE NEWS (5) was an impressive all-the-way winner at her first run back from a spell and looks set for a good campaign. JUST ROCKON BYE (6) has been placed at four of her past five starts and won’t be far away despite the wide draw. PARISIAN PARTYGIRL (4) continues to race consistently but is awkwardly drawn. Tips: 3 5 6 4 Suggested Bet: MANDY JOAN (3) to win. Market Market
