The Scout: EPL Matchday 11

Arsenal vs Wolverhampton
2nd November, 11pm WST

Arsenal (5th) were 2-0 up in the opening 10 minutes last weekend against Crystal Palace before conceding either side of half time for a disappointing draw.

Winless in their opening six matches, Wolverhampton have (somewhat) turned their season around and now find themselves 12th, taking eight points from their last four games.

All is not well for the Gunners with last week’s draw coming off the back of a 1-0 loss to newly promoted Sheffield United. They are still well within striking distance of the top four, but will need to start winning games like this.

Arsenal’s attack has relied heavily on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has seven of the team’s 15 goals for the season. Last season’s Golden Boot winner is averaging 2.5 shots at goal per game, and should have plenty of chances again here.

Aubameyang has spent time on the wing in recent weeks, but I expect him to return to being the highest player on the pitch, the focal point of the Arsenal attack, and end his three game goal scoring drought.

Suggested Bet: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Anytime Goalscorer @ $1.94*

Brighton vs Norwich
2nd November, 11pm WST

14th placed Brighton are now four points clear of the relegation zone with two wins from their past three games, both at home and both against strong opposition in Tottenham (3-0) and Everton (3-2).

Norwich haven’t won a Premier League match since their September 15 clash with Manchester City. They sit 19th on the table with just seven points from the opening 10 games and have scored just twice in their last five games.

Norwich striker Teemu Pukki scored six goals in his first five appearances for Norwich this season, but his form has mirrored the team’s, going goalless in his last five Premier League games.

Norwich haven’t won on the road all season, scoring just once in five away fixtures. The Seagulls are on the hunt for a third straight win at Amex Stadium and should be getting it here.

Suggested Bet: Match Result Brighton @ $1.70*

Manchester City vs Southampton
2nd November, 11pm WST

Manchester City (2nd) remain six points behind Liverpool and come into this fixture having already beaten Southampton (3-1) this week in the Caraboa Cup.

18th placed Southampton are in terrible form. They come into this match extremely low on confidence having already lost to City this week and off the back of a devastating 9-0 defeat at the hands of Leicester City last weekend.

To make matters worse, this match sees the League’s best offense (32 goals scored) up against the League’s worst defense (25 goals conceded).

City are in rare form right now having won their last four matches (in all competitions), scoring 13 goals in the process. They have a real chance here to replicate their 8-0 drubbing of Watford from earlier in the year.

City were able to score three goals midweek without David Silva, Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne. All three return here and I see this getting ugly for Southampton.

Suggested Bet: Manchester City 4 Goals or More @ $2*
