England v Netherlands

A convincing penalty shootout performance saw England into the last four, and they were boosted by the return of Luke Shaw from the bench. The left back offers balance to the side but may not be ready for a full game. Coach Gareth Southgate switched to a back three against Switzerland and could go with the same tactics again. Marc Guehi returns from suspension and will look to regain his spot from Ezri Konsa in defence.

The Netherlands are expected to be unchanged, even though it took Wout Weghorst’s introduction as a second half substitute to kick start their comeback against Turkey. Cody Gakpo is the tournament’s joint top goal scorer and has been impressive off the left wing, while Steven Bergwijn should again start ahead of Donyell Malen and Jeremie Frimpong.
