The Scout: EPL Week 26

Manchester City vs West Ham

Manchester City (1st) are now undefeated in 17 straight Premier League matches while West Ham are two points clear in 4th after their 2-1 win over Tottenham.

City’s roster depth is well documented but one player that has jumped out this season has been midfielder Ilkay Gundogan who has 11 goals from his 19 appearances. The German has legitimate claims on the Player of the Year Award.

Gundogan has been particularly hot of late, scoring four goals in his last four matches. He has been the focal point of the City attack who play a high possession brand of football resulting in plenty of goal scoring chances.

Suggested Bet: Ilkay Gundogan Anytime Goalscorer @ $2.10*

Sheffield United vs Liverpool

A third straight loss for Sheffield United keeps them glued to the bottom of the table while Liverpool (6th) have lost their last four with their title defence now in tatters.

Captain Jordan Henderson is likely to miss the remainder of the season, adding to an already brutal list of injuries. What remains however is their attacking trio of Salah, Mane and Firmino.

These three players need to carry the Reds through the remainder of the season if they are to force their way back into the league’s top four. They’re currently just five points behind West Ham so they are well within striking distance.

Sheffield United have conceded 41 goals for the season and I think they will feel the brunt of a frustrated Liverpool squad here.

Suggested Bet: Liverpool Win and Over 3.5 Goals @ $3.30*

Everton vs Southampton

Everton (7th) got back on track last match with an epic 2-0 win over Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby while Southampton (14th) continued to slide down the table following a 3-0 loss at Leeds

Everton welcomed back Dominic Calvert-Lewin from injury last week with the striker coming off the bench in the 62nd minute. With the fitness now under his belt I’m expecting him to start here. Big plus.

Southampton’s once potent attack has now completely vanished. They’ve scored just 31 times for the season and have failed to register a goal in four of their last six away matches.

Everton are still in the hunt for a top four spot and should be taking care of a team who have won just once in thirteen fixtures.

Suggested Bet: Everton (Match Result) @ $2.10*
