Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 8, 2020April 8, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 VALBONNE (3) has battled bad barriers for an extended period of time but continues to race well including a last start 3rd to My Carbon Copy. He is drawn inside his main rivals tonight and should give a great sight. ONE FOR DAVE ANDME (5) has been unlucky at his past three starts and will be right in the finish with the right trip tonight. SOHO THUNDERSTRUCK (12) led throughout here last week but is also capable of overcoming a backline draw. DOMINATE THE DOJO (7) has the speed to make things interesting early. Tips: 3 5 12 7 Suggested Bet: VALBONNE (3) to win. Race 2 BROOKIES JET (2) put up a career-best performance when facing the breeze and finishing a close 2nd in slick time here last week. He is perfectly drawn and should go close if he repeats that effort. NAVAL AVIATOR (5) has only been placed once in his last nine starts but gets his chance against this moderate line-up. GOOD TIMES AHEAD (1) hasn’t figured in his five runs back from a spell but should be a big improver from the pole. MARQUISARD (9) disappointed as a short-priced favourite last week but looked in need of the run. Tips: 2 5 1 9 Suggested Bet: BROOKIES JET (2) each way. Race 3 BETTOR BE OSCAR (5) faced the breeze and battled on well to finish 4th here last week and will be hard to beat if he can find the front here. MIRACLE MOOSE (7) has flashed home to win and then run 2nd at his last two starts and will be charging home again. BACK IN TWENTY (6) wasn’t suited when doing too much work in the last lap here last week but can win with the right trip. BABYFACE ADDA (4) is drawn inside his main rivals and can make his presence felt. Tips: 5 7 6 4 Suggested Bet: MIRACLE MOOSE (7) each way. Race 4 MIGHTY SANTANA (4) impressed at his first run back from a spell when he handed up the lead and was held up before flashing home to finish 2nd to Iceenothink. He is likely to be driven more aggressively tonight and looks the one to beat. DENNIS (3) over-raced here last week but must be considered on his previous form. GANGBUSTER (1) has finished just behind the placegetters at his five starts this time in but can be in the money from the pole. CROCODILE KID (8) was a good winner last start but will find it harder from out here. Tips: 4 3 1 8 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY SANTANA (4) to win. Race 5 BALCATHERINE (1) has shown plenty of ability in her short career, winning three of her five race starts. She resumes here without a trial after a 12-month absence so has to be taken on trust but will be hard to beat if anywhere near her best. GOTTA GO GABBANA (9) faced the breeze when a gallant 2nd here last start and will give a great sight again. DRACARYS (8) flooded home to finish 3rd in that event and will be finishing strongly again. TYPHOON TIFF (4) is first-up after a long break without a trial but can play a part if forward in condition. Tips: 1 9 8 4 Suggested Bet: BALCATHERINE (1) to win. Race 6 THE BIRD DANCE (1) won six on end before being terrorised in front when beaten as a short-priced favourite here at his last start. He should lead and get an easier lead tonight and looks the one to beat. ICEENOTHINK (8) has a tough draw to overcome but is the class runner of the field and will be charging home. BRAEVIEW BONDI (10) has finished just behind the placegetters at his last two starts but is drawn to get a lovely run and should be thereabouts. TALKERUP (3) is back to her best and shouldn’t be far away from this draw. Tips: 1 8 10 3 Suggested Bet: BRAEVIEW BONDI (10) each way. Race 7 TAROONA BROMAC (9) has won ten of his 13 career starts and resumed with an easy all-the-way victory from the mobile. This is his first attempt from the stand but he will be hard to beat if he steps safely. FORGOTTEN HIGHWAY (3) was a solid first-up winner and is clearly the best of the front-line horses. ALWAYS AN HONOUR (13) has impressed in winning his last two starts from the mobile and has a good record from the stand. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (14) is the class runner of the field but will need the right cart into the race. Tips: 9 3 13 14 Suggested Bet: TAROONA BROMAC (9) to win. Race 8 SHOCKWAVE (7) sat outside GALACTIC STAR (3) and was too strong for that pacer at his last start and looks capable of bringing up his fourth win on the trot. GALACTIC STAR (3) is racing well without winning and looks the main danger again. IM FULL OF EXCUSES (6) is absolutely flying and was rewarded with his consistency with a win in the Narrogin Cup and shouldn’t be far away. GOLDEN STATE (1) is drawn to get a nice run in transit and should be an improver. Tips: 7 3 6 1 Suggested Bet: SHOCKWAVE (7) to win. Race 9 SUING YOU (4) disappointed last week but draws better tonight and can utilise her sharp sprint to good effect without having to work hard in the early stages. SWEET MADDISON (6) has won four on end against inferior fields and should be ready for the rise in class tonight. STAR FROMTHEPALACE (2) was outclassed in the WA derby but must be considered back to her own sex. FIFTY FIVE REBORN (8) charged home to win here at her last start and can repeat the does if there is a solid tempo. Tips: 4 6 2 8 Suggested Bet: STAR FROMTHEPALACE (2) each way. Race 10 MACHNIFICENT (1) has won one of his four race starts and was a solid last start 4th in strong company. He has trialled nicely recently and should run a bold race from the pole. LAVRA JOE (3) is rock-hard fit and impressed when facing the breeze and recording a 1.56.1 victory at his last start and will test the polemarker. STAR OF WILLOUGHBY (2) won on debut and should enjoy a lovely run from this draw. SEERYANFLY (4) won’t be far away in the run and can be placed. Tips: 2 1 5 9 Suggested Bet: MACHNIFICENT (1) to win.
