The Scout: Wednesday NBA Best Bets Posted on May 25, 2021May 25, 2021 | Posted by The Scout Boston Celtics @ Brooklyn Nets The Nets started slow in Game 1, but when needed, their Big Three did not disappoint, going on a 12-2 run to seal victory. Jayson Tatum was far from his best in Game 1, connecting on six of his 22 shots. He was however very aggressive, looking to score and accepting of his role in this Boston squad. His 11 free throw attempts were a good reflection of this. For the Celtics to have any chance at levelling the series they need a big game Tatum. Tatum has all the offensive weapons to trouble the Nets and rarely puts together two poor shooting performances. Suggested Bet: Jayson Tatum 35+ Points @ $3* LA Lakers @ Phoenix Suns The Lakers looked tired and disjointed in their opening match against the Suns and need to make immediate adjustments if they want to leave Phoenix at 1-1. It is not panic stations right now for the defending champs but they need to bounce back as falling behind 2-0 will be a big hurdle to climb. LeBron James and the Lakers are not in uncharted territory as they lost the opening game in the first round of the playoffs last season. What makes James such a good player is his basketball knowledge and ability to dissect a game and make the correct adjustments to help his team win. LeBron will look to get Anthony Davis more involved after going for just 13 points in Game 1. Suggested Bet: Los Angeles 1-10 (Margin) @ $2.80* Dallas Mavericks @ LA Clippers Luka Doncic led the Mavericks to a 113-103 upset win over the Clippers in Game 1. The Mavs won the game with their sharpshooting from beyond the arc, making an impressive 17 three pointers. Despite Paul George and Kawhi Leonard both scoring over 20 points, they were a combined three of 14 from three-point range, with the team going 11 from 40. The Clippers were the best three point shooting team in the NBA throughout the regular season shooting (41%) and I’m expecting a sharp bounce back in Game 2. Luka made a mess of the Clippers defense for much of Game 1, but I’m expecting a better showing from Paul George and Kawhi Leonard here. Suggested Bet: Los Angeles 11+ (Margin) @ $2.65* *Odds correct as at 6pm, 25th May 2021. Market Market
