The Scout: Thursday NBA Best Bets Posted on October 27, 2021October 27, 2021 | Posted by The Scout Miami Heat @ Brooklyn Nets The Miami Heat (2-1) take on the Eastern Conference favourites the Brooklyn Nets (2-2) in a matchup which could potentially be the final of the East. Miami made the move for Kyle Lowry and PJ Tucker in the offseason getting two veterans who have recently won NBA Championships. Their goal was clear, to surround Jimmy Butler with experience and to balance out their young role players. PJ Tucker is a great addition for the Heat as he does not need many shots or time on the ball to be effective. He will defend Kevin Durant in this matchup, an opponent he is very familiar with as he guarded him for a full playoff series in Milwaukee. Brooklyn are playing the long game and are still adjusting to life without Kyrie Irving while Miami is already finding their groove. Jimmy Butler comes into this match off the back of a monster 36 point game and I expect him to lead the Heat to an upset victory. Suggested Bet: Miami Win @ $2.45* Memphis Grizzlies @ Portland Trail Blazers The young and fired up Memphis Grizzlies (2-1) will travel to the Portland Trail Blazers (1-2) in what is shaping up to be an exciting playoff potential Western Conference matchup. Ja Morant is showing why he is next in line for NBA superstardom, over the course of three matches so far this season he is averaging 35 points and 8 assists. Alongside Morant is the emergence of two shooting guards Desmond Bane (19ppg) and De’Anthony Melton (18ppg) who are both becoming great targets for Morant when he runs the floor. The Grizzlies are playing a fast pace, run and gun style of basketball and so far it is working. They are leading the highest scoring offense in the league right now averaging 123.3 points per game. Portland however is still warming up and have had a slow start to the season, especially star point guard Damian Lillard who is shooting a horrendous 2/24 from three point land. Morant and his co-stars are playing aggressive basketball, constantly attacking the paint and finding the open man. This fast pace will be too much fort Portland who are still trying to find their feet, I expect the Grizzlies to win this one. Suggested Bet: Memphis Win @ $2* Washington Wizards @ Boston Celtics Two teams on opposite trajectories feature in this Eastern Conference match as the Wizards (2-1) take on the Boston Celtics (2-2). The Celtics are looking to go deep into the playoffs while the Wizards have a completely new look team and will be hopeful to even be considered a chance to make the play-in tournament. Despite these two differences this match will be an exciting one as both sides have high calibre offense with very little defense. Strangely it is not the Wizards with the worst defense in the league early in the season, it is the Celtics who are letting in a whopping 119.8 points on average across four matches. Boston have been getting themselves into shootouts with their opponents and very little defensive work is done. With Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Bradley Beal featuring in this match, you can expect plenty of points to be scored. Both teams have high powered offense and care little right now for any defensive efforts, expect this match to soar over the total. Suggested Bet: Game Total Over 226.5 @ $1.90* *Odds correct as at 11.25am, 27th October 2021. Market Market
