The Scout: NFL Week 2 Posted on September 17, 2021September 19, 2021 | Posted by The Scout Kansas City Chiefs @ Baltimore Ravens The Chiefs (1-0) were victorious in their opening game against the Browns while the Ravens (0-1) had a disappointing overtime loss to the Raiders. Patrick Mahomes was fantastic against the Browns and is looking like an early MVP favourite as he threw for 337 yards to go along with three touchdowns. Lamar Jackson has not faired well against Mahomes and is 0-3 in his career against him and I do not expect a different result as the Ravens come into this match off a short week. Defensively the Chiefs have enough to contain Jackson while the Ravens will struggle to contain Mahomes throwing downfield to his favorite targets, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce. Hill was a monster against the Browns last week with a whopping 197 receiving yards to go along with 1 touchdown catch. Jackson was repeatedly hit and sacked twice against the Raiders and the Ravens offensive line looked incredibly weak. If they do not improve it will be an impossible task to keep up with Mahomes and his offensive weapons, we should see the Chiefs comfortably cover a very small line. Suggested Bet: Chiefs -3.5 (Line) @ $1.90* Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins The Bills (0-1) were upset in Week 1 by the Steelers who did not allow Josh Allen to get going as he was sacked three times and took eight hits. Miami (1-0) grinded out a close win over New England which saw them put in a strong defensive performance. Do not overreact to Josh Allen and the Bills poor performance in their opener, they are an elite side led by one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Coach Sean McDermott will watch the tape and make adjustments to his offensive line to ensure Allen is better protected and we will see him sit in the pocket and find targets. Josh Allen is 5-1 as a starter against his AFC rival the Dolphins and will bounce back against them in this match. Miami lacks offensive weapons and will heavily rely on their defense to win them this match, unfortunately for them the Bills have too many weapons to shut out. Suggested Bet: Bills -3.5 (Line) @ $1.90* Cincinnati Bengals @ Chicago Bears The Bengals (1-0) got an upset win in their opener with a narrow win over the Vikings while their opponent the Bears (0-1) fell short against the Rams. Cincinnati rookie receiver Ja’Marr Chase proved he can play in the big league as he had an impressive debut with 101 receiving yards to go along with a touchdown. Chase looked fantastic and his speed matched with his hands is a deadly combination. The Bears’ secondary is arguably their weakest unit, and it allowed Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford to throw for 321 yards last week. If the Bears defense allows a similar performance, neither Andy Dalton nor Justin Fields at quarterback will be enough to catchup. Offensively the Bengals have a lot going for them with Joe Burrows leading the way throwing for 261 yards and 2 touchdowns in his return from a knee injury. Running back Joe Mixon topped 100 rushing yards in-game for the first time since last October and looked fantastic. I think the Bengals will have far too many offensive options for the Bears to keep up with considering their poor defensive unit. Bet: Cincinnati WIN @ $2.20* San Francisco 49ers @ Philadelphia Eagles The 49ers (1-0) were victorious against the Detroit Lions while the Eagles (1-0) dismantled the Atlanta Falcons in their opening match. Philadelphia’s domination of the Falcons cannot be ignored as they completely mauled them as quarterback Jalen Hurts was able to get whatever he wanted on offense. Defensively the Eagles were incredible and were extremely active, disrupting their opponents offensive sets. San Francisco looked fantastic against the Lions for three quarters before becoming very sloppy late in match, this cannot happen against Hurts and the Eagles or they will be exposed. The 49ers also lost their starting running back Raheem Mostert with a season ending knee injury which is a huge loss. The Eagles will look at the tape from last week and will see the holes in which the Lions were able to expose in San Francisco’s defense. The problem for the 49ers is that Philadelphia will be able to do the same things to exploit their weaknesses at a higher level. Suggested Bet: Eagles WIN @ $2.45* Market Market
