Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 14, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 BALCATHERINE (11) has been placed at her last three starts and didn’t see daylight until too late when 3rd to Arma Indie here last week. She is drawn to get a nice run in the moving line and will be charging home. LORD ROSCO (8) has only missed a place once in his 13 starts this time, including winning his last three on end and is ready for the rise in class. HES ROYAL BLUE (2) is the best drawn of the main chances and is suited by the sprint trip. DENNIS (10) hasn’t had much luck of late and can improve from his nice trailing draw. Tips: 11 8 2 10 Suggested Bet: BALCATHERINE (11) to win. Race 2 MR KIWI (11) copped interference and pulled up sore at his inglorious WA debut. He has had a month since that run and is clearly the horse to beat on ability but must be taken on trust. NEIGHLOR (1) has had tough draws to overcomer at his four runs back from a spell but looks a big improver from the pole. MADAME MEILLAND (2) hasn’t been at her best but hit the line hard here last week and can play a part from her nice draw. TUAS DELIGHT (12) can follow his stablemate in transit and can surprise at odds. Tips: 11 1 2 12 Suggested Bet: MR KIWI (11) to win. Race 3 SOHO THUNDERSTRUCK (5) had his chance from the breeze when beaten as a $1.80 favourite 5th to Saleahs Command here last week. He will be better suited by the slower tempo of this event and can bounce back. MISTER BUSHIDO (2) was a good last start winner and looks a major player from this draw. ONEONTHEWOOD (1) has a sharp turn of foot when driven cold and can be dangerous from the pole. QTOWN RIP ROARING (10) is always dangerous off a soft run and should enjoy that from this draw. Tips: 5 2 1 10 Suggested Bet: ONEONTHEWOOD (1) each way. Race 4 VALBONNE (3) has finished 2nd at his last three starts including a solid effort behind Bletchley Park here last week. He doesn’t have the gatespeed to cross the two horses to his inside but will be hard to catch if he can find the front. PARISIAN PARTYGIRL (1) is racing well and is always dangerous off a soft run. PRADAS IDEAL DAHLING (10) is an inconsistent type but is capable of winning an event of this type on his night. RUNAWAY THREE (4) has impressed in winning his last two on end and must be considered again. Tips: 3 1 10 4 Suggested Bet: VALBONNE (3) to win. Race 5 GARDYS LEGACY (1) led throughout to win his heat against the same opposition and looks extremely likely to the do the same again. ARISTOCRATIC STAR (9) ran on well to finish 3rd in the heat and looks a good place chance despite the horror draw. SUKHOVEY WINDMAN (5) ran a clear 2nd in the heat and is drawn to be prominent again. CLASSIC CHOICE (10) finished a long way from the placegetters in the heat but can be closer from this draw if he can improve his gatespeed. Tips: 1 9 5 10 Suggested Bet: GARDYS LEGACY (1) to win. Race 6 OCEAN RIDGE (7) had a lovely run in transit when he scored an upset win over Shockwave and Chicago Bull at his last start. This is a significant drop in class and he can overcome his wide draw. ALWAYS AN HONOUR (5) has won three of his last five starts and is ready for the rise in class. DREAMY NIGHTS (3) has finished towards the rear at his past four starts but is a different horse in front and could find the top here. MIGHTY SANTANA (8) has been placed at four of his past five starts and should be thereabouts again. Tips: 7 5 3 8 Suggested Bet: OCEAN RIDGE (7) to win. Race 7 DELIGHTFULREACTION (3) has finished 2nd in Mares’ Classics at her last two starts and will appreciate the drop in class here. She is well drawn and looks the one to beat. COUNTESS GRACE (1) trailed the leader when 2nd here last week and will be prominent from this draw. LEAP OF FAITH (4) won five on end before being knocked out of the race at her last start and looks a major player tonight. QUEEN SHENANDOAH (5) has trialled nicely for her return and must be considered. Tips: 3 1 4 5 Suggested Bet: DELIGHTFULREACTION (3) to win. Race 8 BLETCHLEY PARK (7) impressed here last week when running on from worse than midfield to defeat Valbonne. This is a harder assignment but he is drawn inside his two main rivals and appeals as the one to beat. KINGSLAYER (9) led throughout in 1.55.7 at his last start to record his 8th win from his last 12 starts and must be considered despite the wide draw. BETTOR BE OSCAR (8) has won three of his last four starts and looks the other main winning chance. MACHLANI (5) is racing well and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 7 9 8 5 Suggested Bet: BLETCHLEY PARK (7) to win. Race 9 PRINCESS MILA (3) won two on end in effortless fashion before doing things wrong at her last start. She gets a handicap advantage over her main rivals here and should be winning if she is on her best manners. ROCK TONIGHT (8) has developed into a consistent trotter and looks the main danger despite his 40m handicap. TENNO SHO (7) and DIAMOND GEEZER (6) have both been placed at three of their last four starts and can be in the money again. Tips: 3 8 7 6 Suggested Bet: PRINCESS MILA (3) to win. Race 10 CHICAGO BULL (6) started from a wide draw when a comfortable winner here last week. He is suited by the small field tonight and looks the winner again. GOLDEN STATE (1) is drawn to lead and should give them something to catch. ICEENOTHINK (3) had the perfect run when defeating CHICAGO BULL (6) at his last run but isn’t likely to enjoy the same trip here. OUR JIMMY JOHNSTONE (5) is racing well but is better suited closer to the pegs. Tips: 6 1 3 5 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (6) to win. Market Market
