The Scout: EPL Matchday 8

Burnley vs Huddersfield
6th October, 10pm WST

I’ll be the first to put my hand up and say I didn’t see this coming. After a disastrous start to the season Burnley are officially back on track following a 4-0 belting of Bournemouth and last week’s 2-1 away win at Cardiff.

Huddersfield will be hoping for their own Burnley-esque change of form. Sitting in last place with only three goals scored (and 16 conceded), the dreaded talk of relegation has already begun.

Icelandic native Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson has been at the forefront of Burnley’s revival with three assists and a goal from the last two games. He, and the rest of his teammates will be licking their lips at the thought of a three game win streak and a dispirited Huddersfield outfit.

Suggested Bet: Match Result Burnley @ $2.15*

Crystal Palace vs Wolves
6th October, 10pm WST

Crystal Palace opened the season with an impressive victory over Fulham but have been on a downward spiral ever since. Currently 13th on the table, the Eagles have been defeated four times, and have only managed five goals across the opening seven games.

Newly promoted Wolverhampton are playing great football and haven’t looked at all overawed by the level of the Premier League. Coming into the season Wolves were known for their attacking talents, scoring a whopping 82 goals last year in the Championship. However it has been their defense getting the job done this season, conceding a measly six goals – good for fourth in the League.

Suggested bet: Match Result Wolves @ $2.60*

Leicester vs Everton
6th October, 10pm WST

The 8th placed Leicester and 11th placed Everton have both proven they have no issue finding the back of the net with 13 and 11 goals respectively.

For Leicester, the ever-consistent Jamie Vardy leads the way with three goals, while Everton couldn’t be happier with their attacking spread of Theo Walcott (2 goals, 2 assists), Gylfi Sigurdsson (3 goals, 1 assist) and Richarlison (3 goals).

Now for some stats: (1) Everton have kept just one clean sheet in their last 12 Premier League away games, (2) they’ve conceded two goals in all three of their away games this season, (3) more than 2.5 goals have been scored in six of Everton’s last eight Premier League matches

Suggested Bet: Both Teams To Score and Over 2.5 goals @ $2.10*
